Negative Diff = Finishes Better Than Qualifying | Positive Diff = Qualifies Better Than Finishing
Why This Works: - Cup has the most drivers with 60+ P75 scores - 5 Cup = 3 starters + 2 backups means your optimal 3 are usually in play - 3 O’Reilly = guaranteed starter + 2 rotating options for flex - 2 Trucks = your starter + 1 backup (smallest elite pool anyway)
Early (Picks 1-3): - Target elite tier from any series (60+ P75) - Cup elite scorers have highest floors - Don’t reach for positional need yet
Mid (Picks 4-7): - Lock in Cup minimum (3) with high-floor players - Start O’Reilly depth - need rotation for flex spot - Grab at least 1 elite Trucks driver
Late (Picks 8-10): - Complete positional minimums - Target drivers who finish better than qualifying (high gainers) - Balance your roster to hit min/max constraints
Since your lineup auto-optimizes weekly, you want depth at positions that can flex. The flex spot can be any series, so having 5 Cup and 3 O’Reilly gives you more chances at hitting the optimal lineup each week. Trucks has less depth, so 2 elite drivers > 3-4 mediocre ones.
Look at the Scarcity Analysis chart. The series with the steepest drop-off from Elite to Strong tier is where you attack early.
Example: If Cup has 8 Elite but O’Reilly only has 3, you need O’Reilly earlier or you’ll be stuck with Strong/Solid tier drivers who rarely crack your optimal lineup.
