More Information on Social Media Overlaps
  • Heatmap Table: This heatmap is shows the percentages of people that use a certain platform that use other platforms. For example, we see that 80.6% of people that use X(Twitter) also use Facebook. This is very useful to marketers as they can see what platform they should use to reach the biggest audience. From this heatmap, if the tile is green, the platform on the X axis is a good spot to market compared to others. We want to ignore the 100% tiles as they don’t mean anything (because obviously 100% of Tiktok Users use Tiktok). The data is telling us that Facebook and Instagram are the 2 best platforms to market on, as users from other platforms have a better chance of also seeing it.

  • Area Plot: This area plot helps show the total overlap for each social media platform, while also showing how much each platform overlaps. The higher the area goes, the more overlap it has.
