Hello, I am a Pricing Manager for First Student. In this role, I conduct profitability analysis on new business opportunities in the United States and Canada. This involves a detailed understanding of the P&L, awareness of local market conditions and regulatory challenges, but most importantly strong data skills to maintain pace during “bid season”.
I was born and raised in Dallas, TX, but I call Cincinnati my home now. In between life stops, I’ve lived in Grand Rapids, MI, Washington D.C., and Brooklyn, NY.
My first job opportunity out of undergrad came with National Grid in Brooklyn, NY. As a data contractor my job was to collect, clean, validate, and automate storm related expenses for corporate recovery. Ultimately, National Grid hired me full time as an analyst on their financial modeling and data analytics team. In that role, I was responsible for producing price/volume analysis on electric and gas usage, as well as maintaining revenue analytics for our executive team to lean on for board reporting.
During Covid, I left Brooklyn and took a 6 month contract at First Student working on corporate infrastructure projects related to a flurry of M&A activity. I remained with First Student for 5 years as a member of the finance team. At First Student, I’ve had the opportunity to support billion dollar transactions, audit acquisitions, create executive reporting dashboards in Power BI, and develop pricing strategies for new business opportunities.
Within the last year my experience grew substantially using R as the primary tool in the Applied Economics program. In the last 12 months, I’ve used R to conduct the following:
