Overview

The monthly review covers the areas of attendance, behavior, and assessment. The purpose of the review is to notice patterns, provoke discussion, and identify interventions in a timely manner during the school year.

#2025 Four-Year Cohort Graduation Rate Cohort Graduation Rate (CGR)

2025 Four-Year Cohort Graduation Rate (CGR) is comprised of students who entered grade 9 in 2021-2022 and are currently enrolled at Thomasville High School or who were last enrolled at Thomasville High School. In the December 2024-2025 CGR denominator was been reduced from 212 to 188. Documentation shows that the 24 students have enrolled in another school or have left the United States since leaving Thomasville City SChools.

The current projection for the 2025-2025 Four -Year CGR is 78%. If all students who are in Adult High School and all students who are at moderate risk to graduate, do graduate, the graduation rate will be 84%. If only on track students graduate, the graduation rate will be 75%.

Teacher Attendance

The teacher absence graphs were developed using data from the LINQ Timekeeper for the month in review.

The graph below shows the number of teacher absences by day of the week.

The graph below shows the number of teacher absences by type of leave.

Student Attendance

Student attendance is measured by the number of days absent in Infinite Campus. The data is a cumulative year-to-date total. The graph below shows the distribution of absences at each of four schools in the district.

2024-2025 Fall EOC

At the end of the 2024-2025 Fall Semester, students in Biology, English II, Math 1, and Math 3 took state assessments. However, the Biology standards have been revised for the 2024-2205 schoo year. Therefore, student outcomes are not available until the state standardizes scores.

We will review student outcomes in English II, Math 1, and Math 3 as well as compare the 2024-2025 Fall Semester outcomes to outcomes of previous fall EOC results.

Math 1

Fewer than 30 students were administered the Fall Math 1 EOC test. Most students will take the Math 1 EOC during the spring administration. Below is a comparison of fall Math 1 results over the past three years.

Because of the historically small cohorts of students who are tested in Math 1 during the fall administration, it is not possible to form strong conclusions regarding Thomasville City School’s final End-of-Year Math 1 proficiency percentage.

Math 1 Fall EOC Results Over Time
Test # Proficient % Proficient
Math 1 - Fall 2022-2023 < 10 47.4%
Math 1 - Fall 2023-2024 < 10 7.8%
Math 1 - Fall 2024-2025 < 10 < 5%

Math 3

Math 3 scores for the 2024-2025 Fall administration are a large improvement over the 2023-2024 Fall Math 3 results. While a larger cohort of students will be tested in Spring 2025, the fall results suggest that the district is trending towards a higher End-of Year proficiency rate for the 2024-2025 school year.

Math 3 Fall EOC Results Over Time
Test # Proficient % Proficient
Math 3 - Fall 2022-2023 27 29%
Math 3 - Fall 2023-2024 < 10 7.5%
Math 3 - Fall 2024-2025 11 32.4%

English II

English II scores for the 2024-2025 Fall administration are a meaningful improvement over the 2023-2024 Fall English II results. The fall results suggest that the district is trending towards a higher End-of Year proficiency rate for the 2024-2025 school year.

English II Fall EOC Results Over Time
Test # Proficient % Proficient
English II - Fall 2022-2023 26 31.7%
English II - Fall 2023-2024 23 31.9%
English II - Fall 2024-2025 21 38.9%

DIBELS

Dynamic Indicators of Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) assessments are given to students in primary grades to assess their development of key literacy skills. Students take a Beginning-of-Year (BOY), a Middle-of-Year (MOY), and End-of-Year (EOY) Benchmark assessment to measure growth and development over the course of the school year in addition to regular progress monitoring assessments. Students are placed in one of four categories based on their performance on these assessments: Well Below Benchmark, Below Benchmark, At Benchmark, Above Benchmark.

Looking at changes in students benchmark categories from the BOY to MOY assessments gives us an opportunity to assess the impact of our primary literacy programs and to make any necessary adjustments.
