Sport and Exercise Science and Therapy Intake Survey

We asked our first year students why they had decided to come to Teesside and study sport.

Likert data

We asked the students as to the extend they agreed or disagreed with the following items being important in them deciding to study sport at Teesside University. Mostly all items were important to some students but the strongest agreement was overwhelmingly for the “good reputation for sports courses” and the univeristy being “close to home”.

We asked students to state the one factor that was their biggest influence which confirmed the Likert data:

Had the students engaged with us before?

We asked the students if they had been engaged in activity with us before, Open Days, Bespoke College Visits or Open Days or through our Youth Sport initiatives. Overall most (but not all) had:

Did you attend an Open Day?

Did you attend a college sports “experience” visit?

Were you involved in a sports programme with the University when you were younger?
