Interpretations

-The histogram of MPG gives us a better understanding of the distribution of the data. From the histogram above we can suggest that MPG is not normally distributed due to it not being completely symmetrical. The box plot does something similar and gives a better understanding fo the variance within the data set. We can see from the box plot that the variance isn’t concerning and that there is an outlier present. The first graph can look very confusing to someone who doesn’t know what they are looking at, however, it is very simple to generate and can give you a quick glimpse into your data and how variables interact with one another. The graph allows you to quickly determine if there are potential relationships between the numeric variables, this graph can tell you if certain variables increase with one another or vice-versa.

From my matrix we can see that displacement and weight seem to have a negative relationship with that of MPG and Year seems to have a somewhat positive relationship with MPG. The graph does not clearly suggests any other relationships with MPG, so when it comes to predicting MPG, I would pay attention to these three factors the most.

-Though it is difficult to see it all clearly, I will identify what I can. It seems that medv and lstat decreases together. Crim and age seem to have a somewhat postive relationship as well. Lastly, I believe I can see a negative relationship between dis and indus.

-It seems that there are 13 homes with more than 8 bedrooms and a staggering 64 with more that 7. I am not sure if this comes from personal bias but based on a sample size of a little over 500, I’d say this would still results in larger houses on average compared to other places.
