Recent Program Accomplishments
50% of students improved their participation in class over one year
40% of students improved their academic performance over one year

Participants’ Perspectives:
“After School lets you be creative and to find innovative ways to learn something.  I met new people who have different careers and that gave me ideas about whether or not that career is for me.  The scientist people taught me about cells and which ones are good and bad.  I saw how hand sanitizer can kill both the good and bad cells. After School actually helps kids keep track of what is going on in school.  The tutors who came from the university taught us new ways to solve math problems.  Being there helped me to know how to work in a team and how to become a good leader and help others who needed help. You can meet kids who are having the same issues in school and you can understand what careers you want if you are having a hard time.  You can talk to providers and ask them questions about their jobs and see if you want to do what they do.” -Julian Ruiz Velez (After School Academy student)
