Hello! My name is Stewart Shumrick and I appreciate you reading a little bit about me today! I have lived in Cincinnati all my life and currently reside in the Hyde Park/Oakley area on the East side of town. When I am not working at my job or studying, I enjoy reading Sci-Fi books and watching the occasional TV show. Right now, I am currently reading through the Dune books by Frank Herbert and have just finished watching the FX show “The Shield” (I would highly recommend both). The picture above is me visiting the Fushimi Inari shrine in Kyoto, Japan. That entire trip was very impactful to me, and I hope to visit Japan again in the future!
For my Bachelor’s Degree, I studied at the University of Cincinnati and majored in both Finance and Marketing at the Lindner College of Business. Currently, I am working towards a Master’s Degree in Business Analytics, also with Lindner.
I currently work at Fidelity Investments as an Electronic Response Specialist. I enhance relationships with both current and prospective clients by providing account and product information through digital communication channels. I also ensure client requests are processed by working in tangent with other business units in my firm.
I have coded in R before; although, it has been about a year since then and I am still dusting off the cobwebs. My previous class dealt specifically with building regression-based models, so I am looking forward to this class to get a more broad look at cleaning data, loading it into R, and then analyzing it.
I have also worked in both Python and SQL in terms of other Analytic software.
