Introducing Me! With R Markdown.

Hello all! My name is Vivian Comer. I am a MS Business Analytics Student at the University of Cincinnati. I am from the suburbs of Cincinnati in West Chester, OH, where I lived until I graduated from high school. I then moved to Columbus to complete my undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering. From there, I moved to Richmond, Virginia to work at Capital One, and now I am back home to pursue higher education.

On the personal side, I have 2 younger brothers and a cute pet rabbit (shown below). I love reading, music, art, and learning new skills! In the past I have done photography, flameworking, glassworking, and woodworking. I am currently working on a stained glass project and learning about music production! I enjoy the process of problem solving, and combining technical skills with creative pursuits is my happy place.

Programming & Analytics Experience

R

I have just started learning programming with R in a class called BANA 7025 - Data Wrangling, as part of the Masters in Business Analytics program I am enrolled in. I have not had previous experience with this lanaguage. I have learned about R operations, data structures, packages, Markdown and Notebooks, and importing data since I started the course and I look forward to learning more.

Python

I have used python in the past for computations, data mining and manipulation, and data visualizations in classes while completing my undergraduate degree at Ohio State University. I am currently learning new applications for python, such as simulation and modeling, for business analytics during my masters program.

SQL

I have used SQL in the past to design and query databases during my time as an undergraduate including a project to create a functional database for a dentist office. I am learning more about this language an applying it in the MS BANA program.

C

I have used C in the past to program robotics. Integrating sensors, motors, and positioning data to create autonomous robots.

Excel

I have had extensive experience with excel for managing, manipulating, and visualizing data as well as the implementation of Macros. I used this tool in both academic and professional applications.
