My name is Madhurima Sarkar, and I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Business Analytics at the University of Cincinnati. I have a strong interest in data-driven decision-making, and I am passionate about applying analytics and data science to solve real-world business.
I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Economics, where I built a strong foundation in quantitative methods, research, and statistical analysis. During my Master’s program in Economics, I developed a deep interest in econometrics, which later inspired me to build a career in analytics.
Professionally, I have nearly five years of experience in the Banking and Financial Services domain. I began my career at Genpact, working with global clients, and later moved to HSBC, where my work spanned across CRM & Campaigns Analytics, developing profitability models for Credit Cards to forecast Revenue, and contributing to data engineering initiatives. These experiences have enabled me to bridge the gap between business strategy and analytics while further strengthening my problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
My experience with R is at an introductory level. I have started using it for data wrangling, visualization, and statistical analysis, and I am keen to strengthen my skills further. I see R as a valuable tool for both academic research and professional projects, especially in handling large datasets and building analytical models.
In addition to R, I have experience with other analytic tools such as SQL for data extraction and manipulation, beginner level Python for data science, SAS for data mining, and Power BI for data visualization. These tools have helped me approach analytics from different perspectives, and I am eager to integrate R into my toolkit to enhance my overall analytical capability.
