Global Teacher Prize: 10 year Impact Report

Strategic Insights & Survey Results

Agenda: Strategic Insight Areas

01. Executive Summary

Methodology & Scope

  • Universe: Global community of Global Teacher Prize finalists (\(N = 445\)).
  • Sampling Frame: Historical census of finalists (2015–2025).
  • Sample: 190 valid cases via census invitation.
  • Response Rate: 42.7%.
  • Technique: Online, self-administered questionnaire.
  • Calibration: Multivariate post-stratification using Raking (Iterative Proportional Fitting). The data were weighted to align the sample structure with the actual parameters of the universe across three dimensions: Geographic Region, Gender, and Cohort (year of finalization).
  • Integrity: The instrument was designed under a structural anonymity protocol to ensure the authenticity of responses and reduce social desirability bias. No personal or affiliative identifiers were collected; exclusively aggregate demographic variables were used for profile analysis.
  • Field period: November 10-28, 2025

“With the complete sampling frame of the 445 historical finalists, we were able to perform a sweep calibration. This transformed a voluntary response sample into a balanced database that accurately reflects the known parameters of the total population.”

Advantages

Precision: Raking calibration ensures the sample structure matches the actual \(N=445\) universe.

Integrity: Structural anonymity protocol ensures authenticity and reduces social desirability bias.

Engagement: High statistical reliability achieved through a global census approach.

Descriptive fidelity:Due to the high response rate (42.7%) and the adjustment for ranking, the results show high descriptive fidelity with respect to the total universe of finalists

Recency Bias: The 2023 and 2025 finalists are “fresh” from the experience, still savoring the award, and respond more frequently. Those from 2015 may have already changed jobs or no longer check that email. By calibrating the survey, the results are not “contaminated” by the perspective of the newcomers. Thus, the perspective of the pioneers from 10 years ago carries the same weight as that of the recent finalists. (There were no editions in the years 2022 and 2024)
