Interpretation of Ques 4: In Model 1, the intercept is 43.50, and the slope of rent is -0.033, which is statistically significant. However in Model 2, the intercept is 43.82, with a rent slope of -0.024 and an avginc slope of -0.00017.

The variance of the parameters and error terms, in Model 1, the standard error for rent is 0.0135, and the residual standard error is 18.19. In Model 2, the standard errors increase slightly (rent = 0.0286, avginc = 0.00049), and the residual standard error also slightly increases to 18.25, showing a minor decline in model precision.

For the t-tests and p-values, Model 1 shows that rent is statistically significant (t = -2.46, p = 0.015), meaning it’s a meaningful predictor. In contrast, Model 2 shows that neither rent (t = -0.86, p = 0.394) nor avginc (t = -0.34, p = 0.731) are significant.

In terms of R-squared values, Model 1 has an R² of 0.046 and an Adjusted R² of 0.038, indicating that the model explains about 4.6% of the variance in the city variable. Model 2 has a nearly identical R² of 0.047, but the Adjusted R² drops to 0.031, reflecting that the addition of avginc did not improve model fit — in fact, it slightly worsened it when accounting for the number of predictors.

Finally, the F-test in Model 1 is F = 6.04 with a p-value of 0.015, showing the overall model is statistically significant.
