Introduction

Hello! I am an aspiring property & casualty actuary as well as a full time student. I have lived in Cincinnati my entire life. I am proud to be a jack of all trades, dabbling in music, literature, philosophy, fitness, volunteering, and gaming.

Academic Background

• Senior Insurance and Risk Management and Business Analytics student at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH

Professional Background

I am currently an intern in the Corporate Actuarial department of American Financial Group in Cincinnati. I help with lots of day to day actuarial work including:

• Rate change filings
• Historical and prospective trend analyses
• Reserve calculations to prepare for future losses
• Tool creation to streamline analyses

I have also worked in other insurance roles assisting agents at the DG Agency in Norwood, OH and underwriters at Great American Insurance Group.

Experience with R

I first encountered R about a year ago and was thrown into the deep end with scenarios that assumed I had more background. Since then I have developed greatly and now use R often at work as well as class. Some of my experiences include:
