Over the past few months, this course has challenged me when it comes to data, marketing, and making decisions. I had a very general knowledge of R and how it is applied in a corporate setting before. This course instructed me on how to think critically in terms of data and its importance.

Two things I’ve learned that I will apply in my work include, Data Visualization with ggplot2 and how complicated data visually has been perhaps the most practical skill. I can see how knowing this knowledge will help me with my future career. and, Cleaning with dplyr. Business data is not always clean, and knowing how to manipulate data around and clean it before analyzing it is important or else it will create issues. As someone who plans to work in the technology industry, I know that having clean data is important to succeed.

Two things that I will take with me over the last 6 months include, The stress-relief of debugging a code so I can make it work. For me, R always stressed me out especially when I am stuck, but working through it has taught me to be more patient because with the help with AI as well, I was able to make it work out.

Something that tricked me, The fact that one could combine code, and narrative text using R Markdown was useful in keeping track of my own work. It also made me think about what I was discovering instead of doing code just to complete the assignment.

If I had the ability to do one thing over differently, I would, Start early on the assignments. Sometimes, I didn’t understand how much time it might take to clean data. Early working would’ve prevented me from feeling stressed out until I got the assignment completed.

Something that I will do differently next time, Always check my assumptions in the data although R makes it easy to do the calculations.

Something I especially want to learn, I’d like to gain knowledge on predictive modeling since it’s used to predict the outcome of future events based on data.

True or False – Good marketers tend to be creative designers and communicators but poor with figures and statistics. False. This course showed that marketers today need to be experts with both analytics and creativity. We live in a world where there is lots of competition for businesses, so understanding as much skills is important to succeed in the long run.

The most valuable skill I learned, Being able to clean data, and visualize data using R. It’s important to me because it provides me to do the work instead of having to wait for someone else to the data for me. Hopefully in the future once I find my career, I’d be able to use these skills in providing more effectuve marketing campaigns.
