The data used below are real time-to-death data from colorectal cancer patients in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, recorded by the Oncocentro Foundation of São Paulo (FOSP). The dataset contains 4308 observations and 17 variables, including informations regarding the patient’s profile, the cancer’s characteristics, ongoing and past treatments between the years 2000 and 2004.
Kaplan–Meier curves are generated for the variables in this dataset. The Kaplan–Meier estimator uses the empirical survival function and takes censored data into account to estimate the survival function. By examining the Kaplan–Meier curves, it is possible to compare survival between two groups. In addition, the result of the Log-Rank test is also shown.
