The four cities (Tokyo, WashingtonDC, London and Beijing) are popular for different characteristics according to the figures.

———————–

In Tokyo, Japanese tourism and anime culture occupy main places, which means that Japanese culture is popular in Tokyo. Moreover, the network shows us that Tokyo is also a city involving diverse culture such as European and American culture.

———————–

In WashingtonDC, history and politics are popular according to the word cloud, and the network figure further emphasizes it. People in DC also reveal its problem such as bad traffics.

———————–

In London, both entertainment and culture are popular, American culture and politics can be frequently seen; and according to the network figure, London is also a city where talented musicians and artists are welcomed.

———————–

In Beijing, politics and the problems are heatedly debated, such as the problem of traffics and pollutions and political figures like Kim Jong-un.

———————–

The polarity and subjectivity of each of the cities have no significant difference; the places where the twitters were sent show that mostly the twitters were sent around the city. It could be a sign that the popularity for the city is just for the city its own instead of nation-wide phenomenon, but it could also be a sign that only people who is really at that place tend to write twitters about the specific city, so I cannot draw a conclusion whether the popularities of those cities are nation-wide or city-wide through the information provided by the figures showing the places where the twitters were sent.

I would say that Tokyo is the most popular cities among them all. My standard is to see how popular the indigenous culture is. In the word cloud of Tokyo, the anime Tokyo Ghoul occupies a main place and it is also obvious that the tour and sightseeing of Tokyo are popular. In other words, the main popular characteristics of Tokyo are about Tokyo its own instead of about the other kinds of cultures. In the word cloud of Beijing, though the life of Beijing is mentioned frequently, it is more likely to be negative, such as the problem of the pollution. London is also a city with people who like pop cultures, but more frequently, I see cultural-related words with other countries such as gaga and Selena Gomez. WashingtonDC is more politically and historically popular instead of culturally or artistically popular. In conclusion, under my standard, Tokyo is the most popular city.
