Born and raised in Oregon, I moved to Seattle in 1998 to escape a potential pitfall of having a life as documented in “Office Space”. After spending four years at a college I couldn’t afford, studying electrical engineering with a minor in theater, I ran away and joined the circus. By that I mean I spent 20 years and two days in the United States Air Force. I joined to do combat search and rescue, however, ended up spending my first term as a broadcast journalist with the American Forces Network (think “Good Moring, Vietnam” only less funny, but not for lack of trying), then retrained to be a federal agent with the Office of Special Investigations, protecting your tax dollars, collecting digital evidence, and finally working on protecting start-up businesses with Air Force contracts.
I’m taking this class as an elective for my MBA, I am planning on specializing in Finance. I am most interested in learning more about the data mining as I don’t feel like I received enough about that specific aspect of data science.
I just accepted a position to be a career coach for undergraduate business students. I have one child and three dogs on a 27.5 acre ranch where I take care of my parents.
