Law As Code Hackathon 2025/26
AKN-XML Comparative Analysis across multiple legislations
Our Contribution
- Idea: Comparative analysis of heterogeneous AKN-XML corpora (CH, IT, EU, US)
- Detect similar norms (e.g., IPR law) and show evolution over time
- Outputs: comparisons, visualizations, analytics for decision-makers
- Methods:
- Hierarchical embeddings (XML structure + normative references)
- Agentic AI to select the best RAG retrieval/comparison pipeline
- Dataset sources: Fedlex (CH), Normattiva (IT), EUR-Lex (EU), GovInfo (US)
Why it matters
- Contributes to the modernization of legal processes in Europe
- Provides comparative evidence across jurisdictions (CH, IT, EU, US)
- Helps decision-makers (e.g. WIPO, public sector) understand
commonalities and divergences in legislation
- Shows the evolution of norms over time, improving transparency
- Aligned with hackathon goals: prototype development, open-source release, and scalable solutions
