1.5 Sampling
- Population: Transplant patients.
- Targeted population: Transplant patients having physiotherapy exercises.
- Sample size: Lung transplant recipients (n=62), all participants received multidisciplinary rehabilitation as part of their standard care, between April and September 2024.
- Sampling method: total sampling.
- Interventions: all participants received multidisciplinary rehabilitation as part of their standard care.
2 Metrics
2.1 Variable definition
Oxygen Therapy: is the use of oxygen as medical treatment. Indications for COPD, Pneumonia
- Resting oxygen (LPM-liters per minute)
- Ambulatory oxygen (LPM-liters per minute)
Functional measures
- 6-MWT: 6 Minute Walk Test is measured by the number of repetitions, how many metres a patient can walk each time. 6-MWT ranges from 400-700 m, the main predictor variables being gender, age and underlying health conditions. The 6-MWT is a useful tool in the assessment of when to ilst patients for transplantation. [Distance for the 6-MWT followed a normal distribution following lung transplant, and distances walked continued to improve for a year following transplant](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3096221/#:~:text=No%20complications%20were%20reported%20for,at%206%20months%20(P%20%3D%20.). Standard: 150m/ 6MWT

Medical Research Council Dyspnea Scale:
- 0: dyspnea only with strenuous exercise
- 1: dyspnea when hurrying or walking up a slight hill
- 2: walks slower than people of the same age
- 3: stops for breath after walking 91m or after a few mins
- 4: too syspneic to leve house breathless when dressing
- Grip Strength score: refers to the measurement of the force exerted by the hand when squeezing a handheld dynamometer, which can be used to assess overall muscle strength and predict postoperative complications Evidence-Based Physical Diagnosis. It may have use as a prognostic indicator for health outcomes
Mobility Status: Physical measures of mobility and balance
Process measures: rehabilitation length of stay, interruptions to rehabilitation, discharge destination
