About Me

My name is Aakanksha Shewale, and I am from Louisville, KY. I am a second-year majoring in Information Systems and Business Analytics with a minor in Public Health. In my free time I like to do arts and crafts, go on a walk, and hang out with friends and family.

Academic Background

At the University of Cincinnati, I am involved in Lindner Business Honors, University Honors Program, Lindner Ambassadors, and Refuge UC. Lindner Ambassadors is an organization that presents the opportunities at Lindner, and gives tours of the college. Refuge UC is a mentorship program aiming to break barriers between refugee students, working with ESL students in local high schools.

Professional Background

In December, I completed two rotations working with The Cincinnati Insurance Companies as a Software Configuration Intern. Through this experience I worked on product operations, agile team collaboration, and cross functional team projects.

Experience with R

Prior to coming in to this class I had no experience working with R. I am looking forward to this semester and learning the language, and increasing my technical knowledge in the realm of data analytics.

Experience with other Analytical Languages

I have worked on other projects in Python, including collaborating on a Sudoku project in high school. Through my internship experience, I have been able to take classes on SQL and gain real-world experience implementing queries.
