Hello, I am Tiernan Shibles a Junior Business Analytics major here at Xavier University.

I am 20 years old from Providence, Rhode Island. I enjoy hanging out with my friends, working out, listening to music, coding, watching football, and playing golf. Here on campus I am pretty involved. I am the Vice President of the BAIS Club, the Vice President of Finance for Xavier’s DECA Chapter, and I am a brother of the professional fraternity on campus, Delta Sigma Pi.I truly enjoy my major as it combines the two things I have always loved, numbers and computers.

Professional Background

Although I have had no internships yet, I have caddied for the past 7 years at a private golf course in Rhode Island called Wannamoisett Country Club. I loved caddying, as someone who has played golf since they were 8 years old, it was the perfect summer job, I enjoy helping people out with their golf games, especially if it is someone I have worked for for a while. I am hoping to get a data science internship for Summer 2026 somewhere in Cincinnati.

Experience with R and Data Mining

This class is my first experience with R and Data Mining. I have enjoyed learning how R operates so far.

Experience with Other Analytic Software

I am currently taking BAIS 358 where we are taught how to use SQL which I have enjoyed so far. I took AP computer science where I learned some python, but only the basics.
