Hello! My name is Ashmal Ali, and I am currently in my senior year majoring in business analytics. I was born and raised in San Antonio and I enjoy playing some games.

Professional Background

This summer I had an internship from UTSA called, Data Science & AI Community Innovation Scholars Program. UTSA teamed up with HEB, who then gave UTSA $1 million dollars to help local non-profits with any sort of data related issues. My partner and I worked with Respite Care of San Antonio, and we helped them with data cleaning, visualizations, and analytics to help them better their collection on survey data, find where their clients need help, and gather aggregate data of their clients. We also used regression models to find what variables would allow their clients to increase their finances.

Experience with R and Data Mining

I started using R my sophomore year and I have learned a lot, but there is still a lot to learn as the programming world is always adapting and changing. I have worked with data mining quite a bit with R from running different statistical analysis to working with multiple machine learning models. With the data world, there is always something more to learn and I love to keep educating myself on those new topics.
