Synopsis
After briefly analyzing the data, there were four location in the
Atlantic and 20 locations on land which were removed resulting in 566
usable detections. With such few data points per shark, it’s hard to
incorporate a Brownian Bridge Movement Model (BBMM). I received errors
that there weren’t enough detections per individual, it could be
possible to do with Shark ID 220464, but doesn’t contribute anything
valuable if every other individual is insufficient.
Instead, I used minimum convex polygons (MCP) to get an idea of how each
shark is using the surrounding water. Often better for understanding
data-poor data-sets, the MCP’s worked for all individuals except 220466
(with only tagging location known). Either way, you can’t tell much
about what these sharks do, but the extent of their movements are
shown.
