Who am I?

My name is Ben Fasana, and I’m a Junior Business Analytics major at Xavier University. I’m drawn to analytics because it turns messy, real-world questions into clear, actionable insights that help people make better decisions. Outside the classroom, I spend as much time as I can outdoors and playing sports. Those interests have taught me teamwork, resilience, and how to stay calm under pressure—skills I try to bring to every project and class. I’m excited to keep building the technical toolkit that pairs well with a practical, business-first mindset.

Professional background

I’m currently an intern at Bright Side Loans LLC, a role I’ve held since 2022. I support the team with day-to-day data analysis, product auditing, and answering ad-hoc business questions that come up from operations, finance, and leadership. My work often involves structuring ambiguous problems, validating data, and summarizing results so decisions can be made quickly.

Experience with R Studio and Data Mining

Before this class, I had limited hands-on experience with R/RStudio, but I do have meaningful exposure to data mining in Excel. I’m comfortable cleaning and organizing datasets, using lookups and logical formulas, building pivot tables, creating charts, and turning those pieces into concise reports. That foundation helps me think systematically about problems and check assumptions as I go
