00 km/h rural roads dominate fatalities due to higher speeds and limited safety barriers. Urban 40–60 km/h zones show fewer deaths, reflecting stronger enforcement and pedestrian infrastructure.
Most crashes occur in daylight because traffic exposure is highest. Night-time and dawn crashes are more severe per km—visibility and fatigue remain major risk factors.
