Hi, I’m Marianna Bodria! I’m an exchange Italian girl here for the spring semester 2025. I was born in a small city near the Alps in Italy. To pursue my studies I lived in Bologna, Milan, and currently Cincinnati.

My Academic Background

Last spring I applied for an exchange program, and I was selected to spend my final semester here in Cincinnati.

My Professional Background

During my university years, I actively participated in multiple academic projects, including my thesis on “The use of Big Data to support the supply chain: the case of the fashion industry”. I have recently completed an internship at Logic SpA, an avionic company.

My Experience with R

I have been interested in programming languages since the beginning. In high school, I used C++, then during my bachelor’s degree I took a computer science course, where I worked with JavaScript. The Business Analytics course is my first time using R, and I’m curious to learn and explore a new language.

My Hobbies

I played volleyball for several years during middle and high school, and I can say it’s my favorite sport. However, I generally enjoy team sports and spending time with others. I also love traveling, I’ve been lucky enough to explore a good part of Europe, including France, Spain, Germany, and Portugal, but I’ve also been to other places like the UK and South Africa! Another big passion of mine is cooking. I really enjoy it, especially baking, which is one of my favorite pastimes during cold winter weekends.

I love challenging myself!

Marianna just moved to the U.S. for a semester. She wants to bake a cake for her new friends, but there’s a problem her recipe is in grams, and in the U.S., they use pounds.
