#What did you like best about the ALEKS assignments?
##
## Alek is my enemy especially the learning assignments because it was usually a topic that we were not currently working on and was something completely random.
## 1
## beig able to practice problems
## 1
## Being able to do extra questions to practice certain topics you aren’t as familiar with.
## 1
## being able to have a variety of questions
## 1
## Explanations and examples
## 1
## Having to repeat topics if I got questions wrong helped to ingrain the idea into my head.
## 1
## Helped you learn how to do topics
## 1
## Homework assignments. Only one question about each topic so you could cover more topics in a faster time.
## 1
## How it provides explanations and examples for each problem.
## 1
## How they challenged me
## 1
## How they would show examples for how to figure out questions
## 1
## I ;liked that it gave you multiple times and extra help if you were stuck on a problem.
## 1
## I can review and study for the exams
## 1
## I didn’t really like them, they were confusing. I liked how you had similar problems each time. The homework I hated. More than half the problems were things we haven’t done or talked about ever
## 1
## I enjoyed the ability to go back and retest myself on the topics.
## 1
## I enjoyed the ALEKS homework assignments because they provided exact examples of what we were learning, and they ultimately helped me on the test
## 1
## I found them to be helpful repetition and a great tool for learning
## 1
## I like best that you can see how much progress you are making throughout the semester. I also like that it has the help button that can walk you through a problem.
## 1
## I like how for tests I can go back and redo the homework assignments from different chapters. I also like how you have to get more than one right to move on to the next topic because then I know I know it.
## 1
## I like how it gave you an explanation if you were stuck on a problem.
## 1
## i like how it gives step by step instructions. if i missed class for some reason, i know i could learn the content because of these assignments.
## 1
## I like how it gives you double credit when you get two questions in a row correct.
## 1
## I like how it has all the info for chapter combines into questions for us to answer.
## 1
## I like how it walks you through the problems instead of just saying your right or wrong
## 1
## i like how you can alwasy retry, so that eventually i learn to subje tr
## 1
## I like how you can go back and review everything and look at examples
## 1
## i like that is guides through and explains the questions and it gives u a lot of problems until you understand it
## 1
## I like that it would explain, in detail, how to do the problems if you got it wrong. Then it makes you retake it to make sure you're doing it right. The repetetion of doing a question correctly three times really solidified the material.
## 1
## I like that the homework is relating to problems that we do more so in class and it’s easier to understand what the question is asking about.
## 1
## I like that there are plenty opportunities to redo problems so I am fully able to understand how to do certain problems. The examples they provide also help me understand how to do problem without getting my answer wrong. I like being able to see how do a problem step by step, which assited me with my ability to do well on the assignments.
## 1
## I like that we could have access to everything ALEKS including the digital notebook and other ways to learn information. I liked that we could keep redoing problems in the case that we didn’t understand it.
## 1
## i like that you have to et it right to move on so it really sticks in your head how to do it
## 1
## I like the adaptive learning more than the homework because I could view examples.
## 1
## I like the ALEKS because I can go back and study them again. Also if I am not sure with something, I can go on there and figure it out myself.
## 1
## I like the homework best because you can go back into them past the due date and refresh your memory.
## 1
## I liked how interactive they were, and how they allowed you to look at explanations and examples.
## 1
## I liked how it covered most types of problems, and helped you a little bit with feedback.
## 1
## I liked how it gave explanations at the bottom to help when I didn’t understand
## 1
## I liked how it reviewed class lecture material.
## 1
## I liked how it shows step by step how to solve a problem. This is very helpful because if you were not paying attention in class you have a second opportunity to understand the material.
## 1
## I liked how it would explain how to do things, when you did not understand them.
## 1
## I liked how the answers were unlimited and gave you guided explanations. Whenever I would be stuck I could read a detailed explanation and if that wasn't enough the textbook version was also given.
## 1
## I liked how they were similar material as the tests and the school work.
## 1
## I liked how you could choose to get an explanation on the topic of the question you were trying to answer. I feel like a lot of times what we learned in class isn't in the same language as ALEKS so getting that extra help from the ALEKS platform itself was really helpful in completing the assignments and knowing how to respond.
## 1
## I liked how you had to master the topic before moving on to ensure you understood the topic. I liked how you could easily access the textbook for extra help. I also liked that the homework gave you more then 1 opportunity to get a 100% on the assignment. I liked how none of it was timed, so I did not feel rushed. It also helped getting an explanation when I got a question wrong
## 1
## I liked our aleks assignments because it allowed me to teach myself the course work. Things that I didn’t understand in the lecture, I was able to review examples and explanations on these assignments.
## 1
## I liked that I could redo when needed and it provided clear explanations
## 1
## I liked that I was able to get a question wrong and was still able to get another question like it to be able to fix it and get full credit. I feel it made me learn the material better.
## 1
## I liked that if I didn’t know the answer it directed me to the text so I could read about it.
## 1
## I liked that it made you get several correct in a row to ensure that I understood the material.
## 1
## I liked that it would explain what you did wrong and how you found that answer.
## 1
## I liked that the ALEKS assignments gave us a chance to practice the knowledge that we have.
## 1
## I liked that the provided good practice problems for me to learn skills in class.
## 1
## I liked that they did a step by step explanation to help you learn.
## 1
## I liked that they provided detailed explanations and you were able to generate similar practice problems to study
## 1
## I liked that they were just a lot of practice; I could also review before an exam and just refresh my memory! They also provided me with a lot more knowledge on problems we might not have gone over during class.
## 1
## I liked the ability to get an explanation and see an example. With some of the ALEKS assignments, though very few, there was some problems that were new and you could get easily lost on what they wanted. So, being able to get that explanation of a problem was very helpful.
## 1
## I liked the ALEKS assignments because I felt like they were a very good practice tool to prepare me for the exams and just to know the content better.
## 1
## I liked the examples it gave, I felt I understood content better after an ALEKS assignment.
## 1
## I liked the explanations for why I did something wrong. This helps me improve for the next time I get a question like that
## 1
## I liked the fact that they had things to help me learn the information, as I am someone who needs examples to do things. I also really liked the adaptative assignments as they sometimes helped me to understand certain concepts that we may have slightly skimmed over in class.
## 1
## I liked the homework assignments because they were always related to what we were learning in class but I didn't like the adaptive learning assignments because often they were on things we didn't learn in class and don't need to know for exams.
## 1
## I liked the learning assignments because it helped me understand the concepts we were learning more.
## 1
## I liked the problems and the help button
## 1
## I liked the unlimited amount of try's. Because it forced you to repeat concepts until you got it correct which really helped things stick.
## 1
## I really like that when you get a question wrong, you get multiple tries. I really dislike homework assignments that give you one shot and you're done. For example, when I get a question wrong, rather than giving me a zero and moving onto the next question, ALEKS offers an explanation as to what I did wrong, and how to approach the problem correctly. Then, ALEKS offers a new question for me to apply what it taught me. I love this feature because it actually helps me learn from my mistake rather than just penalizing me for doing it wrong.
## 1
## I really liked that you had the option of it showing you how to do a certain concept.
## 1
## I really liked the adaptive learning I enjoyed that i would have to get 5 or more correct to continue. When I didn’t it would take some time but I liked that so I could really understand it
## 1
## I think the best part about adaptive assignments was the part that u had to get multiple questions in a row to complete that one section which helps a lot
## 1
## In the adaptive learning assignments, they have me answer 5 questions in a row correctly so it helps me to learn it.
## 1
## it explains how to do the question if you get it wrong
## 1
## It gave an explanation of what I was doing wrong so I could understand it.
## 1
## It gave us examples to look at which helped me preform better in chemistry
## 1
## It gave you a quiz like set up.
## 1
## It gave you multiple choices and explained the problem to you if you got it wrong.
## 1
## It helped me remember information better.
## 1
## It helped prepare us for tests.
## 1
## It made sure I actually understood the content rather than just getting the work done.
## 1
## It related to what we were doing in class
## 1
## It told me what was right and wrong and explained it to me
## 1
## It was easy to use, not confusing set up at all.
## 1
## it was fast
## 1
## it’s like ixl

## 1
## thank you can Check answers
## 1
## That if I needed, it showed me steps to do problems I didn't understand and that they actually helped me learn or get better at concepts.\n
## 1
## That if you fail you can switch it out fro similar problem
## 1
## That it explained the problems you get incorrect.
## 1
## That it told you if it got it right or wrong.
## 1
## That it was extra practice and it had examples and explanation steps on problems that would walk you through the problem which helped me understand.
## 1
## That on the homework assignments there were examples to help you work through the problems, and on the adaptive learning assignments they offered you explanations as to why you got an answer right or wrong.
## 1
## That they explained the questions when you got the wrong and showed you a step by step on what to do.
## 1
## That they help me learn the material
## 1
## The adaptative assignment were way more helpful than the homework assignments
## 1
## The adaptive learning assignments give you feedback and an explanation when you are struggling
## 1
## The ALEKS assignments were good general review for the topics that we learned in class. They were helpful because they let me know what topics I understood and what topics I needed more work on, and then I could base my studying from that
## 1
## The best part of the ALEKS assignments for me was how interactive and flexible they were. Before advancing, the platform makes sure I thoroughly grasp each subject by adjusting to my learning rate. My understanding is strengthened and a solid foundation is created thanks to this individualized approach. Furthermore, I can spot and fix errors in real time thanks to ALEKS's instant feedback, which is great for understanding challenging subjects. The learning process is generally made more efficient and interesting by the integration of flexibility, interaction, and immediate feedback.\n
## 1
## The examples shown to help you understand the content. It is good practice with lots of examples.
## 1
## The explanation portion after getting a question wrong was very helpful to research myself the material.
## 1
## The explanations
## 1
## The explanations it was able to provide
## 1
## The explanations that are built in to help me understand what I did wrong
## 1
## The explanations that helped me understand the topic
## 1
## The homework assignments were helpful because they were more specific to the topics being discussed.
## 1
## The homework assignments were very helpful by giving me example problems. I also found that the questions on the homework assignments were typically harder than on the actual exam, so I think it prepared me well.
## 1
## The homework because the question had more complexity and material in my opinion
## 1
## The homeworks were extremely helpful and I genuienly feel like I learned from them and was competent about it.
## 1
## The learning assignments were very helpful
## 1
## the option to have an explanation with what I did wrong
## 1
## The program gave you examples and explained how to work the problem and why it had that answer. I liked the ability to continue to work towards a goal and get better over the course of the semester. The homework helped me study and refreshed me before exams.
## 1
## The program gives you review questions you can go through in order to prepare for the exams
## 1
## The thing I liked best about the ALEKS assignments were that you only had to complete three questions per topic, and you could move ahead.
## 1
## There were multiple problems in one topic
## 1
## They allowed me to review my incorrect answer and see where I went wrong, which helped me not to make the same mistake in the future. They were also a huge study tool I used for exams.
## 1
## They do a good job of presenting the information. They are really helpful when it comes time to practice a skill you may not be as good at versus in other areas of the chapter.
## 1
## They focused on the materials we learned in class and helped me understand them better.
## 1
## they gave help when needed and werent to terribly hard
## 1
## They gave me different problems that helped me understand concepts better
## 1
## They gave me more review
## 1
## They help me review all the material within that chapter.
## 1
## They helped me prepare for exams and study\n
## 1
## they helped me prepare for my exams and keep up with my work every week
## 1
## They prepared me for in class work and exams
## 1
## They provided examples and many different ways to explain how the problem should be done.
## 1
## They provided help with problems and explanations.
## 1
## They were easy to locate and when I got confused it would offer an explanation to help me.
## 1
## they were helpful
## 1
## they were helpful to learn because of the repetivness
## 1
## They were just easy and helped me study
## 1
## They were my main source of learning the material. The professor went very fast in lectures and didn't spend much time on most topics. ALEKS was incredibly helpful in the sense that I had to teach myself. It was also my main study tool when reviewing for the exams.
## 1
## they were very helpful in explaining topics that i didnt understand
## 1
## Variety of questions
## 1
## When I was struggling there were tools to use that helped teach me through various assignments.
## 1
## You could review after which helped with studying.
## 1
#What would you change about the ALEKS assignments?
##
## ALEKS is very picky on significant figures. I would have the answer correct and I did all of the work for it, but it would say it is wrong because of the amount of sig figs I have in my answer, when I know I answered it to the correct amount. It makes me think I completed the whol question incorrectly.
## 1
## Being able to look at the homework again
## 1
## Change the style of the adaptive assignments so that you don't have to start over if you get too many incorrect.
## 1
## don't do the adaptive learning assignments it just causes a lot of frustration
## 1
## Don't have it be in a row just be able to answer a certain amount right
## 1
## For the adaptive learning assignments I would give example problems
## 1
## For the adaptive, not to restart if you miss them in a row.
## 1
## For the adaptive, to not take away when you get wrong, just get you a total amount of points. And to have an explanation when you get the problem wrong, because obviously I don't know what I am doing wrong.
## 1
## getting questions right in a row was too difficult
## 1
## Have different explanations. Not one fits all learnings
## 1
## having it not require me to take breaks when i'm trying to finish the assignment
## 1
## Having more persistent example problems on the homework.
## 1
## homework needs to be a little easier or have more step by step instructions
## 1
## How long they are.
## 1
## How messing up on an adaptive assignment set me back significantly when done multiple times in a row.
## 1
## How they challenged me
## 1
## How to work out the problem if you got it wrong\n.
## 1
## I believe that the regular courses on ALEKS did not really help me because the questions were vague and we’re a little too complicated
## 1
## I cannot think of anything I would change about the ALEKS assignments.\n
## 1
## I did not like the adaptive learning because I’d be doing good and then when I’d make a typo, it would restart me completely which frustrated me beyond belief
## 1
## I didn't like how on the adaptive assignments you had to continuously keep getting them right to move on. When I didn't understand certain concepts this got to be very frustrating.
## 1
## I didn't necessarily like how the adaptive learning would take you back a question if you got one wrong. I think it should just keep you at the same progress. While I understood why it was doing this, it was still frustrating at times.
## 1
## I didn’t prefer to do the adaptive learning assignments because they generally took more time
## 1
## I don’t like how you have to get a certain amount in a row, cause it can be frustrating if you get one wrong and then you overthink
## 1
## I don’t like that the topics covered in the learning assignments are not the same things covered in the homework
## 1
## I don't think I would change anything!
## 1
## I don't think some of the questions related to our class.
## 1
## I don't think there is anything I would change about them.
## 1
## I think explaining better would be good or some videos to show how to do some of the things i
## 1
## I think the assignments were great. I could start them and follow along during the week as the assignments were in line with what we were learning during the week.
## 1
## I wish it wasn't so picky on certain things. An example is in the Adaptive learning assignments, which would mark the whole question as wrong because there wasn't a zero in front of the decimal or there wasn't a decimal point after a whole number when there was no need for a decimal point.
## 1
## I would change how on Aleks it takes you back a question if you get it wrong so from 3 to 2 out of 5 until you have to re-do them all .
## 1
## I would change how specific it is about significant figures, and have it not take off points if the section is not about significant figures.
## 1
## I would change how specific the answers need to be
## 1
## I would change how they do not let you work on something if you get it wrong too many times.
## 1
## I would change how you can't go back and do the adaptive learning assignments because sometimes there are questions different there than they are on the homework and some of those questions may be on the test.
## 1
## I would change the ALEKS Adaptive learning assignments as it was frustrating when you got one problem wrong and it set you back so much.
## 1
## I would change the amount of questions they ask.
## 1
## I would change the fact that it takes you back to zero questions right if you get one wrong. I wish it would just stay the same and not progress until you get one right.
## 1
## I would change the length of the assignments.
## 1
## I would change the way they take back points on the adaptive learning assignments. When you answer a question wrong, they automatically take back points which can be frustrating if you mistyped or made a common mistake when answering.
## 1
## I would have the adaptive assignment relooked at for some of the units because there was some units where the adaptive assignment was too difficult to complete or it did not make sense with the unit that we were currently on.
## 1
## I would like if the questions were a little clearer
## 1
## I would make a "middle of the year" 'quiz'. Just to review on stuff that people haven't used in a while to make sure that they don't need to study it some more. Not necessarily taking away from their adaptive learning assignments but giving them an area that they can work on for the final exam.
## 1
## I would make it so you don't lose progress if you get a question wrong on the adaptive learning assignments.
## 1
## I would make more examples and videos for each topic on the ALEKS assignments.
## 1
## I would make the explanations when you get something wrong easier to understand.
## 1
## I would make them shorter as sometimes they are very time consuming.
## 1
## I would not change much about the assignments; overall they were relatively easy to complete, did not take too much time, and were beneficial to studying and understanding the topics
## 1
## I would say maybe not so many topics to learn. I felt overwhelmed at times, but I thought the assignments were very effective, it just took a lot of my time up.
## 1
## I would want to be able to view examples on the homework as well.
## 1
## I would want to have the option do repeat adaptive learning assignments and homework repeatedly for more practice.
## 1
## I wouldn't change anything
## 1
## I wouldn’t change anything
## 1
## I wouldn't change anything about the ALEKS assignments.
## 1
## I wouldn't change anything, it helped me learn concepts well.
## 1
## id dont like these assignments at all \n
## 1
## idk
## 1
## If I could change anything I would ask for more textbook definition questions. ALEKS is only mainly math problems but for success on exam for book knowledge would help.
## 1
## make the adaptive learning assignment shorter
## 1
## Make the adaptive learning assignments related to what we're learning in class.
## 1
## Make them longer. I feel they were kind of to short to really get the information through.
## 1
## Make them shorter
## 1
## Make them shorter because sometimes it would take me nearly two hours to complete one assignment.
## 1
## maybe every other 2 weeks for assignments so its less stressful
## 1
## Maybe put additional not mandatory assignments like the learning assignments.
## 1
## More time to complete them, I feel like if you get stuck and arent able to complete a module you are stuck there until you eventually figure it out

## One thing I would change about the ALEKS assignments is the pacing and flexibility. Sometimes, the assignments can feel a bit repetitive, especially if I'm already comfortable with a particular topic. It would be helpful if there were more options to skip or fast-track through sections where I demonstrate proficiency. Additionally, incorporating more varied types of questions and interactive elements could make the assignments more engaging. This way, the learning experience could be more dynamic and tailored to individual progress and preferences.\n\n\n
## 1
## questions that are closer to what we learned in class, some were very very challenging to complete because we did not learn the concept to that extent
## 1
## shorter
## 1
## shorter.
## 1
## Some of the adaptive assignments were really challenging and the ALEKS was a little inconsistent.
## 1
## Some of the content on aleks was not what we learned in class, or the math was done different than what we learned in class. Often times the aleks was more difficult.
## 1
## Some of the conversion problems were weird. There were a couple of problems out of the semester that were hard to understand. But overall I really enjoyed ALEKS assignments.
## 1
## some of the questions don’t make since on the adaptive learning
## 1
## Some of the times the questions did not reflect what we were learning in the lecture. I would probably change some of the questions or make sure they reflected what we were learning at the time.
## 1
## Some of them I felt didn't align with the things we were learning in class
## 1
## Some topics were significantly harder than others. For example there was on topic I couldn’t complete for the life of me, but I’ve already completed the all the other topics. Alek would tell you take a break from that topic and try another one after so many failed attempts. Normally that would be fine but like I stated before all my other topics were complete, therefore, I couldn’t continue with the assignment until hours or days later. I personally don’t like that because it’s frustrating that it stops you.
## 1
## Something I would change about the ALEKS assignments would be how long or how hard the questions were. Maybe have less questions if the assignment is going to take you more than an hour.
## 1
## Sometimes it barely correlated to what we were learning/what was on exams
## 1
## The 3 correct in a row to get past a topic, and just make it like the homework, and make it questions with multiple attempts.
## 1
## The adaptive assignments were not helpful
## 1
## The adaptive learning assignments seemed to be going faster than we were in class which ws confusing at times.
## 1
## The adaptive learning, if you get one wrong it sets you back, so I would change that.
## 1
## The adaptive learning. I have never been more frustrated in my LIFE than completing those. The answers were so picky and gave little to no help in explanations. You also could not finish the assignment until making your progress goal and if you got one question wrong it sets you back. They are so frustrating and I cannot remember most of the things I was learning in them.
## 1
## The adaptive ones can be too long especially if you don’t understand something it takes a lot of time
## 1
## The amount of work
## 1
## the consistency questions
## 1
## The explanations don't really make sense when you get something wrong or it doesn't tell you what you got wrong\n
## 1
## the fact that if you get one wrong it completely reset you
## 1
## The fact that it makes you redo problems if you miss one.
## 1
## The only change I would make is with the adaptive assignments giving you more than one chance to fix a problem.
## 1
## The repetition of the assignments were frustrated, missing on question set me back.
## 1
## The significant figures can be so confusing for what they want
## 1
## The way it gets rid of my points so quickly once I make a mistake, I get very frustrated very fast.
## 1
## There were some problems that weren't demonstrated in class
## 1
## they were helpful
## 1
## videos that go with the assignments
## 1
## What I would change is the fact that they take off points if you get a question wrong, which makes sense but makes it harder then it should be
## 1
## wish we could go back to hw assignments
## 1
## With the adaptive learning assignments, there should be a step-by-step of solving the problem, just like the homework!
## 1
