Sermon: Knowing Your True Identity in God

Introduction

We live in a world where identity is often shaped by external influences—what others say, what we wear, what we achieve, and what we see on social media. But how does God define us? Why were we created? Today, we will explore God’s purpose for our lives and how knowing who we are in Him will guide our choices and lead us to true fulfillment.

“Imagine you have a key, but you don’t know what door it opens. You walk around frustrated because you’re trying to force it into every lock that doesn’t fit. That’s what happens when we don’t know why we exist. We try to fit into every trend, every crowd—but only God has the door that matches your life.”

“Imagine if you never looked in a mirror—you’d never know what you really look like. Some of you are looking into the wrong mirrors—the world, social media, friends’ opinions—instead of God’s mirror, His Word. God’s Word is the true mirror that shows you who you really are.”

When we don’t know who we are and why we exist, it’s easy to make the wrong choices. The world offers paths that seem easy and enticing, but they lead to destruction. On the other hand, God’s way, though narrow, leads to life, joy, and eternal reward.
