📍 Regional Analysis Overview
This report summarises the results of the 2025 National BioBlitz,
with a focus on regional biodiversity patterns and
contributions by area.
In particular, we present regional league tables
based on rarity-weighted species scores. This allows us to explore not
just which regions recorded the most observations, but which contributed
the most ecologically valuable or unusual species.
First of all lets get an overview of which regions have provided
data. To do this we need to know the iNaturalist codes for the regional
‘places’ that we are interested in. We have these saved ready in a csv
file:

🏆 Regional League Tables
As part of the National BioBlitz 2025, we’re celebrating not only
national contributions, but also recognising the fantastic efforts made
across different parts of the UK.
Below you’ll find regional league tables for each
area where data was submitted. These tables show:
- Total Score – the combined rarity scores of all
species-level records
- Species Count – the number of distinct species
observed
- Top Species Score – the highest score earned from a
single species observation
These tables offer a great way to see which participants have made
the biggest impact within their region.
