• Standard methods make building simple models easy, but building complex models hard.
• Bayesian methods allow us to build complex models easily.
• Incorporate prior information.
• Model uncertainty.
• R and Stan.

Who should attend:

• Experienced data scientists/quantitative background

What:

• Correlation =/= causation
• Often causal relationship is opposite to correlation
• How do we work this out?
• Experimental techniques, “natural experiments”, panel-data, instrumental variables, regression, matching.
• Half theoretical, half applied (in R).

Who:

• Those who need to make decisions with data.
