Generate a set of binary variables to illustrate the resource usage at UVic for this group of international students.
Dichotomize the question 34 to question 54 to generate binary variables about whether students use this service.
For example: Q34. If you have used any of the university services listed in this question, please indicate how helpful you found that service: - Academic Advising
We identify “no basis to judge” and “NA” as “FALSE” and other items as “TRUE”.
Since we have a set of new binary variable now, we are able to do logistic regression and to identify which predictor is important for student's choice about whether use this service.

Question 65[https://ca.studentvoice.com/app/ClientWeb/Results.aspx?ProjectId=32810]
Mann Whitney test.
Example one: Do Males and Females answer differently?
Kruskal Wallis test.
Example two: Do scoring tendencies in terms of one queston differ by countries?
Example one: Do Males and Females answer differently?
Wilcoxon rank sum test with continuity correction
data: Q46InstructorOfficeHour by Q71gender
W = 706.5, p-value = 0.4919
alternative hypothesis: true location shift is not equal to 0
From the Mann-Whitney test we get a p-value of 0.4919, hence we fail to reject the null hypothesis that Males and Females have the same scoring tendency at the 5% level. So there is no difference between gender.
If there were a significant difference between the scoring tenancies of people from different countries.
Kruskal-Wallis rank sum test
data: Q34AcademicAdvising by Q72country
Kruskal-Wallis chi-squared = 8.6653, df = 3, p-value = 0.03409
The Kruskal-Wallis test gives us a p-vale of 0.03, hence we have evidence to reject our null hypothesis that there is no difference.
There are interesting insight about student behavior, and more are needed to be explored.
