Valorant isn’t just aim — it’s also map awareness, agent choice, and timing.
This presentation dives into my own match data to uncover:
The goal?
To discover the most ideal conditions under which I win
— and start making smarter queue decisions.
-The data was extracted from the website “tracker.gg” (link = https://tracker.gg/valorant/profile/riot/Destiny%23lmfao/matches?playlist=unrated), which stores all of my Valorant match data.
-The data was manually collected into two CSV files,
Valorant_Stats_with_Match_Result.csv; This contains all of the match data of 120 of my latest played Valorant matches.
Full_Valorant_Match_Dataset_30_Matches.csv; this contains match data of 30 new matches I played in order to test the conclusions drawn from initial visualisations.
In conclusion, the best conditions for me to win a match in valorant are:
Map: Split or Ascent
Agent: Cypher or Jett
Time to play: Midday(11AM-5PM) or Late Night(10PM-5AM)
-Valorant has a roster of different playable Agents, each one with a unique set of abilities. The more you play with one agent, the better you get at using these abilities and winning.
-Yoru is by far my most played agent, as shown here. So by logic, I
should be playing my best with Yoru, right?
-But the previous visualization (Top 4 agents by winrate) shows that Cypher and Jett are the agents I win the most with.
-Even if we factor in the ACS/Average Combat Score (a score given by
the game at the end of each match to signify performance) along with the
winrate in a uniform Performance Metric (Basically combining the
normalised ACS and winrate of each agent)
-Jett and Cypher are still apparently better for me to play.
-That didn’t sit well with me. Perhaps it was the fact that Yoru has so many more number of matches played than the other two agents that the disparity caused by the large difference was causing the results to be skewed.
-Or maybe I really should switch my main agent to either Jett or Cypher.
-To find out for sure, I played 30 new matches in total, 10 with each of the three agents.
-I made sure to keep the conditions as same as possible, queuing at a similar time with proper aiming warmups and playing my best.
-And the results….
-Turns out, I was correct in trusting my hunch. Yoru is my best played agent with the winrate and Performance Metric better than Cypher or Jett.
Here’s what the data reveals when we look at everything side by side:
🗺️ Top Maps
Split and Ascent are my go-to battlegrounds — my win rates on these are
72%+! These maps may complement my playstyle, or perhaps I’ve just
mastered the sightlines and common angles. Either way, they’re
clearly worth prioritizing when they pop up in queue.
🔫 Top Agents
Despite the initial conclusions by the data, I did what every good data
story teller does and embraced my instincts by testing the new
hypothesis, in this case Yoru not being my best played
agent, with new data. And my instincts were correct,
Yoru is my best played agent.
🕒 Time of Day
Late night (10PM–5AM) and Midday (11AM-5PM) matches show the highest win
percentage. Maybe it’s the quiet focus, the less sweaty lobbies, or just
better vibes — either way, the data suggests I play my best at
the brightest of day or the darkest of night..
Together, these three insights give me a personalized win-boosting strategy — no coaching needed!
