For this assignment, I plan to analyze a publicly available Excel dataset containing inpatient discharge data for facilities across the state of Florida. The dataset includes facility information and quarterly inpatient counts.
My approach will be to import the Excel file into R, review the structure of the data, and perform basic cleaning such as selecting relevant variables and checking for missing values. I will then summarize inpatient counts by facility and quarter to better understand patterns in hospital utilization.
Potential challenges include working with a large Excel file, ensuring column names are properly formatted, and handling any missing or inconsistent data. These issues will be addressed using standard R data wrangling tools.
