In your own words, why did you vote for [SELECTED_CANDIDATE]?
SELECTED_CANDIDATE_t2 | why_t2 |
---|---|
Donald Trump | I did not agree with Kamala’s policies and based on past performance with Biden I did not think things would get better under her. |
Donald Trump | Donald Trump is the presidential candidate that will do the best in the job and the best recovering our struggling economy. We need someone in the oval office that knows what he’s doing and has shown a great track record, that’s not Kamala Harris. |
Cornel West | He best aligns with my values and morals. He wants to not only make sure the people of this country are taken care of with dignity and justice, he also wants to expand that throughout the world. |
Donald Trump |
Because I’m sick of seeing hostile foreign nationals come into my country illegally, get benefits we don’t even extend to our fellow citizens and then immediately start trashing the country and abusing the populace. It’s time for them to go home. |
Kamala Harris | Because I would not vote for Trump. I prett ymuch only had one choice. To be clear, I don’t like harris but that was my option and that is what I had to do. |
Kamala Harris | because i couldn’t stomach the idea of another trump presidency even more than i couldn’t stomach voting for her. |
Kamala Harris | I didn’t want to go back to the chaos that there was when Trump was president. I think MAGA is disgusting. This is the first year I have voted blue. I didn’t really vote for Kamala as much as I voted against Trump. |
Kamala Harris | i wanted to see women finally get the power they deserve. Women are the backbone of America without them the cycle of life would not go on. I also am all about climate change and support abortion under the right circumstances as well |
Kamala Harris | I despise Donald Trump and everything he stands for. I felt like Kamala could bring the country together. |
Kamala Harris | l felt that overall her and her administration would have been better for the nation. I don’t believe she would be much better than Trump given that she’s more of a neo-lib, but I think she would have been a better choice and president than Trump. |
Kamala Harris | because she was whom I thought would bring America together again and she was fair to all people not just a select group. |
Donald Trump | I like his policies on the economy and illegal immigration. Also, Harris was a horrible candidate and not at all competent to be President. |
Cornel West | It was more of a protest vote because I did not think any of the two major candidates would be good for the job of running the country |
claudia de la cruz | dems and reps are both evil in very different ways. peace and freedom has a strong socialist platform. i live in california so i didn’t feel the need to support either d or r |
Kamala Harris | Initially I was not going to vote for Kamala Harris because of her campaign’s embracing of far right domestic and foreign policies (immigration, economics, and the lack of accountability towards Israel’s ongoing genocide). Ultimately I decided to vote for her because I was convinced that under Trump we would have to be organizing to protect basic functions of the federal government (like vaccines or education) rather than organizing on higher order issues like foreign policy. |
Kamala Harris | Because I thought she might be the lesser of the two evils in this election. And that four more years of Trump would be too much. |
Donald Trump | I don’t particularly like him, but the Democratic policies on immigration, crime, free speech, women’s sex-based rights, and more are so abhorrent to me I couldn’t imagine another four years of dealing with them. |
Kamala Harris | As much as I preferred Trump on the economy, I was worried about civility and potential rollbacks in government and science and the increase of racism and bigotry. The energy has been so negative and I hate it. |
Kamala Harris | Because she is extremely qualified and the best choice. Even though she was the best choice I would vote for anyone else other than Donald Trump. |
Donald Trump | I appreciate his conservative viewpoints. I also believe that he is going to put the American people first. He is for a more traditional way of life. |
Chase Oliver | I am a libertarian and so is he so it was natural that I would vote for the candidate my party has presented. Bluntly, I agree with a lot of libertarian goals and ideas so I want to see those candidates in power and I will vote to help make it happen. |
Donald Trump | I voted for Donald Trump because I felt like he was the least worse option; Kamala Harris didn’t do anything in her term. |
Donald Trump | I simply couldn’t vote for Harris as she seems following Biden admissions approach. I think the country need a change in major policies |
Kamala Harris | I thought she was the lesser of two evils and represented more of my interests. The policies she proposed enticed me more than what Trump proposed, I also liked the way she carried herself. |
Donald Trump | Because the economy is crap and I want to be able to afford things. I have a good job, and inflation is crazy |
Jill Stein | Honestly, I was not happy with both Trump and Harris. I feel as though they were both terrible options in their own way. The both brought bad things on each side. I wanted to exercise my right to vote, so I voted with someone else. |
Donald Trump | For the economy, the immigration crisis, to hopefully help remove us from proxy wars that cost billions of dollars, and because Kamala didn’t really run on anything. I would have gladly voted for RFK, but they ran him out of the party. |
Donald Trump | I voted for Donald Trump because he had more support and concerns by the strong republicans, so as a republican party we support this party and he is one who elects as president twice |
Donald Trump | Best man and qualified for the job, the other opponent only spread hate her entire campaign, its gonna take four years to undo the sever damage done to our country |
Kamala Harris | Her policies most closely aligned with my personal values. Tim Walz being her Vice-Presidential pick I felt was a good choice as well. |
Donald Trump | I felt like between the two candidates, he was the better choice that aligned with my policy beliefs, despite his personality. |
Kamala Harris | I felt that Harris was the better selection versus Trump. However my vote for her was as much of a vote against Trump than anything else. Neither party has nominated reasonable candidates since 2014 |
Donald Trump | Because it was the least worse option and because of that I voted on him. I think he has good ideas for the economy and that is the reason I voted on him |
Kamala Harris | I liked what she stood for on women’s rights and I thought she would be a fresh change as we had lived through a Trump presidency already. I don’t like how he talks to people. |
Donald Trump | I am just so upset with what the Democrats have done in the past four years with Biden in office. Between the immigrants flooding into our cities and inflation going through the roof I just could not see voting for another Democrat. I feel like this country absolutely had to turn in another direction. |
Donald Trump | I thought he was a better candidate than Kamala Harris, she seemed inept and fake. He also gets on my nerves but at least I feel he will fix some glaring things like the economy and rampant homelessness. |
Kamala Harris | I wanted to see the positive change of having a woman as president and someone that was actually perfect for the job. I was very scared of Trump getting office again mostly but I liked Kamala’s policies and how she was going to help the less fortunate in this country like the lower and middle class. |
Kamala Harris | I am a democrat and in california, she was an automatic win. I dont really think she was the most qualified but I preferred her over Trump. So I basically votd for her because I wanted to keep voting democratic. |
Chase Oliver | I feel that we need a change away from the same two parties in this country. I think smaller government, less government intrusion into our lives and keeping as much of your money as possible is the best thing. I also think spending is out of control and no one will do anything about it except Libertarians. |
Kamala Harris | I wanted a change in the status quo, I believed in everything she stood for, and more importantly, she wasn’t a convicted felon. |
Kamala Harris | I thought that she would have a better chance of unifying the country I felt that Trump is too dangerous and worried that he would end up in jail before his term ended. |
Donald Trump | I’m not a huge fan of Trump, but the overwhelming reason I voted for him, is because I have male children ages 16 and 14. Both will be draft eligible before the next presidential term ends. Biden, and by association, Harris has done nothing to stop the endless wars. I don’t want my kids dragged into any war, therefore, I will deal with the other stuff about Trump I don’t care for, to make sure that doesn’t happen. |
Donald Trump | I do not like the way Kamala Harris was nominated without receiving a single vote in the primaries, it’s like she was just given the position simply because of her gender and race. It made me angry when President Biden called half the country trash, later trying to walk back his comments, which I didn’t believe. Kamala Harris did not say anything about the comments. I think Trump is going to be better when it comes to securing the southern border. I think Trump is going to be better for the economy and reducing inflation. |
Chase Oliver | I didn’t like either of the main party candidates and I agree most with the political ideas of the Libertarian Party. |
Chase Oliver | It was the lesser of all evils. I was so unmotivated by every other candidate that I just didn’t really care that much |
Kamala Harris | I voted for Kamala Harris because I believe she was the only choice to assure our democratic institutions, especially checks and balances, would be not only maintained but also strengthened. |
Kamala Harris | She was less unpalatable than former president Trump. I thought she would represent the country in a more favorable light. |
Donald Trump | I voted for Donald Trump because I felt he was the best candidate out of all the options available. I agree with him about the economy and immigration for the most part. I liked his policies better. |
Donald Trump | Failed democratic policies that led to an increase in crime, illegal immigration and extreme inflation. Failing to secure the border is a dereliction of duty. It places lives of American citizens and this country in danger. Individuals want to feel safe and democrat policies failed to provide that safety. |
Donald Trump | Kamala Harris pretty much ran on I am a woman of color and I am from the middle class. She had no real policies that I could make out, she like Joe Biden, I believe would have continued doing the bare minimum and continue virtue signaling. Under Joe Biden my life and other people’s lives have been made so much worse. Donald Trump is an ass but the democrats aren’t working for me any more. |
Donald Trump | I trust Donald Trump. I know who he is, and what he stands for. I don’t agree on all his views and believes, I do believe he is what’s best for the United States. The world seemed to be in a better place while Donald was the president, especially finances. I lost trust with the Biden team. And I was scared of what Kamala would have brought upon us. |
Chase Oliver | It was more of a vote against Trump and Harris than a vote for Oliver. I honestly don’t know much about the guy, I just knew that I couldn’t stomach voting for Donald Trump and Kamala Harris’s values do not line up with mine. |
Kamala Harris | She thought of better ways dealing with immigrants rather than deporting them. Her agendas were better and were aligning almost with the things I wanted them change |
Donald Trump | I voted for Donald Trump because I didn’t like where the country was going. I voted for him because he supports law enforcement. |
Donald Trump | I voted for hope of economy recovery. the democrats did nothing to improve the economy and everything went down the toilet because of them |
Donald Trump | I feel that Donald Trump actually does care about America and the American people. He is not the villain that Harris and the Democrats try to make him out to be. He will give us safe boarders, remove illegal aliens, bring manufacturing back to this country so we can be more self sufficient and not rely on having to get our products from overseas. He is the first president I have ever heard of that said he will clean up our food supply, which is complete garbage compared to other countries that have banned many of the toxins that our current government allows manufacturers to lace our food with making us sick and unhealthy |
Donald Trump | Because he has a good leader. And he is very intelligent person also. And he had a lot of experience. And he also help poor people.Lot of good laws should be made for trump. |
Jill Stein | Her political beliefs are the most similar to mine. She was the only candidate to support cutting off aid to Irsael. |
Kamala Harris | She did a lot for the nonhumans and I am a vegan. She could have done so much more for them being the president. |
Donald Trump | because he is for the American people and will make our country strong and respected again. He will fix the economy, bring peace to the world, and heal our country from the damage caused by the past four years of the Biden Harris administration. he will stop illegal immigration secure our borders and build the wall. |
Kamala Harris | I felt as if many issues we face needed a bit of a woman’s touch in order to get many things under control that our country is facing while still remaining to be a free country with a caring nature. The influx of immigrants everyone’s worried about still needs a caring hand to give a deserving life while addressing the very little crime that’s come from it. And the verge of world War we’re facing, i feel it needs a strong woman’s touch! |
Kamala Harris | I voted for Kamala Harris because she is pro-choice. I believe that women should have the right to choose what happens to their bodies. |
Condoleezza Rice | I couldn’t in good conscience vote for either Mr. Trump because he isn’t a good leader and only wants the job for personal reasons. I couldn’t vote for Mrs. Harris because her political views go against mine. So Mrs. Rice sounded like a good choice. |
Donald Trump | Because I have a 15 year old son and I am afraid that Kamala Harris would be advised by the same people that are advising Biden and sleepwalking us into WW3. |
Kamala Harris | I voted for Kamala Harris because I believe in women’s rights, the rights of the average person (versus corporations), and the future of democracy. I strongly dislike and distrust Trump. I think he spews very hateful and negative rhetoric that will hurt our country and democracy as a whole. |
Jill Stein | She represents my views the best. I agree with her ideologically. Her stances on gaza, the environment, and social services are in line with my own. |
Donald Trump | Hoping with Trump as President the US will see an end to the Ukraine - Russia conflict and an end to the Israel - Hamas - Iran - Hezbollah conflict. Hope that China gets reined in. Hope that the US comes up with a coherent immigration policy especially for those immigrates that came to the US through legal channels. Hope for lower taxes and stability in the house insurance market across the United States. Hope to see more manufacturing jobs brought back to the US. Voted for Trump strictly for financial and economic reasons. I don’t think Trump is a nice person. Based on what he says publicly and his rhetoric, I don’t think he is a good role model for America’s youth. If either of my sons grow up to emulate Trump, I will be ashamed of myself as a their father - I will think that I have failed as a parent. |
Donald Trump | I am more confident with his position on crime, immigration and the economy. While he has his drawbacks, I feel there will be change when he assumes office again. Unlike Kamala Harris, who will probably give us more of the same. |
Donald Trump | I feel like a change was needed. I don’t always agree with his delivery on things, but I do think he wants what is best for the United States. I feel that Kamala is more of the same of what we have had the past four years, and I don’t think the last four years have been good for the United States. She kept preaching needing change and all the things she was going to do, I’m not understanding why she didn’t try to do any of those things RIGHT NOW |
Kamala Harris | I believe she has the right characteristics and can do very well for the whole country at large and also she’s capable |
Kamala Harris | I voted for Kamala because mostly she was not Trump. While I was not very excited about her, she tried her best to come across as genuine. |
Donald Trump | I personally feel he’s the best candidate to improve the economy for the country. I don’t agree with him on everything but there are simply somethings were we align politically. |
Donald Trump | We need things done in this country. I’m hoping to set up Vance for 2028. I am hopeful that Trump allows Vance a lot of freedom to show what he can do. |
Donald Trump | He is a republican candidate and i admire his policies and commitments. Also because this is a two-person race and the other person is far worse in my view. She is not leveling with the American people as to who she really is. The fact that she is repudiating the many positions she took on major issues in the past is very objectionable. All of a sudden, she is tough on illegal immigration, border security, and crime. She refuses to acknowledge the policies pursued by the administration she was part of has led to the worse inflation in the last 40 years. Her inability to explain herself and primarily converse in word salads and cliches are insulting to voters who want to know how she is going to improve their lives. |
Kamala Harris | Because I’m a never trumper. We don’t put someone in office because of their character and principles, but because they will keep us safe and profitable. |
Kamala Harris | I chose Kamala, because she was the lesser of two evils. But to be honest, I didn’t want to vote for either of them. |
Kamala Harris | Because as a woman my rights were not going to be stripped away. I thought she would give a better chance to the middle class while taxing the rich what they deserve. I think the tariff tax Trump wanted to impose would decimate businesses |
Kamala Harris | Donald trump is a disaster. He has won, and he now has a republican senate, house and supreme court. He can do whatever he wants and he has promised to do terrible things not only to my fellow human beings, but to the economy as well. |
Donald Trump | I voted for him because I believe he has a plan to fix the economy in the United States and fix inflation which is the most pressing issue in the United States right now. |
Donald Trump | he is kind of suitable,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,…………………………………………………………………………… |
Donald Trump | Donald Trump has the best agenda to help America. He has proven experience and plans to get America back where it needs to be. |
Donald Trump | I felt I understood his campaign ideals and plan of action better than Kamala Harris. I also felt that he was more prepared to serve as president. |
Donald Trump | I mainly voted for him for his stance on immigration. I think that the way immigration has been handled that it is definitely a security risk. I am fine with immigration as long as is it done legally. We have completely and totally lost control. No other country just lets people show up with no way of supporting themselves. I am hopeful that he will be able to get a handle on what is going on in Israel and Ukraine and de escalate things. I personally didn’t care for either choice and I am saddened that these 2 choices were the best we have to offer. |
Jill Stein | Kamala Harris is currently funding and supporting a genocide and has been for over a year. Voting against her for the party most likely to help her be defeated is the least I could do to hold her accountable for her actions as VP in this administration. |
Kamala Harris | We needed change and honor for our country. I wanted universal health care and I thought she could possibly deliver. |
Kamala Harris | I thought she was the best suited for the position. Trump is to emotionally unreliable his policies will divide instead of unite the country, |
Kamala Harris | it was my first time voting and i felt rushed to pick someone since there was a lot of words on the ballot i wan’t sure if i was allowed to vote for multiple people so i only voted for kamala since i knew i didn’t want to vote for trump. |
Jill Stein | Because I did not think that Trump or Harris would be a good president leading our country. I didn’t want either one to win. But it is what it is. |
Donald Trump | He is what our country needed in regards to immigration, the econonmy and crime. I do not agree with everything he does or says and really wish somebody would take his cell phone away this administration so he cannot post on social media but I just feel he was the right choice. |
Kamala Harris | My wife coerced me into voting for Kamala against my wishes over my previously decided third-party candidate. |
Jill Stein | The genocide in Gaza and wars Bringing liz cheney on the stage general economy and lack of trust in democrats |
Donald Trump | Like him or not he loves America and the people. He truly loves this nation and wants it to prosper four years to come. |
Donald Trump | Because Kamela is desperate for power, but done nothing to deserve it. Her party lied through their teeth to get power and done nothing in the past 4 years for the people. She will continue to let un-vetted illegal migrants into the country and let criminals get away with atrocities. Also I wanted to see if Trump would release the Epstine files and release who all was caught with the Diddler. |
Kamala Harris | Because I believe in democracy and the rule of law. Harris would also protect women’s rights and codify the right for abortion. She also was going to help with small businesses and first time home buyers. I felt like she would fight the working people while Trump only wants to help the rich. |
Jill Stein | Because the democratic part option offered me nothing this time. I have always voted for the democrats because every time they have had something to offer regarding social reforms. Kamala Harris had nothing to offer, except trump is bad, don’t vote for him. I need better options from the Democratic Party |
Donald Trump | Kamala is a prosecutor and she has put many innocent black people behind bars for even as small as marijuana charges. |
Jill Stein | I voted for Jill Stein in 2012 and 2016 as well. I believe people should vote their values, not the “lesser of two evils”. I’m Palestinian, the Biden-Harris administration is complicit in the genocide of my people, and I refused to give them my vote. Harris did not value Arab or Muslim votes and was often condescending (“I’m speaking”), while Trump made an effort to meet with those voters. |
Kamala Harris | because it was the best hope for immigrants, I didn’t like Trump or Harris but I thought Harris was more sympathetic with latinos |
Kamala Harris | Mostly because I felt that Donald Trump is incompetent. I didn’t have a lot of faith in Kamala Harris but she seemed better than the alternative. |
Kamala Harris | Because she wasn’t Donald Trump. He just offends me as a woman and I get nauseous every time I hear him speak. I just wanted a bit of ethics and kindness in our highest office. I wanted someone I could respect. I didn’t agree with all of her policies and actually vote Republican quite often but I felt that she was trying to make our country a better place with a less divisive platform. I just find the constant fighting and his speech is just exhausting. |
Donald Trump | i voted for Trump because of some of his policies , some are Economic policies focused on tax cuts, deregulation, and job creation. Stricter immigration policies and border security measures. Conservative judicial appointments. “America First” foreign policy approach Opposition to progressive social policies, Promises to combat inflation and reduce government spending |
Donald Trump | i belong to a republican party and trump’s supported tax cuts and deregulation as a factor that contributed to economic growth. i believed his policies will help create more business friendly environment. Also there was foreign policy and military strength which was very beneficial. Trump pursued the agenda of reducing federal regulations, particularly in industries like energy, finance and agriculture. there was also commitment to individual freedom, the appointment of judicial |
Kamala Harris | I really dislike Trump and am very nervous about what happens in the next 4 years. I think voting for Harris was a vote to move back into the right direction with American politics. Professional people who at least operate under the guise of respecting one another. Politics is now a clown show. |
Donald Trump | I worry about the influence of government on tech companies to suppress free speech, the border being opened by democrats by, the allowing of trans women to compete against cis women in sports (subjecting women to unfair and unsafe competition), i worry about the possibility of government to tax UNREALIZED capital gains, I worry about the cost of energy and the democrats role in inflating gasoline prices, I worry about being targeted for my political beliefs, I worry about the national debt (we need to cut spending), I worry about how much money we’re giving away to foreign countries (Ukraine and Israel alike), I worry about my ability to pay my bills and provide for my family. |
Donald Trump | He was straight forward with his messages and made better points as to correct past administration issues. He also has been President before and the economy was improving. He will bring home the Military. |
Donald Trump | I voted for him because he was better at handling the economy and he did a pretty good job at helping the world be more peaceful. The Harris team loves war way too much. I’m looking forward to prices being reasonable again. |
Kamala Harris | because I thought she was going to help women with their rights. To make sure that the economy gets better and for immigration. |
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. | Because I am an Independent. Also because I just am not supportive of Harris or Trump. I felt I couldn’t decide which on of them were the lesser of two evils. |
Donald Trump | It was basically for me “between the devil and the deep blue sea”. At least with Trump, you know what to expect. With Harris, I did not have a clue what her plan would be, what she really wanted to do as President. She is weak and I do not think the world would respect her at all. I can handle whatever as long as I know what I am facing. With Harris, I did not have a clue. |
Jill Stein | I felt that she was only candidate that was serious about making the necessary changes in this country that would help make it a better place for all people and not just the elites that manipulate things behind the scenes with their money and influence. |
Donald Trump | I do not like that the democrats pushed social issues i don’t agree with; I would prefer trump’s picks for a supreme court nominee |
Kamala Harris | I did not like Trumps stance on abortion. Honestly, if there was another democratic candidate I would have been happier. But she was all I had. |
Kamala Harris | For me it was less of a vote for Kamala Harris and more of a vote against Donald Trump (a whole lot of good that did). I didn’t particularly think her policies were good but Trump is just nuts. |
Donald Trump | The main two issues were the state of the economy and immigration. Current global politics was also an important issue. He seemed more promising when considering these factors. |
Kamala Harris | I felt she was better suited for the job. We needed something different in the White House. She would have been better at Uniting the country. |
Kamala Harris | She stands for democracy and working class families. She isn’t racist and doesn’t incite hate. She would be the first female President and I loved that. |
Donald Trump | I felt like Donald Trump was the best of the two candidates. He may have not been perfect but he definitely had better plans for our country than Harris. I feel like our economy and immigration are big issues and Donald Trump’s plans aligned with my thoughts. |
Chase Oliver | The libertarian party platform most closely aligns with my beliefs and principles. I hoped my vote would end up being one of many more for this party, so the stranglehold the major two parties have can be undone. |
Donald Trump | Because he is a strong leader. Not always liked but he is more fit than Kamala. His presidency was a good run before and Kamala as a Vice President was not. He does more and more people fear jim as far as world leaders. He was criticized and his life spared twice. No other president as of late has been put through the mess he has been put through. |
Donald Trump | Because I feel as if he is the person that is most willing to deliver on his promises and take this country in a positive direction. |
Donald Trump | I like his ideas. He was a good president before. I think he’ll do a good job got out country…… |
I left the presidential vote blank | There were zero viable candidates for president. I voted for all other offices and referendums. I couldn’t vote for someone supporting Israel and I sure couldn’t vote for a fascist and convicted felon. |
Donald Trump | First, because I am a Republican. Second, because he will stand up for the things that I believe in. Third, because he knows far better how to run this country and get it back on track after 4 disastrous years by Biden. |
Jill Stein | She was the candidate with the closest policy beliefs as me. I felt that she would represent me the most. Plus, she was the only anti-genocide candidate available on my ballot which was my biggest reason for voting for her. |
Kamala Harris | I felt that she was the best candidate to move the country forward and her stance on womens reproductive rights |
Donald Trump | He helped the economy when he was in office last time, that’s the main reason. I think he is better overall for our country than Harris. |
Donald Trump | He seems like a better leader for the economy and immigration. We didn’t have any wars when he was president. Although I don’t care for his personality, I think he is the better option of the two. |
Donald Trump | Candidate with plausible odds of winning and the policy platform that would/will most plausibly lower taxes and leave me alone to create or transact for the goods and services that I need for my well-being and flourishing. |
Kamala Harris | Despite her despicable, unconditional support of Israel’s genocide against Palestinians, I woke up yesterday morning (Election Day) feeling as though I had no other choice. I did not want to hold any fault for another Trump presidency, and I could not waste my vote. |
Kamala Harris | I think that Donald Trump is very unfit to be president and that he’s a threat to our economic stability, global peace, and American democracy. |
Jill Stein | I voted for Jill Stein because I live in a safe blue state and wasn’t compelled to vote for Kamala as the lesser evil candidate because of her relatively safe chance of victory in my state. |
Kamala Harris | Because I’m a woman who had a complicated pregnancy and I’m for women’s rights. I believe women should be able to do choose what they want to do with their bodies. |
Kamala Harris | I voted for Kamala because she shared a lot of the same views that I believe in. I figured she would be a good candidate. Harris stands out to me as the only choice. I get to vote for a woman whose policies will benefit the middle class instead of the rich, who believes in my right to my body, who believes in common sense gun laws, and who unequivocally will accept the results of the election for the good of the people. |
Kamala Harris | I voted for her because I liked the policy’s she covers. I liked that she was willing to protect the right to get an abortion. I liked she was willing to address the climate issues. I like she wanted to ban police from using chokeholds and no knock warrants. |
Donald Trump | Donald Trump had better ideals because he thinks as a conservative.I like that he says that he will make America great again. |
Donald Trump | First I’d like to say, I intended to vote for Harris, I was and still em concerned what a trump winning is going to mean for Ukraine, with that said, for myself, it came down to which one I’d regret less over the next 4 years, it was still a hard choice. |
Kamala Harris | I dislike Trump quite a bit more than Harris and did not want to throw away a vote with a write in candidate. I wasn’t excited about voting for Harris as I dont really trust her but to me she was simply the lesser of two bad candidates. |
Donald Trump | i feel he is smart and would be able to make some necessary decisions. he would also be able to solve wars issues. he is a christian and would make good laws concerning the religion and also phase out issues concerning the gender wars. |
Donald Trump | He has done the job before. He knows what needs to be done. He has alot of knowledge about politics and how it works. He has a clear and precise plan for the next four years. He will do a great job once again to bring back jobs. Bring back the economy make gas prices reasonable again. Bring food cost done |
Kamala Harris | some of her policies, like addressing grocery prices and student loan forgiveness would positively affect me. I also think trump is very unqualified. |
Kamala Harris | I didn’t think that the other major candidate projects the values I felt we should embrace as a nation. I want to tell my kids that we are just and noble. |
Donald Trump | Because the current administration allowed millions of illegals in our country and have funded wars with no attempt at diplomacy |
Kamala Harris | I voted for Kamala Harris because Donald Trump shouldn’t be president. He’s a felon and caused riots. |
Donald Trump | The economy, crime, and the southern border. Prosperity, safety, putting America first. Stability and peace. |
Jill Stein | Because she was a vocal opponent of the genocide being committed by the US and Israel in Gaza and stands against corporate totalitarianism. Also because she came to Benton Harbor and marched with Reverend Pinkney years ago. |
Donald Trump | Trump is a strong leader and has some good ideas plus he knows business and has been in office before |
Kamala Harris | I felt she was the one who would keep peace in politics. I feel she is someone who I could trust. |
Kamala Harris | I didn’t want to vote for her, but because it’s ultimately a two party system I felt like I had no choice. I didn’t agree with her on a lot of stuff but better her than a convicted felon |
Chase Oliver | I’m a life long Republican and while politically I align with Trump, personally I’ve never been able to vote for him as I don’t think he believes in anything. I couldn’t vote for Harris as her whole campaign was that she’s not Trump. So I voted for Oliver in protest. |
Claudia De la Cruz | It was a protest vote. I loathe Trump. In addition, I am strongly opposed to Harris’s position on Israel and the genocide taking place in Gaza. I am also in a solidly blue state, so I felt comfortable basically “throwing away” my vote to send a message |
Kamala Harris | I think Trump is a terrible person and bad for the country, so I voted for his biggest opposition. Also, women’s rights are important to me. |
Kamala Harris |
Donald Trump is a piece of human $hit…he is an awful, worthless, BAD conman, convicted felon and rapist, womanizing, racist pile of infected monkey $hit. a literal sack of broken hammers would be a better person and president. it is disgraceful to this Country that he won ANY popular vote, least the Presidency |
Kamala Harris | I voted for Kamala Harris because she was the most qualified. We would be safer with her as president and she would not be in it just for herself. |
Donald Trump | I voted for Trump because he is willing to care for and fix our country. Though he may be a convicted felon, which is not something I am particularly proud of, however, he WANTS change, unlike Kamala. Kamala states that the inflation and everything we’re going through now is because of Trump’s tax situation. However, the democratic party had four full years to change that; why is voting for her now going to change anything? She also seems like a joke, all the laughing and all. I don’t like it. |
Donald Trump | Better aligned with the policies I would like enacted. His personality sucks and if you can look past that he has enacted good legislation and I believe he will continue to. Better for the working class. |
Donald Trump | The current president, Joe Biden, clearly has dementia, and this has been covered up and lied about by the DNC, as well as their toadies in the media. There is no way I’m giving my vote to an organization that can do that, its obscene, and anti-democratic. Also, I personally received the exact same number of political primary votes as Kamala Harris: 0. She is completely unfit for the position, and if the media had done their jobs this wouldn’t have been close. |
Donald Trump | Because I think it is best for our country He is the only one capable of improving the economy, and he is better than Kamala Harris in this regard |
Donald Trump |
It was a “hold my nose and vote for the candidate who can beat Kamala Harris” vote. I’m not a huge fan of Trump, although I do like his positions on stopping illegal immigration, and on using tarrifs to bring manufacturing back to America. But the major thing was that the Dems’ policies and messaging have been…very anti-male…and, while not “anti” white per se, certainly not gonna be mistaken as targeting white males for anything but criticism. So, I did something I don’t like to do, and voted based on my identity. Yes, identity politics is stupid. Yes, we’d all be better off if nobody played that game. But once the game starts, based on the identity politics rules (thanks, Democrats! Bleah and yuck!)…well, you gotta vote to protect your own group. Maybe now the Democrats will drop the identity politics crap, since people like me are tired of being told we’re the reason for all problems in the country, and have started to figure “well…if that’s the rules you wanna play the game by, I guess we’ll play by the identity politics rulebook too! Get back to me when ya’ll have dropped the identity politics junk and focused again on kitchen table issues, and maybe I’ll vote for you then.” |
Donald Trump | I thought he was be best on the economy as well as for the overall security of our nation. I also thought he was treated unfairly and deserved to serve a final term. |
Kamala Harris | I think Kamala offers the best policies and would really protect the country as a whole. She cares more about the people |
Donald Trump | I didnt necessarily vote for Donald Trump I voted for the policies that he was running on. So in essence I voted against the policies of the democratic party. I believe that a country’s should be able to control their borders. No borders no country. |
Donald Trump |
One word: immigration. The overrun border has gotten out of control. There should be no pathway to citizenship. They should be deported immediately. Plus, I just didn’t trust Harris. |
Kamala Harris | It was honestly the lesser of two evils. I wasn’t a fan of either candidate, but thought that voting for Kamala would at least make the next four years tolerable. |
Kamala Harris | I figured it was time to move on from Trump. I was clearly in the minority, but that’s the way our system works, so it’s over and maybe we can move on. |
Kamala Harris | Because Trump isn’t capable mentally to be President. It was a no win situation regardless of who won. The US is doomed either way |
Donald Trump | I am an anti-war voter, I do not expose myself to video forms of propaganda and I maintain a rigorous adversarial view towards anyone who attempts to assert their views and opinions upon me, especially when they declare themselves an “expert” or declare their college-level indoctrination experience to be anything other than being conditioned on ‘what to think’ rather than ‘how to think’. |
Kamala Harris | I voted for her only on the bases of her stand on abortion. I don’t think it’s right for the government to tell a woman what she can or can not do with her own body. |
Kamala Harris | This wasn’t an enthusiastic vote of support, but rather a vote against Trump because I didn’t like how he handled losing the 2020 election. |
Donald Trump | I felt like there was too much of a lack of responsibility for the past 4 years by the people in the charge and the groups that should be unbiased on informing the public. Things got so bad this last year for so many people, including myself when it came to achieving financial gain, and they still attempted to manipulate everyone’s perception of this reality. Enough was enough and I felt like I had to vote for Trump for me and future generations before we allowed to this sick game to continue. |
Kamala Harris | It was mostly a vote against Trump. But also hopeful for Democrat policies to be implemented. Those were my main reasons. |
Kamala Harris | She is better educated, was an Attorney General in the State of California and is much younger than Trump. She is by far more professional and aware of political needs, demands.. She would not have made holding office a Get Rich Quick scheme.. |
Donald Trump | I wanted a change from the current admin. My family has suffered under Biden and Harris’ administration, and we would not be able to survive another four years. We are hopeful that things in the economy will improve and trickle down to give us some relief under Trump. |
Gloria La Riva (PSL) | Because Kamala refused to openly stand against the Palestinian Genocide, and Jill Stein’s running mate spoke out in extremely transphobic ways. I can’t support parties that do those things. |
Chase Oliver | America needs a third and possibly fourth party. Neither the Democrats or Republicans care about the wellbeing of the average citizen and they have consolidated too much power. |
Donald Trump | Because he is strong and my friends were also voting for him. Also for the boarder and the economy and inflatuin |
Kamala Harris | Any scratch that Donald Trump not to be in there and maybe create a dictatorship which will now we might have and I hopefully we get and hopefully China and Russia takes us over Or all the people that voted for him. Hopefully he eliminates Social Security. and Medicare and reinstates the draft and drafts the people and takes away all your rights. Let’s hope that happens in the next four years. |
Kamala Harris | she was the best chance of beating Trump who is to be clear an open fascist!! and it didn’t work and now times are gonna be real hard for a lot of people. |
Kamala Harris | The issues that were the most concern to me were women’s health rights and their right to choose. Kamala supports this view, and Donald Trump does not. Trump might actually do even more harm to women’s health rights being in office. |
Chase Oliver | He is a Libertarian and I believe that people should be free to do what they want without government interference |
Kamala Harris | To me it looked like she cared more about this country than Trump does and made every promise to lead this nation appropriately should she win. |
Donald Trump | I did not like some of things that Harris was expected to do if she got elected. I do not completely approve of all Donald Trump wants to do but I think it will be better for the country. |
Donald Trump | Because he stance on abortion the boarder and the economy most closely reflects mine. He doesn’t believe abortion should be legal, Illegal immigrants shouldn’t be able to pour into our country. He believes bibles should be in school and that children shouldn’t be taught that they can can their sex. |
Chase Oliver | I don’t believe in voting for major party candidates if they are guaranteed to win your state’s electoral votes. Thus I voted for the person closest to my values. |
selected skip option | none of the candidates I felt were qualified to lead the country, but i did go to vote for other items on the ballot. No one was worthy of my vote, so skipping was the best option. |
Kamala Harris | I was given a choice between bad (Harris) and worse (Trump). Even though I resent this choice, I chose to vote for Harris. At least she is not a felon and pervert. |
Kamala Harris | Not that I totally agree with kamala’s ideals but I don’t think trump is the best choice to govern this country. |
Jill Stein | She was the only candidate that was not pro-genocide. Her beliefs and policies aligned the most with my own, versus the other candidates. |
Kamala Harris | I thought Trump was crazy and was being groomed by the Soviets. The last trump admin was a gift to Putin and I didn’t want to be involved that. |
Donald Trump | Because Kamala could not convince me that she was right for the job. Also, I couldn’t deny the fact that my life was better economically under Trump, and it has significantly declined in the last 4 years. When Kamala was asked on the View if she would do something different from Biden to address the concerns of voters, she said no. Which means that voting for her to be president would mean that my life and all of America would continue to decline. So I decided to vote for someone who has the track record of good policies in the country. |
Donald Trump | To better our economy and Kamala has had 4 years to change things under biden. While I don’t agree with everything trump says, my views are better represented by the Republican party |
Donald Trump | Basically, I thought he would be a stronger and better leader overall. He lead the nation once before and did a fine job, so I have no doubt he’ll do it again. |
Kamala Harris | Trump scares me and I honestly have no idea what it looks like if he gets elected. I also feel like it would be cool to have a woman president…. the world is going to be odd now. |
Donald Trump | I was not voting for him - I was voting against Harris. We cannot afford to have a socialist president in this country |
Donald Trump | I voted for Donald Trump so he could make our country great again. He was a great president and the economy was great when he was in office. Kamala on the other hand really scares me. I dont think that people really pay attention to what is going on. P Diddy is in jail for children traficking, and everyone who is involved has been endorsing her, what are they trying to hide from us? |
Donald Trump | I felt he generally has the best interests of the American people at heart (economy, immigration, job creation). The DNC has repeatedly failed to perform in the best interests of everyone (despite claims of sexism, racism, and general prejudice). I am hopeful we can do better under his presidency. |
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. | Even though he threw his support behind Donald Trump, I firmly believed in Robert F Kennedy Jr’s messaging and wanted that to be reflected. I live in a “blue” state, and knew that Kamala would receive the majority, so I felt strongly about letting my vote be a message about where my values lie, because it likely wouldn’t shift things either way. I wanted President Trump to win, however. I just knew my vote for either of them here was futile. I am hopeful that Trump will continue to collaborate with RFK and keep momentum for what both of them have started. Many of their goals are important to me and people around me. My family has suffered under a Biden-Harris Whitehouse even though we voted in good faith for them four years ago. Abortion, a female president, and not liking Trump simply wasn’t enough to sway me to vote for people whose leadership has negatively affected a lot of Americans. |
Kamala Harris | My belief is that Kamala would have been more effective in healthcare reform, tax measures and economic policy. |
Kamala Harris | for reproductive rights and lower taxes for middle class. i think she would have been a great president and would have done alot of good for this country |
Kamala Harris | Because I don’t like Trump or the Republican policy platform in general. It was a vote against trump more than a vote for Kamala |
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. | I live in a non-swing state, so my individual vote does not really matter. I voted for RFK Jr because he has some ideas that I like, and he is anti-establishment. I like his views on natural food, and the need to protect our environment. I also like his skepticism of big pharma as well. |
Kamala Harris | I felt that she was the best choice out of the options given. I really did not want Trump to win for several reasons, although it looks like that’s where we are headed. |
Kamala Harris | Because trump is not a good candidate he’s a felon how can a felon run the country how can a felon show children the right way to live |
Donald Trump | I think that he would actually do something to combat inflation and reduce illegal immigration which has caused increases in crime |
Kamala Harris | I voted for her because I wanted to continue the trend of strong, steady, and decent leadership in our country that Joe Biden has provided us. |
Kamala Harris | Because I felt like no one else who wasn’t Trump had a possibility of winning. She’s horrible, but not as horrible as him. Both are genociders, but he’s more extreme. |
Kamala Harris | To keep Donald Trump or any Republican really from being president. And to keep Republicans from naming new Supreme Court justices. |
Kamala Harris | She seemed like the most stable of the two and I was a little bit worried about what Trump and still are worried about Trump might do |
Donald Trump | Kamala Harris did not have any experience to be president and she did nothing for the last four years to help America. |
Kamala Harris | Because she wanted what’s best for the country. I know she’s not perfect and I don’t agree with her on everything, but at least she would be a strong leader and not try to make friends with our enemies for her social media! |
Donald Trump | I voted for him for the economy and security. I felt that Harris was out of touch. She ran a “joy” campaign which doesn’t feel like it connects with me when the economy is not doing that great. |
Kamala Harris | didnt want trump……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… |
Kamala Harris | Because I felt Donald Trump was and is a threat to the rights of a lot of Americans and overall he is a shit person. |
Chase Oliver | His political views most closely matched my own. I live in a state (NJ) which was a safe state for Harris, so I felt I could vote for a third party safely without a detrimental impact on the election. Of the two major candidates, I’m far closer to Trump politically, but I cannot stand the way that he and the Republican Party govern. At the same time, I am nowhere near Kamala Harris politically and had no interest in voting for her. |
Claudia de la Cruz | I voted de la Cruz because she is socialist, and because she fights for what I stand for- she is anti-imperialist, she doesn’t support Israel, she supports the working class and trans folks. She believes in taxation on the mega-wealthy, and publicly funded schools and healthcare. |
Donald Trump | I voted for him because I think that the way the democratic party has been running the country has only made things harder for the average person. I think that he will be able to help bring prosperity and economic growth and that is very important to me. |
Kamala Harris | She was the lesser of two evils. I was not particularly impressed by either candidiate in the presidential race but I felt she had more experience than Trump and might prove to be more effective at being Preseident of the United States. |
Donald Trump | He will make America great again and lower the cost of all goods and gas and he will take better care of the country |
Donald Trump | Donald Trump was the superior candidate when it came to economic policy as well as immigration and defense issues. |
Donald Trump | I voted Trump because I felt that our economy is in major trouble right now, and we need someone that knows how to use a calculator. I would of liked to vote for Harris, but I felt her messages were unclear and pretty weak. I think that having Trump on the Joe Rogan Podcast did a really good thing for Trump, and by Kamala not ever showing up probably hurt her chances more than gaining any new voters. |
Donald Trump | At first, I was unsure about which candidate I would vote for. I lived in California when Kamala was running for senate. I heard about her path to success by sleeping her way up. I despise women like her. When Donald Trump was in office the first time. I had more money in my pocket. I had more job offers and was able to save more. Under Biden administration, my household was struggle because my partner was laid off. He wasn’t able to find job before his unemployment benefits ran out. So I was and still am the only breadwinner in the family. |
Kamala Harris | Thought she was the better candidate. Trump has low morals and is corrupted, I am blown away by how Americans could elect him twice. |
Chase Oliver | I didn’t want to vote for either main candidate. I have a lot of views that line up with the libertarians. |
Donald Trump | The Democratic message was not persuasive and they chose to run a bad candidate who no one wanted. It was an easy choice for many voters. |
Donald Trump | I voted for Donald Trump this time around do to the fact the last time he was in office my investments and stocks portfolio looked amazing and the economy did well. To add I personally did not see Kamala Harris do any thing while she was Vice President. |
Kamala Harris | I don’t like her at all, and I don’t agree with a lot of her policies, but I voted for her as a vote against Trump. I am aghast that so many people have voted a felon, rapist, and wannabe dictator into power again. |
Donald Trump | Less bad than the other choices. The chaos is the point of disrupting the world. Retribution is his name |
Donald Trump | It was less of a vote for Trump, but more of a vote against Harris. I didn’t want to have to choose either candidate. Trump aligns better with 2/3 of big issues to me. |
Donald Trump | He was the lesser of two evils. I really cannot stand either candidate but decided to vote Trump this time around also because the Democrats could have done so much more with the 4 years they were in office but did not. |
Donald Trump | He provided substance to what he wanted to achieve during his presidency. Harris failed to give details or a plan beyond buzz words on what she wanted to accomplish. She didn’t separate herself from Biden as she claimed to be a new wave. |
Donald Trump | I voted for Donald Trump because I feel that he was more real than Kamala. I feel that Kamala never answered any questions. I think that she was fake and put on the front. Donald Trump can be looked at as a mean man who says inconsiderate things but we know he is a real president who can handle real things whereas Kamala last night canceled on her own Speech that thousands of people traveled thousands of miles to see her for that right there speaks volumes on her character and let me know what kind of president she would have been but it doesn’t matter because before that happened I had already voted for Donald Trump. People are voting for Kamala because they feel like Donald Trump is going to take women’s rights , that will not happen. Donald Trump will not take away. Abortion. Abortion is up to the state and the people have spoken. Kamala was never going to get abortion, federal federally, legal, and people need to realize that Kamala was fake and phony and was able to turn into whoever she needed to be based on the circumstance . |
Donald Trump | He was clearly the better candidate. He’s more experienced than Kamala. he deserve to be president. Kamala Harris was just a diversity higher. |
Kamala Harris | Trump, they contend, is an authoritarian threat to democracy who must be stopped. Harris, has an extensive abortion-rights record. She has promised to “restore reproductive freedom” and codify Roe v. Wade, even if this means eliminating a filibuster in Congress that could prevent this. She cares about women’s rights. Trump on the other hand only cares about rich white men. Harris has promised to be “a president for all Americans,” she doesn’t discriminate and cares about helping all people. |
Kamala Harris | While I am a Republican, I am against Trump. I believe he is very divisive, offensive, rude, and I am just blown away by some of the things that come out of his mouth. I am absolutely shocked by the number of votes and the fact that people wanted him back in office so badly. I am also shocked by the sweep, turning all the checks and balances Republican. |
Claudia de la Cruz (PSL) | I am anti-genocide and anti-capitalism. Both candidates of the two major parties disgusted me. I have not voted for either party since about 2012. |
Jill Stein | because she emphasis on environmental issues, such as climate change, and her focus on healthcare reform, education, and social justice. |
Donald Trump | I wanted to vote for Chase Oliver, but he wasn’t on the ballot! I was pretty disappointed. The write in option was there, but it just seemed pointless. As much as I dislike Trump, I do think he is smarter than Kamala Harris. I’m a lifelong Democrat, but I hope they learn a lesson from this disaster. |
Donald Trump | I think he had a stronger stance in the issues that influence me: economy, Healthcare, immigration. Harris to me felt like a candidate propped up by the Democrats, focusing on tertiary issues. |
Donald Trump | I think he will be a better leader for our country and will be better for the economy as well. To be honest, both Harris and Trump are bad choices, but I voted for Trump anyways. |
Kamala Harris | I thought she was the most qualified and stable candidate. I believe that trump is racist, and I don’t like his foreign policy or economic plan |
Chase Oliver | I agree with most of the principles of the libertarian party. There was no way I would have voted for Trump or Harris. I believe they’re both political puppets. However, I was mostly apathetic for this election and chose the person I could sleep well thinking about leading this country at night. |
Donald Trump | To begin with he is a man of vision and also kind with a good heart. He also has the leadership experience with is also an important factor for one to become president. Also looking at the vision of Donald Trump, he has the vision which benefits both the people and also the country as a whole and that is why i voted for him to become president |
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. | I am disenchanted with both the Republican and Democrat nominees and voted for RFK Jr. because I wanted to make a statement saying, “Let’s get back to patriotism and integrity for the United States” |
Kamala Harris | I voted for Kamala Harris because the only other candidate that could be considered was not a good choice. The current two-party system is terrible, but it is a choice I had to make because there was no possible way a third-party candidate would win. It’s making the best of a bad situation. |
Donald Trump | Donald Trump offer a variety of reasons why they do so, ranging from the candidates’ issue positions to their personal |
Chase Oliver | I think the main political parties are far extreme on the left and right. The changes that primary parties make are little. I want to see a change in the way we run the government and to see some radical change. |
Kamala Harris | I voted for Kamala Harris because I support democratic policies. I also think Trump is a disgraceful human being who is racist, homophobic, and misogynistic. I wanted to see more help for the lower/middle class and policies that help promote affordable housing, education, tolerance, and women’s rights. |
Jill Stein | They are the party that most closely matches my views. Also I think that both the Dems and Republicans have policies and actions that cross a red line for me and make them complete out of the realm of voting for. |
Kamala Harris | I believe she will make a great change with her intended policies at she is not racist and the fact that she wants to make America a liberal country to allow everyone live their lives. Also the abortion issue is a good one, it should be mother’s decision to make if she wants to have a child or not. The liberal nature of her policies is what strikes me |
Kamala Harris | Because even though she supports Israel, she isn’t a terrible person. Donald Trump’s plan of tariffs and immigration will literally send the US into a depression/recession. Not to mention he is a literal felon and rapist and wants to take away women’s right and give gun owners more. |
Kamala Harris | I voted for Kamala because she represents a black woman in office, is for Black rights and women’s rights |
Donald Trump | Because he is going to help build this country up and not take it down like Kamala would have done Trump wants to help our country not hurt it more |
Jill Stein | She is anti-genocide, anti-war, and the Green Party platform more closely aligns with my beliefs than any of the other parties. |
Donald Trump | I thought he would be better with the Economy and Foreign Relations, aka stop the wars. Big mistake from the democrats was putting Harris up as the candidate without anyone voting for her. They knew Biden was not well and him up anyway. If they would of put up a better candidate they could have won. I don’t really like Trump,. but he seemed the better candidate going forward. |
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. | Because I believe in his platform of ending the foreign wars, protecting free speech and cracking down on censorship, and reigning in the government agencies. |
Donald Trump | To be honest, I was not pleased with either option. However, the economy has not been doing well. Our family is much worse off than we were 4 years ago. I am not pleased with the influx of immigrants and I did not see Kamala Harris as a strong leader. I was impressed with many things about her but I didn’t think that she had enough experience to deal with all of the issues that United States is currently facing. As a Vice President, she was basically an unknown. She didn’t play much of a role in the Biden administration and that concerned me. Also, I felt like she was just thrown into the mix without much of a thought. Basically, I voted for Donald Trump because I saw no reason to vote for Kamala Harris. |
Kamala Harris | By a narrow margin over Oliver, she and I were the most aligned on policy, though not very. I also thought she’d be a stable and sensible leader, and I appreciate her appeal to moderates and classical conservatives - I felt she’d take the mandate of her coalition seriously. Finally, my vote was first and foremost a vote against Trump, and that vote was the most useful when directed toward her. |
Donald Trump | It was a vote for conservative social (and to a lesser extent economic) policies, and against the policies of Ms. Harris. It was not a vote for the man Donald Trump himself. |
Claudia De la Cruz | I’m a human rights voter. It was unconscionable to me to vote for the Democratic party due to their material support for Israel’s genocide in Palestine. Being in California where I’m not in a swing state and where my vote was not going to be able to prevent the rise of Trump due to how the electoral college works, I felt a moral imperative to cast an anti-genocide protest vote. And, out of the third party options, I have the fewest issues with PSL/Claudia De la Cruz (the Green party, for example, has been going toward some anti-vax and anti-trans stances, which I can’t support). I feel that I cast the best vote I could have in a truly terrible situation. |
Donald Trump | Trump was clear on his policies regarding the economy and foreign policy. I really like Harris, but felt she needed more time to get her campaign policies communicated and accepted by voters. |
Donald Trump | I voted for donald trump for a few different reasons. One reason is I felt that out of the people running he was best for office. I also like trump for who he is as a person as well. |
Donald Trump | I voted for Trump because inflation was lower when he was in office. Ever since Biden went in, gas, groceries, and utilities have all skyrocketed for me. I see Harris as an extension of Biden and his policies. |
Kamala Harris | I felt that Kamala stood for unity in our divided nation. While she wouldn’t have been my first choice, and there are things I do not agree with, I feel that Trump is someone who brings even greater division to our country. |
Donald Trump | Was the better options on economy and energy production also he will do better on the boarder problems |
Donald Trump | The economy is in an extremely dire condition at the moment, more than the average American can even fathom. I believe Trump will at least work extremely hard to correct that situation at a much higher rate than the Democratic party. |
Donald Trump | I voted for Donald Trump for multiple reasons. First of all, I believe he has a solid economic plan, and while I do question his tariff approach, I trust him with promoting economic activity through his pro-energy plan. Secondly, I was a big RFK Jr. supporter in the sense where I truly felt he was a passionate candidate and had great visions for the United States. I was upset when he was excluded from the debates, but ultimately think he made the right choice in partnering with Trump. Hearing that RFK Jr. is playing a prominent role on Trump’s transition team and in his next administration really sold me. I also like JD Vance, Tulsi Gabbard, and Vivek Ramaswamy, who are all key members of Trump’s team. |
Donald Trump | I voted for him due to his focus on fixing the economy, and the emphasis on a foreign policy that keeps terrrorism in check as a whole |
Kamala Harris | Personally I think she would be better for my household because of health insurance, the company doesn’t provide it so we have to buy it off of the open market and it’s really expensive. Trump seemed more likely to make it more expensive while Kamala would have at least kept the status quo. The health insurance is the largest expenditure aside from rent within our household. I was also unsure of how Trump would act in the wake of all the prosecutions once he took office, and he didn’t fact check himself correctly during a debate with Kamala where he was misinformed about topics. Kamala, while I don’t like her either, felt like a much safer candidate as well because of those factors. |
Donald Trump | His policies are direct and will benefit this country. Kamala’s policies were abstract and when asked a direct question she wouldn’t give a direct answer. She has done a horrible job of being vice president and will not be a good president for this country. |
Chase Oliver |
He had qualities I looked for in a candidate. I was concerned with the
dishonesty I heard from both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. I wanted
someone in office that would speak with integrity. Since Donald Trump seems to have won the election, I’m hoping he will fix the economy and it wasn’t just rheteric when he said he would. |
Kamala Harris | I hate the GOP party and, as far as Trump is concerned, I did not want him back in office. I have many LGBT+ friends who will suffer under him. |
Donald Trump | I’m sick rising prices on groceries and gas. Plus kamala didn’t have a clue of what she’s doing. .She is a fake |
Kamala Harris | There was a polling center nearby, and I had the time, so I voted for the less bad option for president. |
Kamala Harris | I voted for Kamala Harris because she is not Donald Trump. Although I am a Republican and I agree with some of his stances, Donald Trump is polarizing and not presidential. I wish he handled himself with more grace and respect. |
Donald Trump | My parents are republican and I felt pressured socially to make a decision regarding voting. Trump is supported by many of the people around me, so despite not having particular views on the presidency I support trump. He’s also a better public speaker and Kamala isn’t; Biden was an awfully senile man who had been taken advantage of by his supporters, to think that we could have had him another 4 years is criminal. |
Cornel West | I felt he was the smartest candidate. We need someone intelligent in the White House. I felt he was the best candidate for me. Kamala didn’t sell me on anything and Trump had his chance. |
Chase Oliver | He best respresented my beliefs. I did not feel comfortable at all voting for either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump. |
Kamala Harris | Trump is too extreme and makes promises that can’t be kept We don’t need more enemies around the world |
Kamala Harris | To prevent the erosion of democracy. That’s it. There is no other reason than that. I have nothing else to say other than that but I’m being forced to write more than I need to write. |
Chase Oliver | I voted for Chase Oliver as more of a protest vote than anything. While I do agree with him on some positions, I mainly voted for him because I refused to vote trump or kamala. |
Donald Trump | My main concerns were border control and inflation. He seemed the appropriate candidate for those issues |
Donald Trump | I voted for Trump because he focused better on three issues that I cared about more. Economy,Immigration and Inflation. I believe under Trump the recession we are in now will slow down and become more better. I don’t think Kamala or the Democrats would deliver anything different in the next four years that is different from where we are now.Kamala’s key talking points are ones I don’t agree with fully and could not get behind. |
Donald Trump | This country needs a change. I voted for Trump because I think he would spend the money in the right places. I think he could get us out of wars and also focus on taking care of our people that have problems at the moment while stopping the influx of people coming in at the border. I believe also economically he will make things better. |
Donald Trump | To try to resolve the issue with illegal immigrations. I’m not against immigrants as my family (parents and siblings) are legal immigrants themselves. The crime in this country has become out of control and that’s where I think he’s a stronger leader than VP Kamala Harris. I do have issues with him but I felt Harris was allowing this country to fall apart. We need to focus on the needs and well-being of the American people. |
Donald Trump | I voted for Donald Trump for a few reasons. I believe that the economy was much better when he was our president before. Since Biden has been in office, it’s become nearly impossible to afford to live in even an apartment, it’s been a struggle to keep enough food in the house, and this country is becoming too “woke” with literally praising mental illness and pushing it on our children. Also, the republicans believe in the proper exceptions for abortion; medical, incest, and rape. Democratic women are prioritizing having the option to be a murderer due to their own reckless behavior, over the economy, which is insane. Also, personally (though I know this may not be a popular opinion) I don’t believe a woman should be president. I am a woman, and I know myself, my grandmothers, my sister, and my girlfriends. They all react to emotion much sooner than logic, regardless of whether or not they have gone through menopause. A woman president would look weak in the eyes of many countries, including most of the middle east. I think Trump is a better head of our country, God forbid we do wind up in a third world war. |
Kamala Harris | It was the better of the two options. I had no interest in voting for Trump, and I didn’t think any other candidate was a viable option other than Harris. |
Kamala Harris | I liked her housing policies and her way of helping the lower and middle class. I also did not enjoy the 10% tariff that trump will bring to china to raise prices. |
Kamala Harris | I voted for Kamala because she had the best social and economic policies. She knows how to actually govern a country. She is not a lying rapist. |
Donald Trump | I support Donald Trump because I believe he genuinely puts America’s interests first. His “America First” approach resonates with me, especially when it comes to boosting the economy and bringing jobs back to the U.S. I appreciate his commitment to securing our borders, which I feel is vital for national security. As someone who’s grown frustrated with traditional politics, I find his outsider status refreshing. He’s not afraid to challenge the system and say things as they are. For me, his straightforwardness is a sign of honesty, and that’s something I value in a leader. |
Donald Trump | I voted for Trump because our economy needs some major help. Our borders are out of control. We need Jesus back in this country. |
Kamala Harris | I felt like I couldn’t vote for DT based on his character. My heart wouldn’t allow it so I went with what felt right to me. |
Kamala Harris | I voted for Kamala Harris because between the main party and the third-party candidates, she was the least evil out of the bunch. |
Donald Trump | The issue of immigration is the most important to me. I think we will have a better economy if we stop spending. |
Donald Trump | Kamala will create war if she is elected. And another Great Depression. It blows my mind thst so many people actually CONSIDERED her for president. Trump isn’t the best guy in the world, but , AS A FEMALE, I do NOT want a female president for my country. Especially Kamala. |
Nikki Haley | I thought she would best represent my polical views and I thought she was genuinely the best candidate among those who were relevant through this voting cycle. |
Kamala Harris | I wanted to make sure that the country would be working towards one that is more equal and not giving more to big corporations. We can’t keep creating an unbalanced economy. |
Donald Trump | I voted for Trump because the Biden/Harris administration have completely ignored our border and immigration laws and allowed millions of people from every country on the globe to illegally enter our country. This is national security issue. Biden/Harris then began financially supporting and providing housing to these illegal migrants. I don’t mind spending the money, but it should be spent to help our American citizens, especially those living in urban city environments, by providing them clean, safe housing, social support, job education and training, etc. They have been in dire need of our assistance, and our government ignores them. Illegal migrants have been set up living in brand new buildings in NYC with new furniture while our American citizens continue to be ignored. I am so angry with the Democrats over this that I decided to vote all Republican this election. From the election results, it appears many others did the same thing. |
Kamala Harris | She gave me a feeling of restoration and hope for many families across the United States. All the things that mattered to me, mattered to her as well. |
Kamala Harris | Would take more action on student loans and tax rates on those at the very top. Also a vote against Trump. |
Kamala Harris | I voted for Harris because she wasn’t Donald Trump, and she didn’t try to subvert democracy on January 6, 2021. |
Kamala Harris | Because she supports my right to exist, and doesn’t threaten to turn the country into a dictatorship. It doesn’t help that the other choice is a comedically evil elderly man, whos next sleep could well be his last. |
Kamala Harris | The alternative was worse. I wanted a president that respected the job and understood that it’s their job to both represent the will of the people and lead the people. And the other candidate did not meet those requirements. |
Donald Trump | For our country to be safe again. To get all the illegal aliens out and to protect our borders are the main reasons but his strength is why. |
Kamala Harris | I am just tired of Donald Trump and the media circus, I don’t want abortion to be illegal, I wanted recreational marijuana. i thought it would be cool to have a woman maybe |
Kamala Harris |
When it comes to policy, the differences couldn’t be more stark. On abortion, Kamala Harris is a staunch advocate for reproductive rights and is committed to ensuring those rights are protected by law. Donald Trump, on the other hand, has consistently opposed such protections and has shown no intention of changing his stance. On immigration, Harris understands, as many business owners do, that we need comprehensive reform that both secures the border and creates pathways for legal immigration. Trump’s approach—promising mass deportations—would not only disrupt families but could devastate the economy in the process. When it comes to gun safety, Harris supports sensible measures that aim to keep firearms out of the hands of criminals and those who pose a danger to society. Trump, despite his earlier rhetoric about standing up to the gun lobby, ultimately caved to their influence, failing to enact meaningful change. On the economy, while Harris’ tax and tariff proposals may be politically driven, economists have pointed out that they would do far less harm to businesses, consumers, and the national debt compared to Trump’s policies, which have often been short-sighted. And on climate change, Harris sees a golden opportunity for the U.S. to lead the clean energy revolution, capitalizing on the economic potential it brings—something she believes is too important to let other countries, like China, take the lead on. Meanwhile, Trump has largely dismissed the urgency of climate change, favoring the fossil fuel industry and allowing it to continue polluting our air and water. In short, Harris’ policies stand in sharp contrast to Trump’s, offering a vision for a more inclusive, sustainable, and forward-thinking future. |
Donald Trump | I voted for Donald Trump because he had a roster of really great people on his team with policies I support. |
Kamala Harris | I had zero faith in both candidates running for President this year and Harris was the lesser of the two evils. |
Donald Trump | I feel he is the best choice to help the economy and the job sector, which have been struggling for a bit. |
Kamala Harris | to be honest it was piccking from the Lesser of two evils. They’re both going to continue funding israel and killing innocent children, but the democrats are probably clsoer to my beliefs than the republicans. I also voted for kamala because I dont trust donald trump at all. I do believe that Kamala has some great ideas like increasing minimum wage and providing abortion rights. I voted for her also because I believe the first female president will create history for America and she has to have great intentions. She also believes in creating peace with ukraine and Russia |
Kamala Harris | Voted because I saw Harris as the better option compared to Donald Trump. I wasn’t completely satisfied with the policy platform of her campaign, but she was closer to my views than Trump was. |
Kamala Harris | Neither are really that good options, but we’ve already been through a trump presidency. It was awful. She was the only one that had decent enough qualifications to run the country for the next few years. Both the best candidates but she’s definitely the lesser of the two evils. |
Donald Trump | He’s more pro-life, and better on economic and foreign policy. They both were terrible candidates, but he was more preferable than her. |
Donald Trump | The situation is really bad. You set up a retirement plan, you establish goals, and then inflation makes you worry. Everything is getting more expensive, but wages stay the same. That’s why I felt the country needs an urgent change, someone who takes back the reins of what this country was many years ago. |
Kamala Harris | I aligned more with her policies and beliefs and when looking at my kids future she gave me the most hope and made feel she was the best option and I will not vote for a convicted SO. |
Kamala Harris | Because it was better than the alternative, which we now have to live with. Even though I am a republican by belief, I did not want us to relive the last time Trump was in office. I fear it might be even worse now. Thanks America |
Kamala Harris | I felt a woman can run this country better so i wanted a woman to have the chance and opportunity to be able to Do so |
Kamala Harris | I feel that Kamala is a different approach to Donald Trump’s policies. I already did four years of Trump and it was so nerve wracking and filled with his hate for people. |
Donald Trump | I just thought he was the better candidate out of the two. He has experience and he knows what it takes to run America. |
Donald Trump | Trump represented change from the establishment and the chance to fix our economy, while Kamala was focused on social issues and celebrity endorsements that are out of touch with the reality of life in the US. |
Donald Trump | I believe he is the best person to get the country back on track, solve the border crisis and stop the wars. |
Kamala Harris | Donald Trump has been explicit and vocal about his plans to tear down basic protections of our Democracy and institute laws based on the religious beliefs of his Christian supporters. |
Jill Stein | She does not support genocide of Palestinians. Voting third-party shows that the Democrats need to earn my vote with progressive policies. |
Chase Oliver | I didn’t like the two front runners or trust them The choices this election were worse than they have ever been |
Donald Trump | I wanted to vote for Harris, but she is just not real and she is very fake. She doesn’t own up to her own policies either. |
Kamala Harris | I voted for Kamala Harris because I believed in her economic policies more than Trump’s. Tariffs will hurt American consumers greatly, and I don’t think he knows that. He’s also clearly showing signs of impaired cognitive ability, and I believe Kamala is very sharp; she’s more suited for the demands of the office. |
Jill Stein | I find Kamala very fake and did not talk about concrete ideas enough. I thought that I would vote for Trump initially, but I disagreed strongly with his VP choice so my next best candidate was Stein. |
Kamala Harris | I couldn’t stand Trump and I didn’t want to vote for that felon. It is embarrassing that our country did. |
Claudia de la Cruz | All the other candidates were distasteful. I didn’t want to vote for any of the other people because I want this country to do better. |
DeSantis | I dislike both candidates. I’ve always been against Trump and Harris is not a strong candidate in my opinion. |
Kamala Harris | cut down prices on everything, make living affordable and give first time home owners the funds needed to do that |
Donald Trump | I voted for Trump because he was the less dangerous candidate. Kamala serves the military industrial complex. |
Donald Trump | He had a valid plan on how to fix what is wrong with America. Harris had no plan, she made promises with no plan on how to pay for them. |
Donald Trump |
|
Kamala Harris | Because she had plans that didn’t preclude adding trillions of debt and murdering innocent americans |
Chase Oliver | I couldn’t in good faith vote for the major players because I don’t agree with their politics. There really isn’t more to it than that. I researched the other candidates, and Chase Oliver had more things I agreed with to vote for him. |
Donald Trump | He was the better candidate. He is for the people, and understands the plight of the American worker. He does not consider himself part of the elite. We had a better economy under him and no new wars. |
Donald Trump | His economic policy, his clarity on what it means to be American, his focus on growth and prosperity. Trump emphasized on the same key issues throughout his campaign as he did during his time as President. I am of the belief that the border should be controlled better and economic growth for Americans should be prioritized over other concerns. |
Kamala Harris | I thought she was the more qualified candidate from The choices we were given, I didn’t mind trump but prefer kamala |
Donald Trump | I voted for Donald Trump because I have been extremely disappointed with the democratic party in this last administration. I think it has only served the elites and has not been about the people. We also got into a lot of international conflict. We needed someone else to run the country properly. |
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. | He seems fairly honest and I stand behind some of the things he believes. The Kennedy name itself speaks volumes about what kind of people they are. I feel if he is anything like JFK then we would have been extremely lucky to have him in office. |
Kamala Harris | Because I was attracted to her policies, her policies were focused on building an opportunity economy which creates an avenue for everyone to compete and succeed regardless of their background. This when implemented will make rents and housing more affordable and improve on investments in small businesses and we share similar views and beliefs on various matters such as healthcare system and LGBTQ. |
Kamala Harris | Lesser evil of the two candidates. Plus how can a felon in other words trump be the commander in chief |
Donald Trump | The economy and the border crisis were my largest concerns. As a registered Democrat, I was not happy with the Biden Administration nor did I like Kamala Harris as a candidate. |
Donald Trump | I voted for Donald Trump because it means that more of working class people get to keep their own money. It also means that prices for goods and needs will also go down. |
Kamala Harris | Kamala was the candidate who’s ideals lined up best with my political ideals. She was against denying access to abortion, and wanted to make the economy better. |
Jill Stein | because she wants to fund social services and make a Amerika a great place to live also because she is too reparations |
Kamala Harris | The other choice was not a moral option. I voted for the person with requisite experience and a sense of decency and empathy. |
Pete Sonski | He is the only one that was in line with my beliefs. He is Catholic and pro-life and doesn’t compromise like most corrupt politicians. I know he wouldn’t be elected but it is my duty to vote and I want a clear conscience. |
Kamala Harris | To be honest, I only voted for Kamala Harris because I did not want Donald Trump to be president again. I didn’t really care for either candidates, but I know it would’ve been between them who would’ve won. |
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. | I don’t like the primary candidates and want to show the establishment I’m not afraid to “waste” my vote if I’m not satisfied with the options |
Chase Oliver | I did not like Harris or Trump so I feel I had no choice. It was a very difficult to make because I feel if there other candidates representing democrats or Republicans my vote would have been different. |
Kamala Harris | I felt like since I was voting for my local candidates, I might as well vote for her while I was there, even though I find a lot of her policies distasteful and don’t really like her. I dislike trump more. |
Kamala Harris | I don’t agree with everything she has done/stands for, but I align more with her than Trump. Also, she is more likely to win than an independent. |
Kamala Harris | She was someone other than Trump was the main reason. I would normally vote Libertarian but I know that vote could not actually change things or keep Trump out of office. She also pledged to work towards reinstating Roe v. Wade and giving women’s right to bodily autonomy, and I am a big proponent for as much personal freedom from government control as possible. |
Donald Trump | The Democratic party is a dumpster fire disaster and has been since Obama’s second term and Kamala’s nomination and campaign really exemplified that. Unfortunately we have a two-party system, we can’t just make a new party that actually addresses the needs of working Americans, the only option is to destroy the Democratic party as it exists today and rebuild it around a populist base. Now we can do that. Now even the elites recognize that we MUST do that. Trump is a bad and corrupt person but the actual harm he did in his first term was minimal (if you discount the spin in the media) and he didn’t have any wars, so I’m fine casting my ballot for him in light of the above. |
Kamala Harris |
I wasn’t going to vote, out of protest. But, the day before I thought to
myself about how the conversation would go if I asked a very trusted
person in my life what I should do. I played that out in my head and
realized if I don’t vote at all, and Trump wins, I would feel guilt as a
mixed-race woman. I feel guilty even saying that, but it’s my moral
compass and I can’t change that.
When I woke up on Tuesday, I planned to go to the polls and wait in line. But something felt off and I had this feeling that I needed to fill out my mail-in ballot and drop it off instead. I filled out everything and left President blank. Then, I had this feeling that I would never forgive myself if I left it blank. The rest of the day felt eerily like 2016, which was the first election I was ever able to vote in. The entire day was filled with dread. And as the night went on, it became clear. It was very deja vu. |
Donald Trump | Because affirmative action and DEI are destroying this country and its greatest companies and I voted against the racist party constantly promoting those policies. |
Kamala Harris | Although I did not necessarily feel I knew enough about her political history or foundations, I was terrified at the prospect of Trump being in office again. I do know a fair amount about Governor Walz as I live in Minnesota. Based on Harris’ views on abortion and women’s health alone, combined with the prospect of 2025 being rolled out, it was an easy choice for me to vote Harris/Walz. |
Kamala Harris | She was the safer choice. She would protect our basic human lives. I am scared of what four more years of Trump will do to this country. It simply came down to the lesser of two evils. |
Chase Oliver | I voted for the candidate who most closely follows my political philosophy of libertarianism. I am tired of the two-party system and cast my vote as a protest vote. |
Donald Trump | I think he will be great when comes to the economy and immigration and good for America as a whole especially with the wars and cutting overtime for American workers |
Kamala Harris | I don’t have a great reason– because I did not want or agree with Trump policies. She was the alternate option. |
Donald Trump | I don’t think Kamala had enough of a plan. I don’t like what the democrats did pulling Biden and unilaterally putting her in. I hope Trump can reign in spending. |
Kamala Harris | I felt that she was the more stable candidate. Trump is unhinged and I feel he isn’t predictable and can enact some radical changes. |
Kamala Harris | Because I didn’t want a low life con man to be our president again. I thought we were above him. She was the only other option. |
Claudia de la Riva |
The Dems actively pulled to the right throughout this entire campaign and spit in the face of progressives to do it. From:
|
Donald Trump |
I’m concerned that the Democrats would mismanage the economy badly. I like that Trump is interested in reshoring jobs and shifting energy production to the United States. I’m against abortion. I’m in favor of a strong border. I don’t like that the Democrats are cozy with transgender activists like Rachel Levine. |
Donald Trump |
For energy independance, strong borders, to not look like an idoit to the world, to have a stronger economy, to ship out all the illegals to where they came from. |
Kamala Harris |
Kamala represented a more stable choice for president. Every president has good and bad, however her temperament appeared to be a better fit for my expectations. |
Donald Trump |
Best option. This countrys policy sucks as is and we all need the best chance at a decent life in general. He promises some change, and is at least a little believable. |
Donald Trump |
Because he was the only realistic choice. Absolutely the lesser of two evils. Also, mostly for economic reasons. I want a good economy and Trump is definitely a better gamble in that regard. Besides, Harris would have been more Obama / Biden era non-sense for another 4 years. Our country just can’t handle that. |
Kamala Harris |
The biggest concern that I had was Donald Trump and the threat that he poses to democracy in general. I was very worried about project 2025 and the changes to the structure of this country that would ultimately yield a further broken system. I like some of the policy ideas that she had, but I was mainly concerned with trying to stop Trump. |
Kamala Harris |
We have experienced Donald Trump as our President before. Nothing he says surprises me, It was time to give someone else a chance. I felt our Country needs saving in every aspect. |
Donald Trump |
I voted for Donald Trump not because I believe that he will be the best man to lead the country, but because of the negative emotions that his presidency will cause. |
Kamala Harris |
Because she was not Donald Trump mainly. She was by no means someone I would normally vote for but it was the only choice other than Trump. |
Donald Trump |
I voted for Trump because he has already done the job before and he will try to stop the wars we are funding. |
Kamala Harris |
Because I want my kids and everyone’s kids to grow up with more freedom than I did. I want to see us move forward as a country not backwards. Even if she held the status quo, which I don’t think she would have, it would have been better than waking up in 1776… |
Chase Oliver |
I aligned with him on most issues. My state was not a swing state so I felt safer voting for a third party candidate |
Kamala Harris |
Lesser of two evils. I was hoping she would be more for women, not a fan of many of her other policies. I don’t trust Trump. |
Donald Trump |
I voted for Donald Trump not people I like him but because he is the best choice thrown at me Kamala Harris is nothing but a liar so far from what I have seen she is always talking in circle she pretends to help people to make her self to look good. The type of person she is I cannot get behind. But trump on the other he follows through what he says he’s gonna do has not been lying truly wants to help people that is why I voted for trump if Kamala Harris won my country would probably in the middle of war again. either way I know this country is gonna crash because they want trump to fail this time around but at the end of his term it will get better. |
Donald Trump |
I felt the country would be much better off under Trump than Harris. I believe he will fix the economy. He has a plan for illegal immigration. Help end the wars |
Kamala Harris |
I was casting a vote against Donald Trump. I didn’t want that idiot in power for another term. I am not happy with the choice we had this year: two terrible candidates. |
Donald Trump |
he gave more answers to the questions I had. he seemed a lot more prepared and determined than harris.. and he has a good team backing him up. |
Kamala Harris |
Several reasons I voted for Kamala over Trump: 1.) I voted for Kamala because of the things that Trump has said about Ukraine/Russia. For example, he says the war would have never happened on his watch, but the war STARTED IN 2014 while Trump was in office!!! It’s just that the ESCALATION occurred in Feb 2022, after Trump was in office. He tried to pretend it was Biden’s fault. 2.) Trump tried to say Ukraine should give up part of their land to Putin, for the sake of peace. There is no way that Trump would give up part of the US to Putin, for the sake of peace. 3.) Many more things that have to do with Ukraine/Russia as well. Including Trump cozying up to PUtin when he, Trump, was in office. 4.) The republicans (and yes, i am one) took away women’s right to an abortion. Trump also was part of that as well. I want no part of Trump. 5.) He doesn’t know how to keep his mouth shut, and he alienates both democrats and republicans. 6.) The things Trump did and DID NOT do, during the pandemic. Too long to list here. |
Donald Trump |
I’m not a fan of the man and in fact think he’s a buffoon. However i was afraid to go with kamala after all of the terrible things the democratic party has done to areas of our country. |
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. |
I could not bring myself to vote for either front runner. He was my lesser of the evil I suppose. I was planning to vote for him from the beginning so I stuck with it. I tend to think maybe someday they will take 3rd party runners more seriously if we the people demand it |
Kamala Harris |
Better character and candidate overall, shown to be a sane person and does not have hidden agendas or ulterior motives as a leader. |
Donald Trump |
Because I trust his economic policies more than any of the other candidates. I also like his experience level at the job. |
Chase Oliver |
I voted on my conscience. I could not vote for Kamala, who was put on the ticket without due process; and I sure as heck couldn’t vote for Trump. Though I knew Oliver had no chance of winning, I still felt that the Libertarian party is closer to my views and values. |
Donald Trump |
While I’m not a big fan of Trump (he seems way too thin skinned and ego driven for the position), Harris was completely unqualified, had no real accomplishments of any kind and has generally failed at everything she’s done. No way could I vote for her, so it was either not vote or vote for him. I decided to vote for Trump. |
Kamala Harris |
I thought that she represented a reasonable alternative to Trump. She seemed to be attempting to govern in a more moderate way than previous democrats. Her attitude and policies presented a more tolerable four years than Trump. |
Donald Trump |
He is more in tune with issued that matter than Kamala Harris was. He actually listens to the will of the common man, as opposed to kowtowing tothe Hollywood crowd, liberal coastal elites and the mainstream media. |
Kamala Harris |
I voted for Kamala Harris because she stood up for abortion rights. As a woman and as a mother myself, I want to fight back what women have fought for many years and think it is unfair for it to be taken away from us. |
Kamala Harris |
she is miles ahead of her opponent as a qualified candidate. i think DT is a toxin for our country and has only eroded it over the last 9 years. |
Donald Trump |
The economy is unsteady, prices are high and Kamala could not articulate what she would do differently. |
Chase Oliver |
His beliefs most aligned with my own. I also didn’t really like Harris or Trump. I felt the most true to myself voting for Oliver. |
Kamala Harris |
I voted for Kamala Harris because I believe in her experience, leadership skills, and dedication to equality and progress for all Americans. |
Kamala Harris |
Because she seemed to be the least worse of the 2 and the Republican party has gone too far to the right |
Donald Trump |
Donald Trump policies are great and can make America great again. He is also hardworking and very competent. |
Claudia |
I have supported the PSL for several cycles. They have also done actual political work across the divide in my community. In my solidly red state I’m happy to throw them my vote. |
Jill Stein |
Because she had less baggage down those other candidates and also she is big on sustainability in my choice Jill Stein was the most compassionate runner for president |
Donald Trump |
I voted for Donald Trump because he vows to secure the US border. We really need that because it’s a dangerous situation with many 100’s of thousands of illegals coming through each day. In addition, I feel that he is better at helping the US economy which is very depressed currently. |
Kamala Harris |
I voted for Kamala Harris because I like her policy positions. I am pro-choice, I like her attitudes on healthcare and the economy, and also because she is the opposition to Trump. Ultimately, I can’t abide racism, homophobia, etc. and she was the most likely coalition candidate, even if she did not win. |
Kamala Harris |
Not only would pretty much anyone be better than Trump, I really started to believe in her and her policies. Trump scares me. I cried today when he won. I am ashamed of my country. |
Donald Trump |
It is too expensive to survive right now. Groceries and housing costs are through the roof, but the Democrats keep saying everything is great. They don’t even recognize there is a problem,. Life was more affordable under the last Trump administration. In addition, I like the people he has around him…JD Vance, Tulsi Gabbard, RFK. I’m looking forward to seeing what positive changes they can make! |
Donald Trump |
He was the lesser of two evils in this situation. His policies made more sense and the immigration problem is so big because of Biden. The refugees need to stop. We need real leadership again |
Bernie Sanders |
Kamala Harris did not advocate for ending the genocide of Palestinian and the further escalation of Israel’s actions in the Middle East. She moved to the right courting Centrists/Moderates and abandoned the Progressive/ Left of the Democratic party. She was feckless in the face of fascism and did not do enough for the average American to gain their trust or improve their material conditions. |
Donald Trump |
Ecnomy. I need that goddamn bticoin to soar. and eth. and s&p 500. Im eating rn in this crypto bulrun. weall rich under trump. truzz trump |
Chase Oliver |
I don’t like Trump as a choice, and I wasn’t a fan of Harris. I felt that Oliver’s platform was the better choice of the options. |
Donald Trump |
I believe he was the best option to help fix our economy and lower inflation. I do not agree with all of his policies but felt he was a better option than the other candidate. |
Donald Trump |
I wanted to vote for someone different because my life got worse under Biden. I also did not like Kamala Harris because she never explained her policies. Donald Trump seems to be more anti-establishment and my crypto investments did much better when he was president. |
Kamala Harris |
I figured she was the lesser of two evils. I do not have much faith in Trump or any of these politicians. I feel the system is broken and ran by a bunch of rich theives. They don’t even attempt to solve problems, they just go to D.C. to steal money. I sincerly hope that Donald Trump proves me wrong and turns this around, but I’m not counting on it. |
Donald Trump |
I voted for Donald Trump because living in a border state has brought safety concerns close to home for me and my family. At almost every stoplight, we encounter people attempting to clean windshields in exchange for money, and parking lots often feel tense with strangers asking for whatever help they can get. It’s hard to feel safe in these situations, especially when a ‘no’ response sometimes leads to frustration or anger. I want my children to grow up in a safe environment, and right now, ensuring their security is my top priority. |
Kamala Harris |
Because I was worried about what types of policies Donald Trump would pass and his dangerous dictator complex. Plus the whole thing about him appointing Kendy who is a notorious conspiracy theorist and antivaxxer and has been linked to an outbreak in another country because of his push for no vaccines. |
Kamala Harris |
I wouldn’t say I voted for Kamala Harris for any reason other than I wanted to vote against Trump. |
Kamala Harris |
I voted for Kamala Harris because she cares about the middle class, she cares about common sense gun laws, she cares about the department of education, she cares about women, and she cares about the children and future of our nation. Most importantly, she is not Donald Trump who I believe to be a threat to our democracy. She takes home buying into consideration and had plans to execute helping Americans buy a home. She is smart and extremely qualified for this position. I voted for Kamala Harris because I wanted myself, my daughter, and immigrants to be able to feel safe in this country. I wanted to see a woman win over a convicted felon. I wanted to see a woman win over a sexual abuser. I also loved Kamala Harris’s VP Tim Waltz. He shared the same amount of passion about schools and education as she did. This of course includes making sure kids in school get school lunches, regardless if they could pay or not. I voted for Kamala Harris because I fully believe she would have made America a better country. |
Kamala Harris |
Primarily in favor of the rights of women to choose what is best for their bodies. However, I do agree with some of Trumps policies. |
Donald Trump |
I do not support transgender rights and immigration became a huge problem in the country. Also, Roe v. Wade needs to be overturned again. |
Kamala Harris |
I voted for Kamala Harris in a reluctant way. I was not totally happy with her. I felt that it was possible that she would continue with the Biden policies when she took office. I was unhappy with her stand on the Gaza war and also the Ukraine war. But at the time she seemed better than voting for Donald Trump. And though I liked Jill Stein’s beliefs I felt that my vote would be wasted as she ran independent. |
Kamala Harris |
She was the best candidate and agreed with my stance on the most important social political topics. |
Jill Stein |
I had narrowed it down to two of the third-party candidates. I decided JILL Stein over Cornel West. I refused to vote for Harris or Trump. Jill Stein seemed like the more honest choice. |
Kamala Harris |
I believed that she was a better choice for a president because she would support the working class more than Trump would. Also, her cabinet would have had people that aligned with my interests more than Trump’s would, especially for departments such as education, energy, and transportation. |
Kamala Harris |
I strongly believe that forcing women to bear children they don’t want or won’t take care of can cause a plethora of other societal problems in the future so birth control and abortion access is very important to me. I also believe that background checks should be a prerequisite for gun ownership and that nobody needs an assault rifle. |
Donald Trump |
I align with his stance on subjects like immigration, family rights, and his general stance on “anti-wokism”. |
Kamala Harris |
I voted for Kamala Harris because I felt like she was the lesser of two evils. While I whole heartedly believe that politicians in general don’t hold up their “promises,” I felt more comfortable voting for someone who spoke as if they wanted to better the world. |
Kamala Harris |
Honestly, I voted for Kamala Harris because she wasn’t Trump. Trump’s approach and attitude are beyond what I can tolerate, so voting for her felt like a much-needed alternative. |
Kamala Harris |
Donald Trump is a egotistical self centered selfish individual. Even though Republican policies may benefit me more in the end, I cannot reward a individual I can’t respect with the Presidency of the US. |
Kamala Harris |
Not a fan, but I couldn’t stomach seeing Trump in the White House again. It wasn’t so much a vote for Harris, but it was a “no way” for Trump. Unfortunately, I live in Florida, where a vote for Harris doesn’t mean anything. |
Donald Trump |
His platform is more aligned with my perspective on how this country should be run. Stop the mass flow of illegal immigrations, prohibit men from participating in women’s sports, anti-DEI policies, controlling government spending, etc. |
Donald Trump |
Because of the economy and illegal immigration . I also felt he would be a strong and powerful leader. Also, I felt that Harris was much too liberal. She also was very unclear on most issues and dodged most questions. |
Kamala Harris |
I voted for Kamala Harris against Trump. I am a Republican but not Trump supporter. So, I supported Kamala to stop Trump. |
Kamala Harris |
To me, a vote for Kamala was a vote against Trump. While I don’t support her views on all issues, especially in regards to Palestine, I am terrified of what a Trump presidency could mean for our country. |
Donald Trump |
I mainly voted for Trump because I feel that he would improve our economy compared to the prior four years. His first term as president yielded a low inflation rate and low overall good prices. I do not know too much about Kamala and her accomplishments. |
Donald Trump |
I believe he can do more for our country than the current vp could do. If she was going to fix the us, she had 4 years to prove it and didn’t. |
Kamala Harris |
I thought she would do a better job of fixing the cost of living. I agreed with her policies in regard to economics |
Kamala Harris |
I literally only voted for her because she wasn’t Donald Trump and wasn’t a 3rd party candidate. I don’t have any strong positive feelings for her at all. I would have literally voted for anyone in the party opposing Trump. |
Donald Trump |
Trump even with many flaws is still the overall better candidate. He actually has policies and beliefs regardless of how good or crazy they are. With Trump you know what you are getting unlike Kamala. |
Cornel West |
I have a very strong distaste for the 2 party system, and believe that nothing is going to happen to change it if people do not try to vote 2 party. I could not justify voting for wither Trump or Harris, as I have some fundamental beliefs that misalign with them. I voted for Cornel West specifically because I believe in having highly educated people in office. I did not want to vote Jill Stein (though the candidates are similar), because I believe in the future of nuclear energy. |
Donald Trump |
I felt that he was the better choice. I do not believe that Mrs. Harris would have the ability or skills to run the country. I believe that President Trump knows more and he stands for many things that I stand for. I think life is vital and important. We must stand up for babies. |
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. |
I voted for Robert F Kennedy Junior, because I’m tired of the two-party political system. While I hold more Democratic views, I don’t believe Kamala Harris was qualified to run the country, based on her track record as vice president. I felt like Robert Kennedy would be someone who would make significant changes to many things that need revamping. He wants to reshape the health of America and deal with the corruption between the different entities that are benefiting financially, when they should be separating themselves due to conflict of interest. Corruption and financial greed has been at the forefront for too long and its time it is challenged. RFK is the best person to do that. |
Kamala Harris |
I don’t like Trump. I don’t exactly like Kamala Harris either, but I still figured it’s better than throwing my vote away by voting for a 3rd Party candidate. |
Kamala Harris |
I think are policies are better compared to the other candidates. I also think she is the most qualified |
Jill Stein |
I believe in the green partys overall non-war non-pollution non-big business plarform. I want the green party and other third parties to qualify for future election cycles so thats another reason I voted for them. Also my state as expected elected fully Democrat up and down the ballot including in the POTUS race as they have since 1988. |
Donald Trump |
I voted for Trump because I believe his policies will help our horrible economy recover so that inflation and groceries are not so high. |
Donald Trump |
He was the lessee of Teo evils, I did not believe in the other candidates. I think he will do the best job out of the current bunch |
Donald Trump |
Because Kamala never said anything about what she stood for or any plans, and at least he was a known quantity |
Kamala Harris |
When I went into my polling location, I had the intention to vote for Cornel West. When I got to my booth, however, I had a change of heart. I felt I had to make a more substantial vote against fascism, so I decided to vote for Kamala Harris instead. |
Kamala Harris |
Kamala was going to keep things normal. I really enjoy normalcy and not have to consider if the other guy in office was going to create chaos. |
Kamala Harris |
I prefer her policy and character over Donald Trump’s. She was ready to fight for women’s rights as well as rights for all, and take back our bodily autonomy. She had better tax policies that would have benefited low-income people such as myself and my family. Above all, she is not a convicted felon. |
Donald Trump |
I agree with some of the things he want to do. He speaks his mind and has personality. I was more confident in him because I know that he was president before |
Jill Stein |
For her stance on how to approach the situation in the middle east, particularly regarding israel. Also because of her open mindedness towards topics such as UBI |
Donald Trump |
I voted for Donald Trump because I don’t like the Democratic Party’s soft approach on crimes and illegal immigration. For the last few years, I’ve seen how crimes have been increasing due to liberal laws that would rather protect the criminals than hardworking citizens. For instance, California allows people to steal without any felony charges. Shouldn’t normal and hardworking citizens be prioritized? This is the main reason why I decided to vote for Trump; not because I like him, but I’m sick of the way the Democratic Party has been running things. |
Kamala Harris |
Voting against Trump & his agenda. I believe Kamala was pro-genocide, so voting for her was very difficult. |
Kamala Harris |
Kamala protects the rights that I care about in areas such as healthcare, the right to love who you want, and abortion. |
Kamala Harris |
Because I was anti-Trump. I wanted to protect women’s rights/human rights. I was worried that Trump would also increase activities that would emphasize climate change impacts. |
Claudia de la Cruz |
I voted for the party most aligned with the working class and against imperialism and war and genocide. |
Kamala Harris |
I’m not a huge Kamala Harris fan, so my vote was mostly a protest against Donald Trump. I think the guy is an unhinged narcissist, and that’s a dangerous person to have in office at a time of so much international tension and conflict, and when the economy may still be fragile during a soft landing. I think Trump’s pro-inflationary policies are going to totally screw over future generations, and I think his appointment of RFK Jr. to health-related positions is very dangerous for the country. |
Kamala Harris |
I think that she had the strength and assertiveness that is needed from the President as evidenced through her speaking and body language but also her experience as a prosecutor. I felt if she had more time to campaign and verbalize her plans and positions better, she would have easily won. I also voted for her because I fear that Donald Trump for this term is going to lead us too far down a dark path by being reckless. I actually approved of how he handled the presidency during his last term, and I disapproved of Biden, even though I lean more liberal. However, without a reason to hold on to Americans’ approval (a potential next term), he has no reason to appease anyone. I also don’t agree with some of his foreign policy, and I absolutely do not agree with his stance on immigration. This was another reason I voted for Harris, because although I don’t think she was particularly successful as vice president and may not be as president either, immigrants here in the U.S. who are often the backbone of our economy and our cultural diversity, will not be “rounded up” and “deported immediately.” ’This is fundamentally wrong and not what America represents. While I don’t think Trump is going to take away gay marriage or do much about abortion (tired issues), I do worry that he will create more divisiveness in this country and Kamala would have brought at least some neutrality, which is better than what we have now. |
myself |
I might have voted for the libertarian candidate if he was not pro-choice. I could do a better job than the others. I was not gonna vote for more taxes whether in the from of tariffs or inflation or whatever, and I was not gonna vote for warmongers. It was cool to see my name posted up on the window of the polling place as a write-in vote too. |
Donald Trump |
Because he was the (only slightly) lesser of two evils to vote for. I am not a fan of trump or harris, and have always considered myself a democrat - but this election has caused me to change my views slightly. |
Donald Trump |
Because we need to be stronger. We need to be more respected. We need to be feared. Nobody respects us now. We have never seemed more weak, and other countries believe they can walk all over us. |
Donald Trump |
I think he’s the best candidate to improve the economy and help the middle class. He’s also a stronger leader than Harris. |
Kamala Harris |
I voted her because she represents what i want the country to be and also because i wanted to see how it would look like if a woman gets to be president in the US. |
Donald Trump |
Largely it was a matter of the lesser of 2 evils. However, the Democrats have proven time and again that they do not care one damn bit about the people of this country. The unconscionable response to The ongoing tragedies from hurricane Helene, the continuous lies The billions sent overseas when there’s no money available to help her own citizens and in fact agencies under the Democrats everything to allow citizens to help other citizens are screaming examples of a bloated government at work with absolutely no care for the people that were supposed to have elected them. Their party of inclusivity is the most exclusive and narrow minded I’ve ever seen. The fact that they were able to shove Kamala Harris down the Democrats throats the way they did as their candidate was disgusting but even more disgusting was the Democrats willful ignorance and throwing dollar after dollar at this woman who has proven that she is a raging idiot on every level. I could not, in good conscience risk being the missing vote that might allow her to make it into office. |
Kamala Harris |
I would’ve voted for them both actually. I felt like kamala political outlook was more accommodating to all the people. This would have been her first time in office which would have given us insight on if she was going to stand on her electoral pitch |
Kamala Harris |
I reject the ideas of Donald Trump and his party. I reject the current Democratic party’s ideas as well. I wanted time to negotiate with the current democratic party about the issues they keep leaning right on. |
Kamala Harris |
I felt this was the best choice from her and Trump. Harris seems more in line with my outlook on issues like abortion and LGBT rights. I do wish the DNC would have held primaries because I didn’t feel like I had much of a choice. |
Kamala Harris |
I voted for Kamala Harris because I felt that she was the best option of my choices. The number one thing I need for a president is a respect for the rule of law. I do not feel the other main candidate, Donald Trump, has this respect for the rule of law. |
Donald Trump |
I liked him better than Kamala. I dislike both but I know what he is about at least. Plus everything is about identity nowadays and I have to stick up for my race and gender. |
Donald Trump |
I voted for Donald Trump because I believe he will do better things for our economy and to stop the immigration crisis. The Venezuelans have completely taken over our cities and are costing us tax dollars. Also, I believe most candidates are pawns of the establishment, but Trump is real. |
Donald Trump |
My top tier issues were international relations and transfer pymts. Under Biden/harris the world has become much more dangerous. Our enemies are working together to change the world order. The Afghanistan pullout, acquiescing to Iran, mismanaging Ukraine etc all fall under Biden/harris. Trumps no international master but he will be better than the status quo. Second, the dems keep trying to create a bigger social net. We are too much in debt, we need people working not getting handouts. The economy and inflation were second tier reasons. I understand immigration was the hot topic, but felt this was already in the road to self correcting. Even liberal states like ny, Ma, ca have had enough. Nonetheless, trump will be more disciplined re immigration. Neither candidate ran a great campaign. |
Kamala Harris |
I wasn’t going to pick either of them, but then my daughter kept telling me to vote for “the girl” and I was thinking about how I have to vote for my daughter and her future. Even though I’m annoyed by a lot with the Democratic Party, I don’t want my daughter living in a country that’s just moving backwards and chipping away at her rights. So I voted with her in mind. |
Kamala Harris |
I voted for Kamala Harris, because I think Trump is going to be bad for the nation and the world. Trump has no morals, and is just a terrible human being and I thought it would be shameful to have him as president again. |
Kamala Harris |
I voted for her because I wanted to see women’s rights and reproduction be legalized. I also was concerned over Donald Trump’s intentions for the boundary water canoeing area which is near and dear to my heart. |
Donald Trump |
His policies align more with mine. Also the state of the economy and immigration is big issue for me |
Kamala Harris |
I did not want the project 2025 world for my daughters. I thought that it would be a better environment for all my kids to grow up in not just my daughters as well. I did not trust that Trump would be for the people any more |
Kamala Harris |
Because Trump is a disgrace & very distasteful human being. I personally would vote for ANYONE that runs against him. |
Kamala Harris |
She incited the least hate of the two groups. People that tend to flock to the right are much more judgmental people. Kamala was more of a moderate human being. |
Peter Sonski |
I wanted a pro-life candidate - in a sense I’m a single issue voter who is pro-life. But also, I think the American Solidarity Party has a strong and consistent set of values that would benefit our country greatly. |
Kamala Harris |
I refuse to vote for a rapist, 34 count felon, who will not even allow other felons to vote, get entry level jobs or cheap homes. I believe that the obvious answer was the person who was not just spewing hate. I also think everyone could have done better getting young people to the polls. I know people who are actively suicidal because of Trump being in office. He’s not a politician, he’s a business man who promised all of these people their guns and money and everyone’s just running with the punches. |
Donald Trump |
Although I’m not too fond of him as a person, he actually explained what his policies would be and stood for what he thinks is right. I do want a female president one day but I wasn’t wanting it to be Kamala |
Kamala Harris |
I personally saw the two candidates as two evils but I decided to pick who I thought was the lesser evil. While both parties didn’t really math with my beliefs, I saw that the republicans were trying to reduce the rights of trans people and LGBTQ and I have many friends and family who would be affected by these policies. |
Chase Oliver |
I always vote for a third party because I believe the two party system is ruining this country. The libertarian party fits most closely to my own values. |
Donald Trump |
He understands how to get the economy going and helping the middle class way more than the last administration did. He also understands without a southern border the United States is no longer a country, this is unacceptable and is destroying whole industries that America was built on! Do I love how Trump acts and his actions all the time, absolutely not, but I think that a lot of people feel the same way and the results followed. |
Donald Trump |
Frustrated with the current direction of the country , especially with the expansion of wars around the world. Kamala was not elected as the nominee, she was appointed as part of a soft coup. |
Claudia de la Cruz |
Her campaign platform policies were the most in-line with my own political priorities and I strongly felt her policies and direction would be what the country actually needs. |
Donald Trump |
I voted for Trump because I think he is the better leader out of the two candidates. I think he can do a better job with the economy than Kamala. Also, I liked some of his ideas more than hers. |
Bob Weir |
I am not satisfied enough / do not know enough about the candidates running for president. I did not do enough research so I voted for a peaceful musical legend. |
Kamala Harris |
I thought she would be a better choice than Trump due to his divisiveness, focus on reducing regulations for corporations, and too far right leaning sentiments. I thought she would be a more stable president. |
Kamala Harris |
I am very concerned about another Trump presidency, and I would have voted for whoever the Democratic candidate was. Kamal Harris was an exciting candidate because she is not a felon, she is willing to work with people in other political parties and with other beliefs, and she said she would protect women’s rights. I am very afraid as a woman of childbearing age of four years of Trump and/or Vance. |
Kamala Harris |
Considering that the US is a two party system essentially, I def did not want to vote for Trump. Harris wasn’t my ideal candidate, but she’s way better than Trump. |
Kamala Harris |
I am a member of the Democratic party. I am also a woman, I consider myself a feminist and I am strongly in favor of women’s rights. |
Kamala Harris |
I settled for Harris because I don’t support conservative agenda and hateful rhetoric. That is pretty much it. She’s no progressive champion. Neither was Obama or Biden. I chose her over voting third party because no third party has garnered the support to even acquire 5% of the vote, nor are they featured in elections in all 50 states. |
Donald Trump |
I voted for him because he seems to have the best interest of Americans compared to the other running mates. We’ve already had him as a president, so we have an idea of what kind of president he is. |
Donald Trump |
I voted for President Donald Trump because I really don’t like a lot of the things that the Biden administration had been doing the last few years the mandates during covid them being okay with biological males being a woman’s Sports them supporting children transitioning the situation with the borders them letting 20 million illegal immigrants into the country and taking care of those illegal immigrants it was also hurtful to see I’m very disappointed in my nation for letting that happen. I do not like Donald Trump as a person I think he doesn’t have the best morals and character but I do feel that he is better when it comes to our economy and National Security also the last few things I’ll say are that the war and the genocide of the Palestinians really really hurt my heart I couldn’t believe that our government was letting that happen. All these things caused me to vote for Trump and even now I feel sad because I see a lot of people hurt and distressed about Trump winning but a lot of these people aren’t looking at the bigger picture also I did a little research and then I realized that the project 2025 will more than likely not happen so I’m okay with the fact that I’ve ordered for Trump and I hope that in the future our government provides us with better leaders |
Kamala Harris |
She wasn’t promising to destroy the country. I hate Donald Trump and have never voted for him. He’s a fucking horrible human being |
Kamala Harris |
I just didn’t want Trump to win. I don’t like Kamala Harris but she was the only person who had a good chance of beating Trump. |
Jill Stein |
I didn’t like the current voting options. I dislike the two party voting system. It isn’t designed to benefit he voter it is designed to divide and cause friction. The more division the less each party has to try in terms of quality candidates and passing legislation that will actually help the voter instead of just going back and forth trying to undo what the previous party had done during he last election cycle. I would be happy to vote for one of the parties if they produced candidates worthy of a vote |
Kamala Harris |
trump is an old man and is absolutely out of his mind and tax plan only benefits the rich. i dont love kamala but she is coherent and isnt a felon |
Kamala Harris |
I absolutely despised Harris and her socialism, but there was no way in the world I could ever vote for trump |
claudia de la cruz |
I hate democrats because they completely ignored the plight of common people and were incredibly arrogant |
Donald Trump |
Donald trump seems to be more authentic and doesnt take anything rom anyone. I like that from him. I am excited |
Donald Trump |
I was going to vote for Harris but once I had the ballot I figure it just got with my gut instinct so I went with Trump. Trump still had some policies I do like and I felt I should look pass the little things in terms how the media tried to portray him. |
Kamala Harris |
I felt that she was the more compassionate candidate when it came to women’s rights. The environment, too. I just felt more comfortable voting for her. |
Kamala Harris |
Trump is terrifying for the democracy as a whole. It signifies the loss of rights for millions of people. Possible loss of medical benefits for millions. Loss of reproductive rights. Mass deportation which will lead to families being ripped apart. Possible repeal of gay marriage and so on. |
Jill Stein |
We need to build up a third party as we no longer have real choices in our elections. If I lived in a swing state I might have voted for Kamala, but my anger at the Democratic party for supporting the slaughter in Gaza and silencing decent might have made me make the same decision. |
Kamala Harris |
I disliked Trump’s character and feared the repercussions if he won. I thought Kamala would be a better option for our country. |
Donald Trump |
I voted for Donald Trump because I thought he was the best candidate available. He has the best policy stances. He will strengthen the economy and that is what I need to happen right now. I feel that the competition did not have the best interests for America. |
Kamala Harris |
She was the less bad candidate, her policies weren’t particularly outstanding but she seemed far preferable to a someone facing 30+ felony convictions. |
Kamala Harris |
I was not happy with either Trump or Harris. I think that Trump is too extreme for me and will send the country backwards in time with his ultra conservative agenda. This is mainly why I voted for Harris. |
Kamala Harris |
I’m a registered republican, and I have voted for Trump in the past, I just couldn’t do it this year. I don’t agree with a lot of his policies, especially women’s rights. I also fear for what will happen to Ukraine since Trump is friendly with Putin. |
Donald Trump |
I voted for Donald Trump because he is a Republican and I feel that it is time for a change in the economy that Democrats are not taking care of. |
Donald Trump |
I support the Second Amendment. I believe our right to bear arms is just as important at the First Amendment. I think that if we did not have the Second Amendment we would not be able to keep the First Amendment. I as a woman have the right to defend myself against others that are stronger or bigger than I am. |
Kamala Harris |
Donald trump’s proposed policies would greatly hurt the working class and only line the pockets of the rich. His tariffs would harm our economy, hurt job growth, and increase the rate of inflation. |
Donald Trump |
|
Donald Trump |
I felt like he presented as a stronger leader to this unstable world. He has a ’ don’t mess with America’ attitude. I also felt like he could do more for the economy and at the minimum secure our border. He is not a perfect candidate but the better choice. As a side note; I was very turned off by all the liberal moviestars/entertainers that showed up for Kamala in the final weeks. They are very wealthy and liberal~ not like me for sure! |
Kamala Harris |
I had to hold my nose, I’ll tell you that much. Seeing the federal government dismantled and replaced with Trump loyalists will be harrowing to witness. |
Kamala Harris |
I really didn’t like either option, but at least Kamala wasn’t a convicted felon. I think both parties have lost touch with reality and this whole nation is slowly burning to the ground, and I was hoping a vote for Kamala would slow it down. |
Kamala Harris |
I didn’t pay too much to the issues and mainly just voted in accordance to how my other friends voted. |
Donald Trump |
He had a very clear and strong stance on immigration and the border. He puts more rights to the states which I really like. |
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. |
Because I feel like the dems and Republicans have dominated and nothing has changed for the better so we need to try something different. |
Donald Trump |
Democrats are unorganized and can’t be trusted with the economy. I also like JD Vance as a VP. Republicans hopefully can fix the economy. |
Chase Oliver |
I couldn’t in good conscience vote for the Democratic or Republican candidate. I feel an obligation to vote because I’m a female but both main options were awful. Although, I also didn’t like chase Oliver very much, he aligns closer with my views than the other candidates. |
Kamala Harris |
I completely believe that she is the better option, versus Trump. Donald Trump has shown that he is very unfit to be our president, while Kamala has shown us the complete opposite. Every bad thing that I have heard or seen about her has been speculation that Trump’s insane supporters have put out there. |
Kamala Harris |
I question the tariffs and feel medical issues will be worse under Trump. I just prefer the status quo instead of change I suppose. I feel Trump might be better in the long run possibly. |
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. |
Because the two main party candidates aren’t people I feel comfortable voting for. I wish there were other options. |
Kamala Harris |
I voted for Kamala Harris because I couldn’t stomach how Donald Trump acted throughout his campaign. I was a Trump fan during his first election, but I believe that over time, he really started to show his true colors. |
Donald Trump |
I feel he is the best candidate (from all the candidates that ran) to run the country. He is a straightforward, honest individual who holds nothing back. I do not want anyone who isn’t their authentic selves to be the head of the nation. |
Kamala Harris |
She was a lot better than Trump so I had to go with her and I also liked some of her policy proposals. |
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. |
He was the closest to my political ideology. I live in a state where my vote doesn’t matter, so I preferred to vote for someone I actually agree with rather than the lesser of two evils. |
Donald Trump |
because I belive in a lot of the things he said, like closing the border, sending undocumented people back to there country, and policy on abortion. |
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. |
cause i was unsure of trump or kamala hate the fact that folks dont know they can vote in a third pary candidant |
Kamala Harris |
I thought her believes were more in line with mine over Donald Trump’s beliefs and policies. I also consider myself slightly leaning left |
Donald Trump |
As a Black woman, I felt like Kamala Harris was pushed on us, almost as if we were all supposed to see her as a “fellow” black woman who understands our struggles- when clearly, she doesn’t. It felt like pandering, and it was just too much. The DNC events were especially cringeworthy. Don’t get me wrong- I love Beyonce, and I listen to a bit of Meg and Glo- but the DNC was definitely not the place for booty clapping and shaking. I would rather sit through another 90+yrs of empty Democratic promises than feell insulted like that. The Dems have had their time, and they’ve gotten us nowhere. Now it’s time to pool the black vote and give someone else a shot. Trump, you’re up. |
Kamala Harris |
i love the policy of Harris. her policy on the economy and the immigration. |
Donald Trump |
I thought both candidates were not good choices for president, but ultimately I thought Trump had more experience and had better policies despite his character flaws. Harris also did not run a good campaign in my opinion and did not answer pertinent questions about her policies when asked. |
Donald Trump |
immigration and economy issues would benefit from having trump in the office. i also like his promise to tighten the spending in us through elon musk’s initiatives. |
Donald Trump |
I believe we were better off under him than we have been the past 4 years under the Biden administration. I do not trust Kamala Harris, I believe her campaign was built on lies and division. |
Jill Stein |
I wasn’t particularly happy with either Harris or Trump. Both are more concerned about supporting other countries and not the American people. |
Donald Trump |
I thought he was the better candidate in comparison to Kamala Harris and I thought he surrounded himself with better people. |
Kamala Harris |
Better of two evils. I do not believe in the majority of what she stands for but there will be more suffering under Donald Trump. |
Kamala Harris |
She seemed to be the best of 2 really bad choices. Project 2025 scared me to death and seemed to be the worst possible outcome. |
Donald Trump |
It was a toss up to be honest. Prayers for the USA! I think he will do great. I have a little faith in him. |
Kamala Harris |
People voted for Kamala Harris because they see her as tough on issues like criminal justice reform, healthcare, and women’s rights. Her experience as a former prosecutor and Attorney General brings a lot of legal and governmental know-how that feels solid in a leadership role. Plus, as the first woman of color in the Vice Presidency, she represents a big milestone, which appeals to people who value diversity and inclusion in our government. |
Kamala Harris |
I voted for her because I fell for/ somewhat believed in the rationalization that she was the lesser evil compared to trump. I still strongly opposed her, and did not feel great about voting for her. I didn’t really outwardly support her. I think that she doesn’t have solid political values, punched left too often toward progressives, agreed with/pledged to work with republicans who constantly screw over the democratic party. |
Donald Trump |
My views on economy and his were the same and his immigration policy also. I also like how is authentic |
Donald Trump |
I felt the country was headed in the wrong direction with the Democratic Party in charge and was less than impressed with Kamala Harris. |
Jill Stein |
I wanted to vote for someone whose ideals aligned with mine more closely regarding (anti)war, the environment, human rights, climate, general well-being. The person I truly wanted to vote for was Bernie Sanders and I know I am not alone in being outraged how the Democratic Party/DNC edged him out in both 2016 and 2020. Things like that as well as not wanting to make more dramatic change and offer things up to people who are struggling are why the Democrats did not prevail. |
Donald Trump |
Kamala campaign was terrible. They adopted the left ideology and not policies. They are strayed too far . Trump will bring back security to US, lower taxes, no over time taxes, and respect among world leaders |
Kamala Harris |
I voted for her because I felt I needed to vote for a woman to be in office. I felt she would be okay as the president even though I like trump too |
Cornel West |
My ideals more closely aligned with Cornel West’s campaign. I do not like democratic or republican candidates most of the time, if at all. I also was not too interested in Kennedy’s campaign, and felt more aligned with West’s. |
Donald Trump |
I dont like him as a person but I thought he was a better choice. I care about the economy more than wanting to get an abortion. I also think that the Democrat party robbed people of a primary election. one large things is this - either Harris knew that Biden was going senile and lied about it or she didnt know and is incompetent. I am not sure which is worse. |
Donald Trump |
The economy is suffering under the current administration. I feel that the other candidate neither offered a change from the current policies nor was she qualified or trustworthy to hold the office. |
Kamala Harris |
It’s sad but because she wasn’t trump. Trump brings out the worst in people. Kamala in office was the better out come |
Donald Trump |
I voted for him because of his genuine bluntness and beliefs; he knew what he did wrong in his first go around and devised a plan to mitigate it. His Agenda 47 plans really sat with my beliefs as a whole and what I generally wanted to see happen, while Kamala’s agenda was just lackluster overall and tried highlighting “Project 2025,” which Trump has officially stated he’s not a part of. |
Jill Stein |
I could not vote for Harris or Trump as both support further genocide in Gaza and do not have economic policies that are helpful either. |
Kamala Harris |
Trump is a threat to democracy as he despises the constitution and only cares about himself. I may not agree with Kamala but at least she was boring |
Donald Trump |
I really despise Kamala Harris and what the democratic party now stands for. It’s obvious that it’s all completely performative. |
Donald Trump |
I felt like he knew more about his policies than Kamala did, while Kamala said she would not do anything different in her last 4 years as VP |
Peter Sonski |
I voted for Peter Sonski because the American Solidarity Party is most aligned with my political beliefs. |
Kamala Harris |
Because I hate Donald Trump and everything he represents. She wouldn’t be the best option but it’s the only choice right now |
Kamala Harris |
Nothing special. Didn’t like the other options. No other reasons. So I think she has logical reasoning skills. |
Donald Trump |
I believe he would get more things done for the American people more than Kamala who couldn’t even explain what she would do different than the Biden administration. |
Donald Trump |
I feel that he will fix the problems with inflation and solve the issues at the border. Also I know what to expect with a Donald Trump presidency where the only experience I have with a Kamala Harris presidency is the current President Biden and I don’t like President Biden. I also felt that a lot of time, Harris was lying to me. |
IF [No Vote]: In your own words, why did you not vote?
why_novote_t2 |
---|
i don’t think my vote matters and it’s pointless to vote because nothing changes. it seemed like voting is useless |
With little kids at home it makes finding time difficult. South Dakota is also a heavily republican state so I already knew Donald Trump would win our state. Our state also only has 3 electoral votes, so we aren’t really even an impact in the election. |
I really didn’t like either of the major candidates. Either one of them winning would mean a loss of rights for the American people. |
I was going to vote for RFK jr before he pulled out of the race. I do not want to support either of the two major parties no matter who is running because I think the two party system in America needs to end. |
I honestly have never cared much about politics. But as I kept doing studies about politics I was wishing I had registered to vote and I really regret not voting |
because neither of the candidates felt competent enough for me and it felt like a sham to just vote for someone I didn’t wanted in office. |
I voted locally but not for president. I will not vote Democrat but I couldn’t bring myself to vote for Trump. I don’t like how he presents himself or the sexual assault stories from his past. I would’ve liked a sophisticated and smarter representative such as Nikki Haley. |
I was traveling and when I got back in town I was sick. I don’t feel well enough to leave my house to go anywhere. |
I didn’t really feel that either of the candidates was a very good choice. They both have major issues, Trump is way to brazen and rude and I dont agree with Kamala’s policies |
None of the candidates were worth voting for, and wasting my time on. So I decided to not vote at all. |
The voter registration period expired before I could register. I did not realize that the date had passed and I was unable to vote |
This was largely due to not being registered in my current location. No other factors come to mind. |
I did not vote because I do not support any of the candidates that are running for president in the 2024 presidential election. I also did not vote because I personally do not support the idea of voting in general because I believe that placing a vote gives permission for someone else to control over your life which I disagree with. |
I want to stay off jury duty rolls due to social anxiety. I don’t have 100 characters to explain that |
Neither candidate achieved the bare minimum of securing my endorsement. I see them both as wholly unqualified for the office |
I don’t think it matters. Whoever ends up in office, they will not help or care about people like me. The needs of the American people don’t matter to people in power. |
Honestly, because neither candidate (Harris or Trump) seemed like a good choice. Harris came off as fake to me and I think Trump is incompetent. Plus, I felt that my vote would not matter much. |
I did not vote because I did not feel that either candidate was going to be worth voting for and they are equally unqualified to run the country. |
I truly believe that whomever is president makes little to no true difference. From a big picture view, major things - crime, health, war - will not change. |
I didn’t like any of the choices for President and there’s policies on both sides that I really dislike. |
I did not think any of the candidates represented my values and needs. The choices were poor, so I chose not to make a choice between a list of unfit candidates. |
I didn’t register in time so I couldn’t.I wanted to though.I would’ve voted for Trump because I’m sick of the Biden administration and democrats ruining everything. |
I can’t stand politics and I’m in the middle on political views as far as being liberal or conservative. I don’t like politicians they don’t care about the normal American they care B about making themselves more rich. |
I was not able to detect the lesser of two evils. In the past I have held my nose and voted for Trump twice, but I can no longer do that. While I believe it is my duty as a citizen to vote, circumstances of my life are preoccupying enough that it feels somewhat justified to withdraw from civic involvement, but mostly I just really dislike both candidates. |
I didn’t really want to be part of this election and the divisiveness. Plus, I don’t think that my vote really matters much in the end. Either way, lots of good and bad things happen to the country, and I don’t have much control of that. A vote feels less powerful than everyone makes it seems. |
I did not actually like any of the candidates. I liked Kamala stance on pollution, but I knew Trump would most likely win so I did not vote. |
I do not vote because I don’t want to have jury duty and I have health problems. I don’t trust mail in voting |
Both of the viable candidates were Capitalists - voting for one or the other won’t significant change anything in my life. Kamala is a Meritocratic grifter, and Trump is a rich failson. Both are worthless to the working-class, and actively scheme against our interests. Fuck them both. |
I really don’t care about it because they are going to put whoever they want in there anyway. I think they are selected and not elected. |
I live in California, and while I would have voted for Donald Trump had I voted, I just didn’t see the point of doing so here. If I had recieved a mail-in ballot I would have, but I did not. I didn’t see any way Trump would win California. |
I was not happy with either candidate . And I live in California where my vote wouldn’t have made a difference either way because California always goes blue. |
I honestly don’t care about voting. I never have I never will. I don’t trust anyone anymore. THis is going to be a nightmare |
I feel my vote had no weight in this election. I feel my state would of chosen Trump no matter what as its a heavy red state. I also felt they were both equally bad for our country and would be a waste to vote for either. |
I did not want to choose between a “lesser of two evils.” Neither candidate was qualified in my opinion. I could have voted independent, but it would just be a wasted vote and a waste of time. |
I don’t really feel the need to. Nothing much really changes for me either way no matter who wins. Nothing really changes for my community at large. If we have needs we help each other. A president doesn’t change that. |
I don’t like or trust either candidate and did not really like their policies. If I had to vote I would of voted for Trump because I think he is funny, but that’s about it. |
I don’t know enough or care enough about politics to make an informed decision, and I’m not going to vote for a random person who I know nothing about. I have to many other things to deal with right now (homelessness, job searching, health issues, etc.) to spend time on politics, and I am also just uninterested. |
I was not able to get to the polls. But I wish I could have! I was sick during early voting and out of town |
I was extremely busy and then didn’t send off for my mail in ballot and in Illinois I wasn’t concerned with anything on my ballot and this is not a swing state. |
The probability of my vote mattering is so low that it doesn’t matter. I don’t live in a swing state, and even the “EV argument” is unconvincing since I have no way of estimating the value of a Harris win. |
I was unsure how to do it and I felt too anxious to go in person. I’ve also been overwhelmed managing personal things that making sure I was registered, figuring out how to vote, etc felt so overwhelming. I do regret not voting. |
voting would have been voting for the lessor of 2 evils. therefore, it was difficult to make either choice, and at the end, i was okay with either, so i let the rest of my fellow citizens decide |
I suppose I just don’t like the choices. They never give us anybody who we might actually want as our president. |
i do not feel that my vote would matter, or that it would be worth the effort of registering and going to vote |
I live in California and it was a forgone conclusion that Harris would get the electoral college votes. |
We live in an oligarchy, not a democracy. There is no point in voting when both parties serve the same corporate interests and hate the working class. |
I didn’t vote because I felt disconnected from the candidates and issues, and couldn’t find reliable info. |
My vote wouldnt have mattered. I live in a state that has voted democratic for the last 100 years. I think your vote is only significant if you live in a purple state or one that is on the verge of turning. |
I live in a state with very few Electoral votes. I do not feel that my vote would matter in this state. |
I never received my ballot in the mail and did not want to drive out ti a polling place in person to vite |
I do not believe that my vote matters. I live in a solidly red state so I know how it will vote. I have never voted before and I did not find either candidate compelling enough to start voting now. |
I felt like despite knowing my single vote would make a difference, it would not shift the balance massively. I understand it would be an issue if everybody thought like this and it would cause a lack of democratic representation, however, I know many others feel more strongly about politics than I do. I don’t feel like either candidate is going to make a difference in my day to day life. I feel like who the president is doesn’t have as much bearing on my life as others think it does. |
Because I am in a state that is always blue, I think my vote will not impact the result and therefore I didn’t vote. |
I didn’t vote because I wasn’t confident in the options available. I felt uncertain about the impact of my decision and didn’t want to choose something I might regret later. |
It was a personal choice. I feel that the presidential race is predetermined. |
I had to work most of election night and also had to help my disabled relative so I didn’t have time to vote early. I had a lot of things that needed to get done and didn’t think of voting. |
I did not like Kamala Harris or Donald Trump. Kamala felt incredibly faked and forced upon as a candidate. Donald Trump comes off as incredibly dumb, and I don’t like him. |
I was going to vote for Trump but being a California resident it seemed for sure that he would still lose California since it’s a heavy left-leaning state. |
I did not have anyone that I cared to vote for. I did not feel like either candidate represented my votes. I am pretty much apolitical now. |
I live in CA so voting wasn’t as important to me. Also registering for votes leads to ads and mailers which I did not want |
The address on my driver’s license does not match my voter registration. I could not afford to update my license ($25), so I did not think I would be eligible to vote. |
I live in Florida, which was guaranteed to go to Trump. I also didn’t like any of the other candidates, so I left that part of my ballot blank. |
I decided not to because of travel and other factors. If I would have, it would have been Trump. I think that he has the potential to make very sound decisions for our economy and our country as a whole. It is necessary that things be turned around for the better of the nation. |
Both parties are a different arm of the same party. I think they are not the ones in control but only puppets ultimately |
I was extremely ill and missed the deadline to submit my ballot. Unfortunately this is not something I am proud of and was truly looking forward to placing my vote. |
i did not like any of my options and i felt my vote meant nothing anyways so i did not vote for this reason |
I’m just not happy with either of the 2 parties and didn’t prefer either of the 2 “viable” candidate enough to go out and vote for them. None of my priorities are priorities of the current democrats or republicans, so not sure I’ll ever vote unless we get a system like ranked choice voting or a popular independent candidate to stir up the current status quo. |
I disliked both Trump and Harris. 3rd Party votes are throwaways. I did not want to cast a vote based on who I disliked less, nor did I want to vote for someone as a vote against the opponent. I decided to abstain out of protest for lack of a desirable candidate. |
I didn’t feel the need to vote this year as I saw a clear winner many days before voting started. |
The candidates I wanted to vote for were not on my state ballot. I saw no reason to force myself to vote for Trump, expecting Harris to win my state, which she did. |
It would not have mattered if I voted. I don’t think it would ever matter. I’m registered in a red state and would have voted blue. |
My vote does not matter, I believe it doesn’t matter at all. Also, where I live, it did not matter. My state is one that is the last to get the votes in, they are still counting them, But even now trump is the winner, so even if I went out to vote for president, it wouldn’t have mattered |
If voting changed anything it would be illegal, and the 2000 election is proof of that. I do not identify as an average American, I do not like the average American and I do not care what the average American does. laws are not meant for me, and I cannot believe I am judged to the same standards as ANYONE who believes Trump is good or honorable in any way. The man is a traitor to the state, a Russian proxy puppet, and horrible person. I do not like any of the choices, and the only two that had any chance of winning were laughable at best. Best to go hands off and let history unfold. |
I did not think my vote really mattered and honestly I had no strong opinions. I did not think either candidate was amazing and I did not see a reason to vote for the lesser evil. I figured it would only be a tough time for 4 years, worse case. |
My absentee ballot was not sent and I had no way to make it to vote in person. I have no modes of transportation or have anyone who could have brought me. |
Neither of them is my ideal presidential candidate. I’m concerned about Donald Trump’s repeated offensive racial remarks and their impact on citizens from diverse racial backgrounds. Conversely, Kamala Harris’s handling of immigration, particularly regarding illegal border crossings during Biden’s presidency, raises questions about her overall capabilities. |
I live in California where it feels like my vote doesn’t make a difference either way. Mostly I didn’t care for either top candidate or the alternatives. |
I do not like being involved in politics and I also do not trust politicians enough to vote. I have not voted in devades. |
because I live in California not a swing state. at this point convincing people outside of a swing state that their vote matters is like convincing people Santa Claus is real, it’s just getting silly. pretending I’m counted in a process just for the sake of doing the process is not somehow respectful to the process. if it wants me in it then the system would make a place for me and it’s pathetic to just send in a worthless ballot for the sake of saying I voted knowing it will never change the system into something that will work on my behalf |
Because the only viable choice was between a capitalist with fascist aesthetics and a capitalist with neoliberal aesthetics. |
I did not vote because I did not feel either candidate was qualified to hold the office. Voting for the lesser of two evils is not a viable option. I also think the Electoral College needs to be abolished and the popular vote should be how election winners are determined. These are the reasons why I did not vote. |
I did not feel like voting because my state is not a battleground state. It is crazy what has happened. |
They all the same people full of lies and misrepresention. Me as a person need money and food so I need real truth from our presidents and senators. |
Because my vote and voting in general do not matter. I don’t enjoy or pay any attention to politics |
I didn’t really care for any of the candidates. We honestly need a more balanced president instead of one extreme or another. |
I feel that my vote doesn’t matter. Whoever the government wants in will win. The peoples votes don’t actually matter. |
I voted for local elections but for the presidential it didn’t matter to me for the president because they are both a joke to me. |
I felt that because of the state I live in (Louisiana), my vote would not greatly impact the outcome of the election. As expected, my state overwhelmingly supported Donald Trump. |
I live in a solidly blue state so Kamala was going to win it no matter what, I withheld my vote because none of the candidates were as far to the left as I am, and you can’t vote your way out of fascism. |
Because Tennessee and all of it’s electoral votes would go to Trump anyway because only two sates have proportional electoral votes. |
I live in a state that always swings Republican. I think that my one vote for Democrats would not sway the state and allow for the electoral college vote to go to the Democratic candidate. |
Health wise I wasn’t feeling up to going out to the polls to vote yesterday so I decided it was best to stay home and watch the election results news instead. |
One, I’m in a blue state, so I had the luxury to sit out, and two, I could not vote for a candidate who promised to continue supporting a genocide. |
I don’t know enough about politics to make an informed decision. Also, I live in New York which the Democratic Party always wins. |
I was so disappointed in the far right and far left stances of the two parties that I chose not to vote. I am looking for a moderate and someone who can work with both parties. For every plus, each candidate had, there was an opposite and equal negative. |
I had to work yesterday and I was not able to make it to the voting place. I was also not registered to vote. |
I am not registered to vote. I’m on the autism spectrum so I really do not get emotional about the results of any presidential election outcomes. On the other hand I’m happy for Donald Trump winning this election. |
Democracy is a sham and this system is ridiculous. I think America as a country is really backwards and their continuous effort to put people in power who only make the lives of their very own citizens worse is baffles me. At the end of the day you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink. Democracy isn’t the answer, Islam is, but people would rather suffer with a system that doesn’t work than admit that Islam, an unfairly demonized religion, has the truth this world is seeking. I mean, it’s literally in the name, Islam comes from the root of Salam (don’t quote me on that) which means peace. Peace internally and if we all lived by it peace in the world as well. |
Have never voted because I”m just not that interested in politics and sometimes feel most presidents do’nt do what they say they will do |
I did not want to vote for Harris or Democrats. I support Republican policies in general but was hesitant to vote for Trump. I also knew that Trump would win by a lot in my red state, so it didn’t seem necessary either way. I’ve really lost faith in politicians in general; I think they’re all out for themselves. Finally, I am friends with people who would hate me if they knew I lean Republican, so I suppose it’s an unintended benefit and a relief to be able to say I didn’t vote for Trump, though they might hate me anyway if they find out I also didn’t vote for Harris. |
I waited in line for a long time, but it did not seem worth it. I live in Chicago and it did not seem worth it. My vote would not have meant anything and waiting 4+ hours was a ridiculous ask. Chicago election board needs to get its act together with these wait times. |
Kamala is clearly not black, but pretended to be. She also threw Biden under the bus. She never answered a question. She had no plan, and worst of all. Her party ran on Abortion Rights. How ridiculous. It’s important to some, but not all. |
Because I didn’t like or trust either of the main candidates. I don’t like trump or the type of racist people that feel empowered by him. And I don’t trust Harris because she never was in the election until Biden dropped out, and she never gave any reason why she would change anything. |
Trump and Jim Justice were definitely going to win overwhelmingly in my state. I knew it wouldn’t matter much, and I was taking care of a sick kid anyway. |
I just didn’t think it mattered whether I voted or didn’t vote. My one little vote wouldn’t have made any difference at all. |
I felt that both were horrible choices. I had no desire to see either of the individuals (Trump and Harris) in office. I was extremely unmotivated. |
Both of the candidates were awful options and I could not knowingly vote for either of them. The’yre both incompitent |
I thought that my vote would not make a different in the grand scheme of things. I also did not feel that I know enough of the truth about each candidate to make a proper informed decision. |
I didn’t think it would make a difference. I didn’t believe present day America was ready to elect a Black Woman president, one who did not even get her nomination through the primaries |
I felt both candidates were so bad that I had real fear of what the future may look like under their leadership. I didn’t want their actions in office to weigh on my conscience so I abstained. |
I live in Alabama. It’s a red state. It’s feels like possible into the wind. I would have voted Libertarian had I voted. I am also registered in another county and don’t drive. |
Didn’t have a way to get my id or to go vote. So transportation issues. I would of probably voted for Trump. |
I didn’t vote in the 2024 election out of personal protest. Neither of the two leading candidates are qualified to run our country and both are dangerous to USA’s future. Trump, the winner, is a dangerous narcissist and pathological liar. He had his prior four-year term and succeeded in dividing America, among other issues. And Harris is a moron. Like Trump, she just finished a four-year term with little to show for it. And she did nothing to stop the murder and genocide in Palestine. But on the campaign trail, she said she would stop it. F**k her. |
I did not prefer either candidate due to not being able to relate to them both through policies or personalities |
It doesn’t make any difference to me who the president is, so I use the time for more productive activities. |
I didn’t see a candidate that i actually like enough to vote for. I also thought that no matter who i voted for, America would be screwed over anyways. |
I didn’t like either candidate. Both candidates had policies I did not agree with, and I felt I would be choosing between the better of the worst. I also did not want to vote for a third-party, because I felt like that would be throwing away my vote as well. |
I thought about it for a long time. But ultimately, there simply was no candidate involved in this election that I felt strongly enough about to give them my vote. Neither the Republicans or the Democrats, at least in my opinion, have shown that they have a clear and decisive direction for getting this country back on track. I hope I’m wrong about that. But it’s how I currently feel. |
I didn’t care to register to vote since I’d moved and id had a feeling trump was going to win either way. |
I didn’t like either candidates. Felt like whoever won, I’d still be fucked. In hindsight though, I probably should have voted for the lesser of two evils. |
I did not see a point to it. The government manages to be both corrupt and inept. It doesn’t really matter who gets in there so I don’t see why I should vote at all. |
I think both candidates are fundamentally dishonest and disrespectful in the way the campaign. If you want to know who somebody votes for it just depends on which flavor of propaganda they consume. What they get told to do comes before actual independent thought. |
After doing my research, my views did not align with any of the candidates in this cycle and I would rather not vote than to just do either an ill-intent or “throwaway” vote. |
As a student who does not go to school in their hometown, I opted for a mail in ballot, but it never came. I could not make the six hour drive back to my hometown to vote. |
I am not interested in politics, mainly because I do believe they are rigged, and staged for the American people into thinking they have a choice who gets to vote. |
I did not like either candidate and I was not interested in participating in this election. I thought both made a mockery out of this country. |
I have realized that our system of government and its electoral process is nothing but a joke, especially when people have “voted” YET we all have to wait and see what the “ELECTORAL COLLEGE” says! I refuse to keep voting for a bunch of evil, fraudulent, & corrupt suppressors. All this stuff we see about Puff Diddy ain’t just about him, it’s the entire industry of elites whether it be politicians, entertainers, or judges and it is under these circumstances that I think we the people need to wake up from our brainwashing and withhold our votes until things change. It is your right to withhold your vote as much as it is to vote and what we should be doing when we see the types of corruption and devil going on today! The whole system is a joke and the sooner American citizens see it the better off we will be! |
i did not vote because i did not belive that any of the candidates were worthy of the office of president. |
I can not in good conscience support any of the people running for president. I do not want to seem like I agree with the policies and ideals that either candidate stands for. |
I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone, and there tends to be a lot of drama. I didn’t want to deal with small town gossip and drama at the polling station. |
I did not really have any strong feelings for any candidate.so I did not feel that I should bother voting. |
I’m busy with family and didn’t have time to register and go to polling stations. With my schedule it makes it hard to vote as well. To some extreme I already knew who would become President. |
I was dissatisfied with the democratic and republican candidates for the most part, and I also felt that I wasn’t informed enough about the Green Party and Libertarian Party candidates to confidently cast my vote for either. |
None of the candidates stand for my beliefs, so I couldn’t in good faith vote. Plus I am not educated on most issues. |
I don’t support a system that doesn’t support me and people like me. There is on one in office look out for the well being nor care about the how we live and got us on survivor mode. Lack of funding and nothing is affordable any more. |
I don’t feel like either candidate was a good candidate. Trump is kind of crazy, but thats all the republicans would nominate. Harris shouldn’t have even been the candidate as she wasn’t nominated, she just replaced Biden as the candidate after Democrats pushed him out. |
I did not like either of the candidates and I think we need to change our election system, like the two party system sucks. |
I didn’t vote because some of the policies/agendas that the Republican and Democratic nominees clashed with my religious beliefs. |
I didn’t want ot participate in voting for the lesser of two eveils. I will wait until there is someone that is good. If that happens. |
I did not vote because I could not in good faith vote for any (or either) of the candidates. Just because I hate Trump doesn’t mean that I automatically support Harris. |
I did not like either candidate and was concerned about what the country would look like after each one. Since I was not in a swing state and it is very blue I did not vote soI did not have to fell responsible…Kind of a cowards way out :( |
I do not live in a swing state so I didnt feel that my vote would make a difference. I also felt conflicted on which candidate I preferred |
I honestly didn’t really feel like my vote would actually make a difference. Plus, I don’t really trust that the elections are always done fairly and honestly without fraud. |
I did not like Kamala Harris or Donald Trump and couldn’t really justify voting for either of them. Therefore, as a form of protest I chose not to vote |
I don’t care about voting. It doesn’t make a difference one way or the other if I vote or not. I am not into politics because it causes people to rely on humans which is not natural. |
Because after a lifetime of voting Democrat, I couldn’t keep holding my nose and voting for them anymore, even as I couldn’t make myself vote Trump (and not being in a swing state made that less conflicting). And right now their reaction to losing is honestly reinforcing that decision. They’re incredibly out of touch and seemingly completely unwilling to consider taking accountability for where they shit the bed (and pardon the expression, but they very much did). They destroyed their credibility with a series of blatant lies (particularly regarding Biden’s fitness for the position), they brushed off voters’ most high-priority concerns (immigration problem? what immigration problem! inflation? what inflation??), often while disparaging, mocking, or smearing voters for having those concerns (‘only disingenuous bigots would ask that!’). They tried to run a unprimaried candidate hand-picked by a man with dementia based on ‘vibes’ and memes and guilt trips and their own conviction that they had a mandate to rule, that they must be on ‘the right side of history.’ And their stances on the culture war issues (gender ideology particularly) are astonishingly ridiculous for anyone outside of their bubble. And they don’t venture outside of their bubble enough seemingly to not have been blindsided by this outcome. They’re out of touch and treat voters with contempt while they chase after pandering to an unhinged fringe that hates everyone, particularly them and their base. That’s how they lost me. A party championing the idea of censoring ‘malinformation’ who’ve doubled down on pretending to not know what a woman is has completely lost the plot. |
I did not vote because I am a stay-at-home mom who did not have the time. I am also not a very political person, so I did not feel the pressure to vote but also had the strong sense that the candidate I was going for would win either way. |
I did not vote because although I am republican, I didn’t feel perfectly aligned with either canidate |
I typically tend not to vote unless a candidate lives up to the moral and ethical values that I believe a leader of a nation should possess. Also, a candidate’s position on certain hot topic issues, such as economy, foreign policy, education, basic human rights, etc. all factor in to whether I decide to cast a ballot. However, this year I specifically felt that the candidates that were “chosen” for us to vote between were just not living up to these standards. For the past decade, it feels as though the nation is more interested in a popularity contest rather than focusing on major issues of our country. |
I did not feel informed, nor did I have the time to become fully informed. I just moved states around the registration deadline, so I also was not registered in my current state. |
I was torn on who I wanted to win , so I didn’t take time to go vote on a work day. I was content to let the public decide and I’m fine with that . Both candidates had their pro and con |
Neither candidate was viable. Trump was kinda the lesser of the two evils. But even he has his flaws and errors. |
Didn’t care for either candidate, Harris supporters really gave me a negative vibe and wasn’t a fan of Trump, was indifferent. |
I was not happy with any of the candidates and felt that my vote wouldn’t matter either way. I’m a moderate republican living in a democratic state so it wouldn’t matter either way. |
I did not feel any affinity for either candidate. My personal feeling was that they were both undesirable as candidates. I’m a conservative although I haven’t identified as a Republican for years because of the movement towards the extreme that the party has been taking but I couldn’t bring myself to vote for Trump even though I believe a Harris presidency would be a huge mistake. |
I did not vote because it does not matter who wins. They are two wings of the same bird. The wars will continue at home and abroad regardless of who becomes the next president. |
I ended up having to go out of town and didn’t go to my local place to vote. i didn’t really place much importance on it so I didn’t feel I needed too. Life has to go on after the election and I truly doubted my vote would make a difference. Politicians will make promises and not keep them and they will do whatever they want to anyways. |
I feel that if you support a candidate other than one in the two major parties, your vote really doesn’t matter in our current political climate. I couldn’t stomach either enough to vote for them. If I had voted, I would’ve voted for Chase Oliver. |
I had a update about my social security which prevented me from voting on time. Since I recently became a citizen, I didn’t know about this and it was last week that I made an appointment and they told me that I have to wait for the news to arrive by mail. |
Frustrated with the choices we have to choose from. And the constant election cycle. And then there was today where people stopped being friends because of they voted for. |
I couldn’t decide which candidate I wanted to win. Each had good plans and policies. I know whoever wins, ultimately I would still need to abide by the laws. |
I felt like Donald Trump did not align with my views accurately. Harris was nominated without a democratic selection and voting for that sets a dangerous precedent moving forward. Therefore, there was nobody left, who had a real chance at winning, that I felt compelled to vote for. |
I didnt like either candidate. I especially didnt like that Harris was thrust in at last minute without a vote. She’s had four years to help Biden make America better and nothing is better. I wont vote for the “lesser of two evils” because theres no other choice. |
No matter what party you pick they are still not for the people. In my opinion the elections are just an illusion of choice. |
I did not feel or hear anything about what either candidate was planning to do about the issues I care about so I had no one to vote for. Also the pressure of voting can get overwhelming when everyone is telling you to vote for someone just to keep someone else out of office. I understand the importance of not allowing someone like Trump into office but if the only reason to vote for Kamala is to keep Trump out then that’s not worth my vote. I think Kamala was a great candidate but I question if she actually wanted to be President. I don’t know, honestly long story short I did not feel nor believe that either candidate deserved my vote. Until the political scene is no longer this “good vs bad” bs and actually involving people who care about the development of our country, voting for either party would be a waste of time. |
I was going to be out of town on voting day. I wanted to early vote but the line was to long and I had to pick up my child. |
My vote wouldn’t have mattered or made any difference to the outcome. There was no point in my attempting to influence anything |
There are no specific reasons or a good reason. To be honest, I just didn’t have the opportunity to do it this year, although I would have liked to. |
I felt like it was pointless. The economy has been terrible for years, and I don’t think any president will fix that. I also feel like a lot of presidents will say anything to get a vote and rarely ever follow through with what they promise. |
I didn’t like any of the candidates and voting is pointless anyway unless the election came down to a single vote in my state which it didn’t and never has. |
I think it is an illusion of choice and both options are 2 sides of the same coin. I think voting is more like taking a survey and plegding your allegiance to the (corrupt) government. |
I didn’t have the time, and I also didn’t really feel like it would matter. I also really didn’t want anyone I know badgering me over who I would vote for. |
I live in California which is a largely democrat state and I felt as though my vote would do little if anything to move the needle in the direction I would have liked |
I did not like either candidate. I just could not vote for someone i do not think that they should be president. I think both options were terrible. |
I did not feel strong enough vote for either candidate. I also knew that my state was inevitably going to be electoral points for Kamala. |
I had to work. I knew it would be stressful and a lot of people in one place and I didn’t want to go through that |
I initially hesitated due to health issues, and being called to jury duty in the past despite them. Then at one point, I decided I needed to vote no matter what my health issues were, and was under the impression I could register to vote online. I found out I wasn’t able to, and the deadline to register at all had passed in my state. |
I didn’t vote because I am registered to vote at my old address, and my ID had expired too. I could have voted early, even with those circumstances, but when I looked up information about it, it seemed like early voting was over. Also I felt it didn’t matter that much because my state is not a swing state, so I would just be doing for my own satisfaction, so instead of keeping on searching for information about what to do, I just put it out of my mind. |
I did not vote because as an African American, I have come to the realization that no matter whom we as a community vote for, we get nothing in return. We still endure systemic racism on a daily basis, we remain impoverished, our neighborhoods remain in squalor, our schools are still the worst in the country, our teens and young men are being killed, and are killing one another at an alarming rate; and not one political candidate or political party has offered us any policies to combat any of those issues. So, I feel that we may as well keep our votes and find our own solutions to fix our own problems because it doesn’t look as though any political party cares about the plight of the African American community. |
Due to me being out of state I was unfortunately unable to make it to my designated polling location. |
I didn’t want Trump and felt that he would be a disaster, but Harris isn’t pro-life. So I didn’t feel I couldn’t vote for either. |
I was feeling sick on election day and couldn’t get the motivation to go vote. I also didn’t want to be around others when not feeling well and risking getting others sick. |
Because the USA is a war mongering bully, controlled by many outside forces and nations, doesn’t care about it’s own people, tries to influence many things they shouldn’t, fake and subverting news, I could literally type 10k characters and that would only be the shallow simplistic nature compared to how corrupt people really are, and DELUSIONAL. One example. I am very poor and do these surveys to survive. There is a homeless dude looking at buying a 80K CAMPER AT THIS POOR LIBRARY HAHAH. It’s cool to have big dreams, like what was once the American Dream, now it’s just a nightmare |
I don’t consider myself to be a fan of Donald Trump or Kamala Harris so I decided instead of trying to force myself to pick for one, I wouldn’t vote since I wasn’t really anticipating either being president. |
After Biden’s hilariously impossible 81 million votes I decided I was not going through the drama of missing work and getting a ride to participate in our farce of an election system. Kamala Harris is a hand puppet for the parasite class, and Trump, though I supported him the first two times around, is NOT stepping away from this Project 2025 stuff with anywhere NEAR enough vehemence. I didn’t vote because I don’t consent to having either of those people in any position of authority over me. |
I did not vote and never have in my 64 years because I’ve never been fooled into believing that my personal opinion matters. In addition to that, I really don’t care. |
None of the political candidates represent my views and needs. Also, I live in a state where my vote for the presidential election wouldn’t really matter in terms of the final outcome. |
I just feel like my vote doesn’t matter. I also didn’t have childcare for my 3 young children. The last presidential election I voted in was when Barrack Obama was elected president. |
I never got around to registering to vote because I unfortunately had got too busy. I wanted to vote but I didn’t have a way to go besides the fact that I didn’t register |
It don’t really matter to me. I think I don’t really have control over what really happens in the country. |
I recently moved for my spouse’s work and was not able to change my voting registration for the new state. |
i dont have faith in any of the candidates. They all essentually spout the same thing and wont get anything done |
I felt there would be no difference between who got elected. I also moved and failed to register in my current city. |
I did not vote because I have no faith in this government to do what is right for the people, particularly the indigenous people of this land. We are given an illusion of choice and there is no real progress, also I believe people put in office are selected and not elected and they are given an agenda to follow so voting is pointless. |
Both of the main candidates were awful and neither represent me or my values. If I would have voted, it would have probably been for jill stein. |
I didn’t vote because I felt like neither candidate really represented what I care about, and I wasn’t excited about either option. |
Both candidates won’t stick to their words, plus they both ran on meaningless policies that won’t make anything actually better. |
I wasn’t quite sold on either candidate. If I had gone to the polls, I would have voted for Trump. I would not have voted for Kamala. |
I could not come to terms with standing behind any of the political parties. All were evil and contradicted my personal belief system. |
I did not vote because I did not want to endorse either candidate to lead this country. Neither candidate, in my opinion, fit my idea of a true leader and someone who could bring this great nation back to strength and resiliency. |
I don’t like either of them it was more like a high school competition. This was such a petty election. This was so ugly to the community. |
I was not satisfied with any of the options that I was given for the presidential ballot. I did vote for a candidate on the rest of the ballot however. |
I am not knowledgeable enough about the two candidates to vote. In addition to that, I live in California and to my understanding the electoral college will ultimately decide. |

Great. Cool.
Alright, let’s see if we can predict vote for kamala at Time 2 from vote for Kamala at Time 0 + class zs (T1).
Predictor | \(b\) | 95% CI | \(t\) | \(\mathit{df}\) | \(p\) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Intercept | 0.05 | [-0.04, 0.13] | 1.12 | 745 | .264 |
Zs class t1 | 0.02 | [0.01, 0.04] | 2.75 | 745 | .006 |
Vote harris t0 | 0.57 | [0.50, 0.63] | 17.65 | 745 | < .001 |
Nailed. It. Let’s check the mediation model:
direct effect: b = 0.58, t(767) =
18.15, p = 0.
indirect effect: b = 0.57, t(766) =
17.89, p = 0.
a link: b = 0.33, t(767) = 2.58,
p = 0.01.
b link: b = 0.02, t(766) = 2.8,
p = 0.005.
Phenomenal.
Let’s see if we see similar patterns for trump vote.
Predictor | \(b\) | 95% CI | \(t\) | \(\mathit{df}\) | \(p\) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Intercept | 0.36 | [0.27, 0.46] | 7.50 | 745 | < .001 |
Zs class t1 | -0.04 | [-0.06, -0.02] | -4.09 | 745 | < .001 |
Vote trump t0 | 0.46 | [0.39, 0.53] | 13.30 | 745 | < .001 |
Amazing. It’s exactly the opposite. Alright, let’s see it in mediation form:
direct effect: b = 0.49, t(767) =
14.4, p = 0.
indirect effect: b = 0.46, t(766) =
13.49, p = 0.
a link: b = -0.69, t(767) = -5.38,
p = 0.
b link: b = -0.04, t(766) = -4.17,
p = 0.

Predictor | \(b\) | 95% CI | \(t\) | \(\mathit{df}\) | \(p\) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|

Zs class t1 \(\times\) Antiest t2 | -0.02 | [-0.04, 0.00] | -2.30 | 744 | .022 |
very interesting.
Harris vote (T2) as the outcome; class zs (T2) as the predictor; anti-establishment (T2) as the moderator
Predictor | \(b\) | 95% CI | \(t\) | \(\mathit{df}\) | \(p\) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Intercept | -0.09 | [-0.55, 0.36] | -0.40 | 744 | .686 |

Zs class t1 \(\times\) Antiest t2 | -0.01 | [-0.03, 0.00] | -1.46 | 744 | .144 |
direct effect: b = 0.04, t(767) =
3.76, p = 0.
indirect effect: b = 0.04, t(766) =
3.5, p = 0.
a link: b = 0.22, t(767) = 8.46,
p = 0.
b link: b = 0, t(766) = 0.32,
p = 0.75.
direct effect: b = -0.06, t(767) =
-6.18, p = 0.
indirect effect: b = -0.07, t(766) =
-6.67, p = 0.
a link: b = 0.22, t(767) = 8.46,
p = 0.
b link: b = 0.04, t(766) = 2.52,
p = 0.012.
Oh, intersting, it does explain not voting for trump, despite not
explaining voting for harris. Those votes probably went third party or
stayed at home. Let’s see.
direct effect: b = 0.01, t(767) =
0.62, p = 0.533.
indirect effect: b = 0.02, t(766) =
1.89, p = 0.059.
a link: b = 0.22, t(767) = 8.46,
p = 0.
b link: b = -0.06, t(766) = -4.4,
p = 0.
Not exactly there, but close. ZS class isn’t predictive of not
voting.
direct effect: b = 0.02, t(767) =
2.28, p = 0.023.
indirect effect: b = 0.01, t(766) =
1.61, p = 0.108.
a link: b = 0.22, t(767) = 8.46,
p = 0.
b link: b = 0.02, t(766) = 1.99,
p = 0.047.
Third is too messy: they can be very different from one another.
direct effect: b = 0.1, t(767) =
13.4, p = 0.
indirect effect: b = 0.1, t(766) =
11.86, p = 0.
a link: b = 0.22, t(767) = 8.46,
p = 0.
b link: b = 0.04, t(766) = 3.6,
p = 0.
Ok, this is a lot stronger and a more accurate test of our theoretical
model.
