Preprocessing, there are many variables with only 1 level, and even more without any entries.The ‘nzv’ command does not remove the variables with more than 10% missing or NA values. A function to drop all columns with corrupted data, missing values and NA’s may help create a cleaner data set.

As evident in the above results, from the Final Models for the Random Forest and Recursive Partitioning and Regression Tree models, it appears the RF models performed best with an out of sample error rate of 25.12%.

Out of sample error rate for the RPART model was 53%.
