The four companies layoff many different types of jobs but being tech companies it would make sense that a lot of the jobs they layoff would be tech related. But yet all four are laying off HR and talent three of which that is there largest category of layoffs.
The four most laid-off job categories are HR & Talent, Software, Other, and Marketing. However, when all remaining job categories are combined into a new category called “More”, they collectively surpass Marketing in total layoffs and nothing else. This highlights that the size of a department does not necessarily determine its layoff risk but the skills needed for that potions/ specialization.
