Dependent Variables (x)= Academic test scores( SAT and ACT test scores,College admissions)

Independent Variables (y)= Economically Disatvantaged, Education levels of parents(Socioeconomic)

Null Hypothesis= There is no significant correlation between the Academic test scores of the students and Socioeconomic Factors in Aransas County comparison to the other counties of Texas.

Alternative Hypothesis= There is a positive correlation to the Socioeconomic factors and Academic test scores in Aransas County compared to the other counties of Texas.Studies show that disctricts with higher academic test scores tend to have a lower number of economically disatvantaged students. Districts with Higher levels of education from parents have higher academic test score averages.

Hypothesis: The purpose of this data set is to study the correlation between the population of the economically disatvantaged percentage of families in Aransas pass and education of parents to their academic Test scores such as ACT and SAT scores. Also college admissions will be quantified under the academic aspect of this study.

This study hopes to compare the Academic Values to the socioeconomic variables such as families who are less off as well as the educational level of the parents. This studies main goal is to show that families with a much higher level of education from parents and lower percentage of economic hardships have a much higher percentage of Academic test scores and acceptance into colleges. There will also be a comparison between the Aransas county and the San Antonio ISD.This will show the differences between both counties while also proving and adding positive correlation between the variables as well as the hypothesis in question. By comparing there is hope to further find correlation towards academic factors and socioeconomic factors which will give insight into the status of both districts and coming up with certain policies to combat this issue.
