“Despite the well-documented benefits of regular physical activity, the majority of adults do not engage in regular exercise.”
— (Innovation in Aging, 2025)
“The Australian Bureau of Statistics reveal that the adherence to physical activity guidelines steadily declines with age across all categories.”
“Even small increases in physical activity are linked to slightly lower stress levels.”
We
Know the Benefits.
So What’s Stopping Us?
Maybe it’s not that simple after all…
“It’s not always lack of willpower. Often, it’s the weight of life, time, responsibilities and priorities that keeps people from moving more.”
Let me show you how this played out in my own life over 20 days…
On the days I exercised, I barely touched my phone, my mind felt clearer, and I had energy to spare.
But on the days I got lost in screen time, I didn’t just skip the gym… I forgot it even mattered.
This graph didn’t just show a pattern, it held up a mirror.
This project reminded me that people don’t avoid exercise because they don’t know its benefits, we avoid it because life gets in the way. Real barriers exist. But so do moments of choice.
