All of the data used in this report was collected at John Glenn International Airport in Columbus, Ohio between the years of 2010 and 2018 by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
In the box plots below, each point represents a single day and the maximum or minimum temperature for each of those days of every year there was data gathered. By looking at these plots, we can find two interesting pieces of information. One of these being, both plots are fairly normal shaped. For this data set, that means the warmest maximum and minimum temperatures occur in June, July, and August while the coldest occur in January and December. Another piece of information we are able to identify is that there is a larger spread of temperatures in the earlier/later months of the year than the middle months. The box plots for January and December are much larger than they are for July. This shows that the temperatures are more inconsistent in those months than they are in July.
This table gathers the information for every month during the years of data collected and complies it to give us each month’s average maximum and minimum temperature as well as the standard deviations for those averages. By using this table, we are able to answer a variety of questions. One of these questions is which month(s) have the highest/lowest maximum and minimum temperatures which we can see is January for lowest and July for highest. Another question that can be answered would be is the difference between the average maximum temperature from January to July the same as the difference between the average minimum from January to July. The data shows that the difference is very close but not the same. There is a bigger difference in maximums than minimums.

These graphs give a visual representation of some of the data in the
table above. Each graph represent either the monthly maximum averages or
monthly minimums averages. These graphs are fairly normal shaped with
the highest temperatures occurring in July while the coldest occur in
January and December. The legend helps show a difference in temperatures
for each month.
This time graph represents the daily high temperature of each day in
April of 2018. The maximum temperature occurred between April 09 and
April 16 while the minimum temperature occurred soon after April 16.
