Hi! My name is Kate Hattemer, and I am an MS BANA student. This program marks a big pivot for me. I’ve spent the 16 years since I was last in school teaching high school Latin and working as a freelance writer. I’ve published four novels and have also worked as a ghostwriter and a developer of creative IP content.
I’ve published four novels under my own name with Random House. I’ve also worked as a ghostwriter with Kevin Anderson & Associates and as an IP content developer with Assemble Media.
I also spent nine years in the high school classroom, including chairing the Classics Department at Flint Hill School in Oakton, VA (outside Washington, DC), where I taught all levels of Latin, from I to AP.
To understand my experience with R, other analytic software, and, indeed, everything taught in this program, please solve the following equation, where \(E\) is my analytics experience, \(a\) is my time studying the extremely relevant subject of Latin, and \(c\) is my previous career as someone who literally made stuff up for a living:
\[E = (a*c^2)/\infty\] An astute mathematician will say, Well, then, why on God’s green earth did they admit you? To which I respond, I have no idea!
I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from you and I’m looking forward to a great class. Thank you for the thorough, organized materials and the clear expectations.
