Table 1. Dengue Cases by Province/HUC
CaLaBaRZon, Morbidity Week 1 to 13, 2024 vs 2025
Figure 1 illustrates the dengue case trends through Week 3. Dengue cases exceeded both the epidemic and alert thresholds in Morbidity Week 1. After this initial peak, the number of cases gradually decreased, remaining above the epidemic threshold until Week 13, when it finally fell below the threshold. The decline was gradual, with the data reflecting a sustained high case count in the early weeks, followed by a steady reduction as the outbreak progressed. The persistence of cases above the epidemic threshold for several weeks underscores the prolonged nature of the outbreak before it ultimately subsided by Week 13.

Figure 2 shows that the majority of cases occurred among male patients, particularly in the 0-9 and 10-19 age groups, each with over 2,000 cases. While females also had notable counts in these age groups, males consistently had higher numbers. As age increases, the number of cases decreases for both genders, with the lowest counts seen in the 60+ age group. Overall, the highest incidence is in younger males, highlighting the need for targeted interventions for this demographic, though data accuracy issues must first be resolved.

CaLaBaRZon, as of Morbidity Week 1 to 13
As of Morbidity Week 13, Rizal Province reported the highest number of dengue cases, followed by significant case counts in the neighboring provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon, as well as in Lucena City. The map highlights the geographic distribution of cases, with Rizal Province leading in case numbers, and the surrounding areas showing progressively lower, yet still substantial, case counts. This spatial distribution underscores the concentration of dengue cases in these key regions, with a notable clustering in Rizal Province and its adjacent areas (see Figure 3).
