This dashboard focuses on opioid overdose rates and public health outcomes within NY State.

Purpose: To provide data-driven insights into opioid overdose rates, demographic disparities, treatment access, and public health outcomes in New York State. This dashboard will support nonprofit program planning, advocacy, and education efforts.
Client: A New York-based nonprofit organization focused on public health, harm reduction, and addiction recovery support. The organization aims to better understand how opioid misuse affects different communities and what interventions are most effective.
Compares crude and age-adjusted opioid overdose rates statewide from 2016 to 2022, showing a sharp rise after 2019 followed by stabilization.
Breaks down opioid overdose rates by age group, revealing divergent trends such as improvement among young adults and worsening rates among older adults.
This stacked bar chart demonstrates the total overdose deaths from the last 2 years in NY State. It is split by type of opioid.
This plot shows the same data, but for the entire US and from the past 5 years. It shows a similar distribution.
This dashboard was created using Quarto in RStudio, and the R Language and Environment.
