Chris Goodman Introduction

About me:

Hello! I am from Bethel, OH and have lived in this area my entire life. My career has spanned over 30 years in manufacturing in both industry positions and academia. I am currently an Associate Professor, Educator of Manufacturing Engineering Technology at UC Clermont College. Prior to academia, I held positions in industry such as mechanical technician, service engineer, project manager, engineering manager, and operations manager.

Academic Background

• Associate of Applied Science in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology (Cincinnati State Technical and Community College)
• Bachelor of Science in Technical Management (DeVry University)
• Master of Business Administration (University of Cincinnati)

Professional Background

I am currently an Associate Professor of Manufacturing Engineering Technology and Unit Head of the Math, Computers, Geology, and Physics Department at UC Clermont College. My current responsibilities include:

• Teaching Manufacturing related courses
• Attend bi-monthly chair meetings
• Attend college curriculum meetings
• Conduct monthly MCGP department meetings
• Collaborate with coordinators to establish course schedules
• Conduct annual performance reviews of faculty
• Approve travel, expenditure requests
• Write support letters for various items such as grant proposals etc.
• Represent MCGP at college events/functions

Experience with R

I have had no prior experience with R prior to this course. So far, I am enjoying learning about R and look forward to the remainder of this course.

Experience with other analytic software

I have had limited experience with Python in another course. Learning about Rwill encourage me to explore other applications in the future.
