Project Objective

• The objective of this project is to build a Next Word Prediction data product.
• The application predicts the most likely next word based on a user-entered phrase.
• The goal is to demonstrate the prediction algorithm through an interactive interface.

Shiny Application

• Next Word Prediction is a Shiny app that uses a text prediction algorithm to predict the next word(s) based on text entered by a user.
• After clicking the Predict button, the app returns a single predicted next word.
• The app is hosted on shinyapps.io and is publicly accessible.

This allows users to interactively test the predictive text model.

Predictive Text Model

• The prediction is based on a statistical N-gram language model.
• Bigrams (2-grams) are used when the input contains one word.
• Trigrams (3-grams) are used when the input contains two or more words.
• The model selects the most frequent next word from the matching n-grams.
• If no matching n-gram is found, the app returns “No prediction available”.

Application User Interface

• The user interface is designed to be simple and intuitive.
• It contains:
  • A text input box for entering phrases
  • A prediction button
  • A text output area for the predicted word
