A bit about Amy!

Yello! My name is Amy Ethel Koomson, I am a 2nd year Ph.D student in operations management at the Lindner College of Business. My research interest is in Maritime Operations, specifically looking at the Seaport performance in the aspect of Ship turnaround Time. I am born and raised in Ghana, and only came to the United States, last year August for my studies. Aside Cincinnati - Ohio, I have only been to Kentucky, Atlanta -Georgia, and Tennessee for about 2 hours. I hope to visit as many states I can in the near future.

Academic Background

Professional Background

My work experience has mostly been in the maritime space, from doing internships at PSC Tema Shipyard, on a containership from Shanghai, China to Busan, Korea, to being an import and export documentation officer at Sunda International, Ghana. Prior to University of Cincinnati, I worked full time in the logistics department at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority.

Experience with R

I started using R when I started my PhD, and can only say that I am a beginner and hoping to learn more and discover the many exciting features and packages R has, to help me advance in my research.

Experience with other Analytic software

I have experience with Excel and a beginner level experience with Python.
