Summary of Results for Research Question 1

Chi-Square Goodness-of-Fit Test was used to test whether the preferences of the customers towards desserts (chocolate cake, vanilla cheesecake, and tiramisu were equally distributed. The proportions were expected to assume the equality within the three categories (1/3 each). There were 548 participants in the sample. It was found that there was a statistically significant difference in the observed and expected proportions, χ²(2, N = 548) = 54.004, p < .001. This result indicates that the preferences of customers towards desserts were not uniform i.e. there are desserts that were more frequently used compared to others.
