Under the Article 13 of EU Regulation 679/16, and in compliance with the principle of transparency, we provide the following information in order to ensure full awareness regarding the characteristics and methods of processing of personal data for the purpose of participating in the research project conducted by the University of Pavia: WALK-ITA – Translation, adaptation and Italian validation of the Neighborhood Environment Walkability Scale (NEWS): cross-sectional observational study on the perception of walkability in the adult population (18+)
The general objective of the study is to validate the
Neighborhood Environment Walkability Scale (NEWS) questionnaire
in the Italian language. In addition, the study aims to investigate the
relationship between perceived walkability and quality
of life and lifestyle factors among the adult population (≥ 18 years)
living in Italy, through a cross-sectional observational design.
The characteristics of the study and its operational procedures are
described in detail in the document Consent and Information
Sheet for the Project.

Data may will be used only in anonymous form and exclusively for scientific and statistical research purposes. Processing will be carried out using electronic tools. All data will be stored in a secure, access-controlled electronic database, designed in accordance with the CRF (Case Report Form) and with integrity, traceability and security criteria required by current regulations.
The legal basis for the processing described above lies in consent, under the Article 6(1)(a) of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation) and, in the case of processing special categories of data, Article 9(2)(a) of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679. Consent for the above purposes is optional, but necessary in order to participate in the research.
However, provision of data for the purposes described in Sections 2 and 2.1 is not mandatory but is essential for the achievement of the stated objectives. Refusal to provide such data will therefore prevent participation in the study. Provision of data for the purposes described in Section 2.2 is optional, not deriving from a legal obligation, but necessary to allow extended retention beyond the conclusion of the present study for future research purposes and, if necessary, to contact you to request new consent. Refusal to provide such data will have the sole consequence of preventing the possibilities described above. Provision of data for the purposes described in Section 2.3 is necessary to comply with statutory administrative record-keeping requirements. In this case, the legal basis can be found in Article 6(1)(c) and (e) of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679. Data will be exclusively disclosed to authorised subjects.
Without prejudice to the limitations on the exercise of data subject
