Who Am I?

My Name is Jake and I am third year at UC studying Business Analytics with a minor in Sports Administration. I grew up in Toledo, Ohio and now currently reside in Cincy. Some of my hobbies are watching/playing sports, reading, hanging out with my friends, and cooking. A fun fact about me is that I own a share in the Green Bay Packers

Academic Background

I attended Sylvania Southview High School and graduated in 2022. I chose UC over schools like Toledo, OSU, and BG because of the business school and how campus felt closed off from the city, but was still 5 minutes away from any major attraction downtown.

Professional Background

My first internship came to me as a senior is high school where I worked for a local business doing analytics for them. Since coming to college I have been able to secure two internships, one for UC’s athletic department and another for a company for Bimbo Bakeries USA. THe athletics internship I got was great at giving insight on how organizations are ran and I was able to make many connections in the sports world. My BBU Co-Op was a great way to enhance my analytical skills and understand what companies look for when it comes to internal and external results.

Experience with R

I have taken one other class dealing with R, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Our final project was to create three visualizations for a data set of our choice and it was some of the most fun I’ve had academically.

Experience with Other Analytical Software

Outside of R I have really only used Excel. I had some experience with Python but never anything substantial. In my BBU Co-Op I was able to use some software from 84.51 and Circana, although it wasn’t programming.
