Introduction

This report summarizes data tasks completed by PH2S Data Team (consisting of Amanda Carroll and Chelsea Cobranchi) in 2024 and 2025. Data tasks are organized across six categories: (1) REDCap builds; (2) grants supported; (3) publications supported; (4) analysis; (5) process improvement; and (6) training. The purpose of this report is to summarize how tasks are allocated across the categories and identify trends across time.

Data Interpretation

Each of the charts below show each specific task area from above broken down individually. Some key things to note:
  1. May - July was huge for REDCap builds because of the clinical database, as this was when most of the building and editing was completed. Another big note of this was in November, from go-live, and edits from that.
  2. April was huge for grants support because of the first attempted submission of ALL FOCUS data that month, which included re-doing the REDCap, cleaning all data, analyzing it, and uploading into their system.
  3. The biggest note for publications was that the Data Team was included on three publications in 2025. Here are the citations for that:
    • Langkiet, J., Hutzel-Dunham, E., Brown, J. L., Lyons, M. S., Freiermuth, C., Sprague, J. E., Lambert, J., Braun, R. S., Littlefield, A. K., Frey, J. A., Bachmann, D., Bischof, J. • Bischof, J. J., Reichert, E. M., Maitland, J., Queen, J. M., Cobranchi, C., Conroy, M. J., … & Lyons, M. S. (2025). Evaluation of an influenza vaccine administration program in the emergency department. The American Journal of Emergency Medicine.

  4. For Process Improvement, the Data Team’s biggest months were February (GPRA), March (FOCUS), April (FOCUS), May (FOCUS), June (data SOP’s), and Sept (Clinical DB Training).
  5. For training, the biggest month is September with the highest bar ‘Created for REDCap Build’, which was the Data Team preparing for the Clinical Database Training. The second highest month was October, with ‘Provided for REDCap Build’ as the highest bar, because that is when all Clinical Database Trainings were conducted.

Key Updates & Strategic Initiatives

2025 was a big year for the Data Team with the go-live of the clinical database. With hundreds of hours of building and creating the training materials, this is hard to track accurately with a count, but was tracked to the best of their abilities. The Data Team also provided six full days of training across HPAs and students, as well as full days of shadowing in the ED for all HPAs and students. Similar to 2024, overall the Data Team completed the most tasks in REDCap, whether completing REDCap builds or edits to existing projects. This is challenging to track, and does not count the consecutive days spent working on these tasks, but rather completed projects. To note, the Data Team takes off 2 weeks every December, and Amanda was off a decent amount Sept - Nov for family emergencies.

Looking Ahead

To start 2026 the Data Team has been working through a lot of outlines, data proposals, and REDCap builds for new grants awarded (Punches R, CDC-DIS, ED-SMART, etc.). FOCUS rebuilding and data dissemination will also be a focus of 2026. The Data Team will also be hiring a student and a S1 in 2026, which will offset some of the burden of the ongoing task list, as well as increase trainings and mentoring hours in 2026. This will increase the amount of QA work completed by the data team in 2026 as well.
