Art and Visual-Based Practices

These techniques enable participants to discover and express themselves in a career context, concretize their career transitions, and represent them visually. Even simple drawing exercises play a complementary role in helping participants express themselves from childhood to adulthood by facilitating the transfer of feelings and thoughts (Afriyati et al., 2023). Working with visual language and symbols is particularly effective for people who struggle with verbal expression or have different learning styles (Daniels, 2018).

Story and Narrative-Based Approaches

Literary techniques are valuable tools for individuals to explore possibilities and find meaning in their career lives. Especially in an age group where identity development is turbulent, such as adolescence, biographical and autobiographical techniques provide valuable insights into potential career development options and the progression of development (Afriyati et al., 2023).

Experiential and Interactive Group Work

These techniques allow participants to experience situations similar to their real-life experiences in a group setting. Drama experiences, including the creation of a fictional story and the portrayal of a fictional character, enable individuals to interact in a group setting and transfer the knowledge and insights they gain to their real lives (Nelson & Finneran, 2006).
